Make AFC AJAX Great Again
Some tension building in the background already. Seems one wants players from Barca or his past while one party is open to the best signings from anywhere.

The transfer of Chuba Akpom to Feyenoord was truly unexpected. I knew they were rare, so it's great to get this kind of information as to HOW rare they are. Which makes me ask: Johan Cruyff transferring directly to Feyenoord back then. Has his Ajax-legacy not been tainted by this?
Good little beef-story with yourself and the Udinese chairman. Too bad if you can't sign Oumar Solet. I had him in a previous career, and he was brilliant. A great all-round centerback with a good deal of pace to his game. You might want to consider going the extra mile for this one.

About Johan Cruijff: he was upset with Ajax-management and to demonstrate he was right - 'there's still a title in me (age 37)' - he went to the arch rivals and got the title there. He was quickly forgiven, because the rather successful head coach Aad de Mos was shoved aside in 1985 in favour of... Johan Cruijff.
And Johan Cruijff shouldn't be underestimated: together with Franz Beckenbauer, they are the only two that made an international success out of anything they touched, beyond just being great football players, which is why -according to me- they are the two most iconic people in football ever. Cruijff as player (golden Ajax of the early 1970s), Cruijff as manager (first European trophy in 14 years with Ajax in 1987, first ever Champions League / European Cup with Barcelona in 1992), Cruijff as visionary (his concept of total football, evolved into tiki-taka under two of his students, Frank Rijkaard and Pep Guardiola), Cruijff at organizational level (triggered a revolution at Ajax in 2011-12, that heralded overall 10 very successful seasons). So, that's why Ajax and Johan always got back together - it's one of those unique duo-unities.
About Solet: it's very simple. If asking price is ridiculously high, and/or expected salary is ludicrous, and/or unrealistic squad roles are requested, it's no-go for me. In this case, Udinese literally did not want to talk; the only way to circumvent that was to pay release clause: € 34,700,000,-. No, thank you - there are alternative options within my own ranks, or budget.

I am used to reading graphics with the lineup facing top from bottom, no idea what that is just how I do it for some reason. I thought for a minute you changed up the Ajax formation!
Very young at CB and some midfield positions. I like that, mixing in youth and experience to develop the next group of players.

ShireNiner Funny, where I'm from, we always write the goalkeeper up top (as it regularly is #1) and then write down, either by formation (striker at bottom) or kit number (highest number at bottom).ShireNiner wrote: ↑14 Mar 2026, 12:16I am used to reading graphics with the lineup facing top from bottom, no idea what that is just how I do it for some reason. That is the traditional Ajax-way - that club is known for pioneering the concept of total football (tiki-taka) and to lean on your own youth academy; it's the way they always have done.ShireNiner wrote: ↑14 Mar 2026, 12:16Very young at CB and some midfield positions.
