Madden/CFB slider testing.

The commanders game is interesting to me since that’s one of the only games I see where the cpu has equal or better TOP.. are they using any backup RBs? I would love to see more rushing attempts, but not necessarily by the starter. Around 30 pass attempts and 20 rush attempts would be a pretty good split

As far as I know, the backup RB had maybe 2 carries. Daniels also scrambled a few times as well.

I haven't experimented with auto subs yet

I haven't tried them and never thought about it but somehow I doubt it'll be the same experience

Mode: Franchise

Vikings (me) - 20
Eagles (CPU) - 45

Team Stats
MIN: 325 total yards (228 passing, 97 rushing), 19 first downs, 7/15 3rd down, 1 turnover, 31:15 TOP
PHI: 472 total yards (338 passing, 134 rushing), 24 1st downs, 4/9 3rd down, 1 turnover, 28:45 TOP

Player Stats
JJ McCarthy: 22/34, 250 yards, TD
Jalen Hurts: 28/33, 351 yards, TD; 4 rushes, 50 yards, TD

Saquon Barkley: 14 att, 81 yards, 3 TD
Aaron Jones: 20 att, 54 yards
JJ McCarthy: 2 att, 26 yards, TD

Saquon Barkley: 7 rec, 106 yards
Justin Jefferson: 9 rec, 169 yards, TD
Dallas Goedert: 9 rec, 104 yards

Overall:
The Eagles' top-rated offense made pretty easy work of my defense, which had trouble stopping Saquon Barkley who was a mismatch nightmare coming out of the backfield (7 receptions for 106 yards). Dallas Goedert was also one of Philly's other 100-yard receivers. All in all the big play Eagles made plenty of big plays against me thanks to their constant motion plays. Justin Jefferson was the lone bright spot on Minnesota's defense with 169 yards and a 69-yard TD. I could've kept this one a little closer had it not been for some scrambles for 1st downs by Jalen Hurts on 3rd and long.

I think at this point I've experimented enough to settle on a set of sliders I like. I feel like this set allows me to beat teams I "should" beat while losing to teams I "should" be losing to.

Kept on default

If you don't like them, then turn them off - I don't know what that experience is like

I figured I would drop some of my player stats and show you how they are performing relative to the rest of the league after 5 games:

JJ McCarthy: 1,128 yards (20th), 6 TDs (27th), 101.3 passer rating (17th)
Aaron Jones: 512 yards (1st), 3 TD (9th), 111 carries (1st)
Justin Jefferson: 502 yards (3rd), 3 TD (3rd), 29 receptions (6th)

Andrew Van Ginkel: 21 tackles, 6 TFL, 2.5 sacks, INT
Mekhi Blackmon: 38 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks, INT, 2 forced fumbles
Dallas Turner: 17 tackles, 5 TFL, 1.5 sacks
Blake Cashman: 29 tackles, 2 TFL, INT
Byron Murphy Jr.: 28 tackles

Team Stats:
134 points scored (7th), 139 points allowed (27th), 1933 offensive yards (2nd), 1714 defensive yards allowed (25th), 14 sacks (3rd), -1 turnover differential (7 giveaways, 6 takeaways)

-----------------------------------------------------

The stats are what they are and I don't know how they will progress throughout the rest of the season, but the offense feels loaded with McCarthy, Jones (especially - he went off for 183 yards in the most recent game), Ty Chandler, Jefferson, Addison, Hockenson, and Odell Beckham Jr. as the offensive weapons so ranking 7th in points scored and 2nd in offensive yards feels somewhat justifiable. Like I've mentioned in previous posts, the defense seems almost too easy when playing teams lower rated than me but against the likes of the big dogs like Philadelphia, KC that's a whole different level. Minnesota has a 79 overall defense so I probably won't complain at this point about the low defensive rankings. I will say that it's incredibly difficult to see secondary players making interceptions and I think that's just the way things are with Madden. No matter how tight coverage is the user team will rarely make a move to step in front of a ball and go for an interception.
