United Sign "Next Bruno" Rodrigo Mora from Toulouse for £23.5M

Rodrigo Mora has been hailed as a Bruno-like attacking midfield talent and may be the long term successor for Rashford at LAM.

Manchester United have signed 20-year-old Portuguese starlet Rodrigo Mora from Toulouse for £23.5M. The young attacker is being brought in as a long-term prospect to potentially follow in Bruno Fernandes’ footsteps, offering creativity, technical ability, and goal threat. Mora will initially serve as a backup to Marcus Rashford at LAM, gaining experience in Amorim’s system while developing his versatility and attacking instincts. United see him as a high-upside addition who can gradually take on a more prominent role in the squad, providing depth on the left and helping maintain the club’s blend of emerging talent and established stars for years to come.

United Sign Tyler Dibling from Southampton for £25M

Dibling is another young prospect United have had long-term links to.

Manchester United have completed the £25M signing of 20-year-old Dibling from Southampton, bringing in a dynamic attacker to provide cover for Takefusa Kubo at RAM. The young winger, often compared to both Gareth Bale and United legend Ryan Giggs for his speed, dribbling, and creativity, is set to replace Amad Diallo, who may leave in search of more regular game time. Dibling offers energy, technical skill, and goal threat from the right side, giving Amorim more options in attack while maintaining the club’s emphasis on young, exciting talent. He is expected to gradually integrate into the squad and make an immediate impact as Kubo’s understudy.

Baleba Leaves United for Spurs for £41M

Baleba packs his bags and walks out of Carrington.

Manchester United have sold midfielder Baleba to Spurs following the arrival of Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace. Baleba spent just one season at Old Trafford, showing flashes of quality but ultimately not establishing himself as a long-term starter. The club has made a marginal profit on the deal, having paid £35M to Brighton last summer and selling him for £41M. United see the move as a natural step to refresh the midfield and make room for Wharton, who fits the club’s plan of developing a stronger English core while maintaining high-level talent. Baleba leaves on good terms with the club.

Amad Diallo Joins Palace for £38.5M

Amad was a good servant during his time at United.

Manchester United have completed the sale of Amad Diallo to Crystal Palace for £38.5M, following Baleba’s recent departure. The young winger struggled for consistent minutes behind Takefusa Kubo and Dibling, making the move a natural opportunity for him to play regularly. Rumors suggest that both the Amad and Baleba sales may have been partially motivated by the club’s frustration with losing key players to AFCON 2027, as United aim to maintain squad stability during crucial periods of the season. The club has reinvested in talent like Dibling and Wharton, ensuring depth and continuity while balancing the demands of domestic and European competitions.

United Sign Ezri Konsa from Villa for £27M

Konsa brings depth and leadership to United's backline.

Manchester United have secured the signing of Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, bringing the 28-year-old defender to Old Trafford as experienced, reliable cover across both the central and right centre-back roles. While not a headline “world-class” name, Konsa is viewed internally as a world-class professional—an established Premier League leader, a vocal organiser, and a calm presence in high-pressure situations. His versatility, defensive consistency, and athletic profile make him an ideal rotational piece for Rúben Amorim’s back three. United believe Konsa’s arrival provides crucial depth and maturity as they prepare for a title defence and Champions League return.

Manchester United Announce 2026-27 Squad

Image
United have a refreshed and deep squad ready for the season.

Manchester United head into the 2026-27 season with a squad blending experience, rising stars, and exciting new signings under Rúben Amorim. Lucas Perri remains the undisputed No. 1 goalkeeper, supported by Altay Bayindir, while 17-year-old Louie Baldwin has been promoted from the academy but will spend the season out on loan to gain valuable experience.

The back three boasts a mix of youth and leadership: Bremer anchors the centre with Branthwaite and Dalot providing athleticism and versatility, while Ezri Konsa offers experienced rotational cover. Alvaro Carreras will patrol the left side as a dynamic LM/LWB, with Toby Collyer, Marcus Knowles, Reo Hatate, and Adam Wharton providing depth across central and defensive midfield roles.

United’s attack is formidable. Rasmus Højlund leads the line alongside new signing Evan Ferguson, with Marcus Rashford wearing the captain’s armband and providing creativity from LAM. Alejandro Garnacho, Takefusa Kubo, Rodrigo Mora, Lewis Barry, and Tyler Dibling ensure competition and depth across the wide and attacking midfield positions.

With this squad, United aim to defend their Premier League title, compete in the Champions League, and maintain a style of fast, vertical football. Amorim has options for rotation, youth integration, and tactical flexibility, signaling an ambitious season ahead.

That is a lot of turnover in one summer. Might see a slow start here but then the team should win some silverware this season.

Yeah... I feel like maybe I did a bit too much but we'll see. When Madrid sent a bid for Bruno though it seemed fair to sell and the board wanted me to bring in 4 WC players plus 3 youngsters.
