January Week 3 | San Jose, CA

Match #1: The Rock vs. Steve Austin | One on One Normal Match
The Rock went right after Austin when the ball rang and stomped a mudhole in him in the corner. This gave him an advantage early and he was able to hit the People's Elbow just a few minutes into the contest but Austin kicked out at two to the Rock's surprise. The action later spilled outside the ring and The Rock took advantage of a distracted official to bust Austin open with a steel chair. He rolled him back into the ring and hit the Rock Bottom but somehow the Texas Rattlesnake still kicked out. The Rock, enraged and fed up at this point, grabbed the steel chair and wrapped it around Austin's braced knee. Despite the official's complaints otherwise, The Rock then stomped on the chair repeatedly, badly damaging Austin's knee and also earning The Rock a disqualification in the process.
Winner: Steve Austin by disqualification.

Match #2: Trish Stratus & Ivory vs. Mickie James & Jacqueline | Two on Two Tag Team
Trish Stratus was forced to team up with the woman who will likely be challenging her for the belt at the Royal Rumble. During the match, Trish whipped Mickie James into the corner and then went for the clothesline on her, but James moved out of the way just at the last second causing Trish to clothesline her teammate Ivory instead. In the confusion, Mickie James was able to gain the upper hand on Trish when Ivory came in looking to make the save with a clothesline of her own that connected with... Trish. At this point, Jacqueline also got involved and attacked the stunned Ivory and threw her out of the ring, while Mickie James picked Trish up and hit her with a Mick Kick as her team picked up a victory over the Women's Champion and #1 contender. After the match, ivory and Trish very nearly came to blows but ended up just walking away from each other in disgust at the result of their match.

Match #3: Randy Orton vs. Triple H w/ Evolution | One on One Normal Match
Once again Triple H was able to take advantage of his relationship with the McMahons and book a match against Orton with all of Evolution at ringside. And while Evolution didn't interfere in this one directly, the threat of their possible interference was enough to put Orton off his game. Triple H eventually hit Orton with the Pedigree while he was focused on Batista outside the ring to score the pinfall victory. After the match on Evolution's way back up the ramp, Orton tried to attack HHH from behind but ended up being thwarted and forced to retreat before Batista and Ric Flair could also get involved. He headed back to the ring and demanded a microphone, "Ok Hunter, so you can beat me when the numbers are in your favour. But how about when they're not? I challenge you to a match at the Royal Rumble inside a steel cage. No Flair, no Batista, just me and you." HHH smirked and said, "See the thing is Orton. I could beat you on my own, I just don't because it's easier. But if it's a one on one you want, I'll give it to you. I'll beat you down like the disrespectful dog you are inside that steel cage and teach you exactly why they call me, The Game."
Winner: Triple H by pinfall.

Middle Card Promo: John Cena | Call Out
"I got a little score to settle," Cena started, "You see, a lil punk named Kurt Angle attacked me when I wasn't ready a few weeks ago on Smackdown!. Angle, get your ass out here so we can have a little chat." Angle came out in a very good mood, "Cena, you know exactly why I did what I did to you on Smackdown!. I don't respect you or the way you carry that United States Championship. It's as simple as that. What I want to do is take it from you at the Royal Rumble, and I'll do exactly that if you just accept my challenge." Cena retorted, "You think you can just attack me and get a match?" There was a long pause and then Cena said, "Well you're damn right, cause I'm from West Newbury, Massachusetts, and we don't back down from nobody. If it's a fight you want, that's exactly what you'll get. You're on Angle, me versus you for the United States Championship at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view." "About damn time," Angle responded. Just as Angle was about to turn and walk away, Cena said, "Oh and one more thing." As Angle raised his hands waiting for what that thing was, Cena kicked him in the gut and then delivered the F-U. He got down to the mat and waved his hands across his face, "At the Royal Rumble. You can't see me, Kurt".

Main Event: Scott Hall w/ Kevin Nash vs. Kane w/ Undertaker | One on One Normal Match
After Undertaker beat one half of the tag team champions in Kevin Nash a few weeks ago, Kane felt it only made sense to issue a challenge to the other half, Scott Hall. This one was another really great contest with Kane and Hall having very similar movesets, showcasing a series of powerful maneuvers. But in the end, when Hall looked all set to put away Kane with the Outsider's Edge, Kane's weight was too much for him due to his fatigue during the match and his knees buckled under it. Kane took advantage by rolling to his feet and hitting Hall with his brother's move, the Tombstone Piledriver to make the Brothers of Destruction 2-0 in singles action against the nWo.

January Week 4 | Dayton, OH

Match #1: Triple H w/ Evolution vs. Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman | One on One Normal Match
Triple H came out with Evolution to brag about his dominance over Orton the last several weeks. Eventually he was interrupted by... Brock Lesnar? Lesnar came out with his advocate, Paul Heyman, who said, "Hey that numbers game nonsense might work against Orton, but let's see how it works against The Beast". And with that a match between Lesnar and HHH was under way. Actually it would be wrong to call it a match. It was a demolition. Lesnar was ragdolling HHH, and the only thing that stopped this from being over as soon as it started was interference from Batista. The referee got fed up of his antics though and tossed him from ringside. When Flair tried to distract the referee while Lesnar went for the pin, Brock chased Flair on the outside and delivered an F-5 to him, rendering him unconscious. With no help, HHH was left one on one with Brock, which soon meant he too would fall victim to an F-5 and lose the match. After Lesnar left, Randy Orton walked past him and stood on the stage as HHH slowly rose to his feet. He and Orton started to taunt each other and HHH went outside the ring and he and Orton came to blows. It was an all-out brawl on the stage as the two whipped each other into the lighting structures and other fixtures on the stage before they were finally separated by security.

Match #2: Trish Stratus vs. Ivory | One on One Normal Match
Ivory took on Trish Stratus in a bit of a grudge match after the two had cost... themselves their tag match last week. It was Ivory who would come out on top in this bout though, as she hit her facebuster on Trish outside the ring while the referee was on a 5-count and then ran back into the ring as he counted to 10 and picked up the win. After the match a smug Ivory spoke, "Hey Trish, I just beat ya, so I think that means I deserve a shot at that belt." Trish responded, "The way you just won, you don't deserve anything, however if you want a shot at my title you can have it, but let's up the stakes. You win at the Royal Rumble, and you become Women's Champion. If I win? Well if I win, you leave this company for good. You've caused me nothing but trouble these last few weeks and I want you gone, what do you say?"" Ivory hesitated a bit, and replied, "If those are the stakes, fine, I'll take them. You're on, Trish."
Winner: Ivory by count out.

Middle Card Promo: Shawn Michaels | Call Out
The Intercontinental Champion, Shawn Michaels, strutted his way down to the ring to the cheers of the crowd. He stated that he hadn't had a match in a few weeks and he also didn't have an opponent for his championship at the Royal Rumble. While Michaels intended to compete in the Rumble itself, he felt it was only right to also defend his title that night, he said, "And that's why, I'm issuing an open challenge, the first superstar to come down here and accept will get a shot at the Intercontinental Championship, one on one, at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view." There was a pause and then from the speakers blared, "Booyaka, Booyaka!" Rey Mysterio emerged on the stage all smiles and so was Michaels. The two had no beef with each other but they did have history, as Mysterio had knocked HBK out of the King of the Ring tournament all the way back in June. Mysterio came to the ring and said he accepts HBK's challenge and the two shook hands, setting the stage for a thrilling bout for the title.

Main Event: The Rock vs. Goldberg | One on One Normal Match
Before the match could start, Steve Austin came out, much to the surprise of The Rock who thought he had taken him out of commission last week. Austin's knee was heavily wrapped, however, as he sat down next to the announce table at ringside. The match went underway and things were relatively even between Goldberg and The Rock before Austin grabbed the Rock's championship and mocked him and proceeded to walk away with it. The Rock started to go after Austin, shouting at him from the ring ropes to give back his title. Unbeknownst to him, while he did this Goldberg had recovered and when he finally did turn around he was on the receiving end of a Spear and Jackhammer before being pinned 1, 2, 3. Austin laughed at ringside with The Rock's title draped over his shoulder as RAW faded to black.
Winner: Goldberg by pinfall.

January PPV | Boston, MA

Match #1: Randy Orton vs. Triple H | One on One Steel Cage
After the steel cage dropped around Randy Orton and Triple H, we almost immediately saw a more vicious side of the Viper. With The Game finally locked away and no longer able to seek out Evolution for help, the more athletic and skilled Orton took him to task and had the clear advantage throughout the fight. When a pin attempt after a DDT was unsuccessful, Orton began to climb the cage and try to escape to pick up the victory. HHH went after him and they ended up brawling atop the cage, but Orton was the one who would come out on top in the exchange of blows, sending HHH hurtling back to the floor. Orton climbed outside and escaped the cage to pick up the win over his former mentor. After the cage raised, Flair and Batista came out seemingly to help their fallen leader, but instead, Batista lifted him up into a Batista Bomb, leaving him devastated in the middle of the ring. Flair cheered on Batista's actions, but then he too found himself on the receiving end of a Batista Bomb as The Animal walked away from the two legends disgusted by their recent failings. It looks like Evolution is over and these four men might be going their separate ways.
Winner: Randy Orton by escape.

Match #2: Kurt Angle vs. John Cena (c) | One on One Normal Match | United States Championship
Cena has pinfall victories over the likes of Big Show and Shelton Benjamin, but he hasn't been truly tested as United States Champion by one of the absolute best in the wrestling business. He knew that to beat Angle he needed more, and to get that extra boost he... attacked Angle from behind before the match started with a running bulldog. This seemed to give Cena the edge he needed though as Angle never really recovered fully from the attack. While Kurt put Cena in some dangerous situations with submissions throughout the contest, Cena was able to slip out. And eventually he hit his patented Five Knuckle Shuffle and F-U to put away the olympic gold medalist for a huge win.

Match #3: Rey Mysterio vs. Shawn Michaels (c) | One on One Normal Match | Intercontinental Championship
Rey Mysterio and Shawn Michaels absolutely tore the house down. Two of the most exciting superstars in the company put on an absolute show and it was impossible to tell who was going to win at any given time. At one point it looked like Rey was going to win when he hit a 6-1-9 and West Coast Pop, but HBK kicked out at the last moment. Then, HBK had Mysterio lined up for a Sweet Chin Music after hitting him with a Diving Elbow just before, but Rey ducked out of the way just at the right time to avoid being put to sleep. Later on in the match, HBK would again go for the Diving Elbow, but Mysterio got his knees up, damaging his ribs. Rey then went for the 6-1-9 and West Coast Pop combination again but Michaels somehow kicked out again at 2. Undeterred, Mysterio climbed to the top rope again and when HBK rose to his feet hit him with a new move we haven't seen before, the Dragonrana. Mysterio completely flipped the champ over and pulled both legs up to put him down for the 3-count and win the Intercontinental Championship. After losing, HBK shook hands with Rey before walking off but he looked very dejected at having lost the title after just one month as champion.

Match #4: Ivory vs. Trish Stratus (c) | One on One Normal Match | Women's Championship
Ivory was all over Trish from the jump, realizing that her future in WWE rested on her winning this match and becoming champion. But Stratus was simply too good for her in the end. Ivory was more experienced but Trish was more athletic and skilled and eventually she was able to hit Ivory with the Stratusfaction to pin her and retain her championship. This also meant that Ivory had to leave the WWE, and she walked out of the building with some sympathy applause from the crowd.
Winner: Trish Stratus by pinfall.

Match #5: Brothers of Destruction vs. nWo (c) | Two on Two Tag Team | World Tag Team Championships
Both Undertaker and Kane had singles victories over Kevin Nash and Scott Hall respectively in the weeks leading up to the pay-per-view. While the nWo were able to overcome that kind of record at Night of Champions against the Hardy Boyz, the Brothers of Destruction presented an entirely different level of challenge. Both former singles champions, Kane and Taker were relentless, bullying both Hall and Nash throughout the contest. Eventually, Kane had Nash alone in the ring and hit him with a Chokeslam. As Hall rushed in to try to make the save, Undertaker intercepted him and hit him with a Tombstone. Then to add insult to injury, Taker and Kane pinned both men in sync to win the World Tag Team Championships and end the nWo's over 4-month reign as champions.

Match #6: Steve Austin vs. The Rock (c) | One on One Normal Match | Undisputed Championship
Austin and The Rock have carried the WWE for over half a decade as the two biggest stars in all of wrestling entertainment. And here tonight, they were set off to prove once and for all, who really was the best. And not only that, to determine who would be the rightful, Undisputed WWE Champion at the end of the night. Both superstars had engaged in some antics in recent weeks to gain a psychological advantage, but now it was time to get down to business. The match started with both men feeling each other out with basic moves and earning some one counts on pins. That was until seemingly out of nowhere, Austin hit Rock with a Stone Cold Stunner that the champion just managed to kick out of at 2 and a half. It wasn't long after that Rock would return the favour with a Rock Bottom of his own, but Austin showed similar resiliency to kick out as well. The two superstars continued with a back and forth after that, and a series of Irish Whips almost resulted in Austin catching Rock with another Stunner that surely would've ended, but The Rock was able to avoid it and clothesline Austin instead. With Austin lying in the center of the ring, The Rock stared out at the MILLIONS (everywhere) of The Rock's fans and tossed his elbow into the crowd before hitting a devastating People's Elbow. The Rock then pinned Austin 1-2-3 to retain the Undisputed Championship and cement himself as the greatest superstar of this era. After the match, The Rock helped Austin to his feet and the two showed good sportsmanship, shaking hands and raising the title together to a raucous applause from the crowd.

Yeah Edge hasn't done much since this started but now this means he gets a shot at the title at Wrestlemania. Will be interesting to see the build-up to that.

February Week 1 | Detroit, MI

Show Opener Promo: Eddie Guerrero | Call Out
Eddie Guerrero took center-ring to start off RAW is WAR, and called out his good friend, Rey Mysterio, to congratulate him on winning the Intercontinental Championship at the Royal Rumble. The two celebrated a bit together and shot the shit before Eddie popped the question, "So now that you're champion, who's going to be your next challenger?" Rey smiled and shrugged, then Eddie pointed at himself, "How about me, huh ese? We've been friends a long time, I'm a former intercontinental champion as well, let's see who the best of the two of us is?" Rey thought about it for a second and then agreed to give his friend at shot at the belt. The two shook hands and then parted ways.

Match #1: Edge & Christian vs. nWo | Two on Two Tag Team
Fresh off his Royal Rumble win, Edge opted not to come out with Christian, instead doing his entrance on his own while Christian did the same, since he would now be pursuing a path as a singles star. They were still a tag team, however, and seemed happy to continue working together again tonight. Edge started the match but quickly tagged in Christian for a double team maneuver on Scott Hall. Christian started to go to work on Hall with Edge keeping Nash at bay on the outside. Eventually, Edge called to be tagged in again, but Christian waved him off. He hit a big Killswitch followed by a spear on Hall and pinned him to get the victory. After the match, Edge came into the ring, spun Christian around and started yelling at him asking why he didn't make the tag. Christian said he didn't need Edge's help to get the win and shoved him out of the way before leaving the ring on his own.
Winners: Edge & Christian by pinfall.

Match #2: Hardy Boyz vs. Brothers of Destruction | Two on Two Tag Team
Jeff Hardy had an extremely impressive showing in the Royal Rumble, and looked to carry that momentum into this match, but it was his brother Matt who would get things started. Kane was dominating Matt early until he was able to get to Jeff for the tag then momentum shifted. Showing a lot more teamwork than Edge and Christian earlier, Jeff tagged Matt back in while riding the momentum and he hit Kane with a Side Effect before whipping him into the corner. The Hardy Boyz then hit Kane with the Extreme Combination and Jeff tripped up Undertaker giving Matt enough time to cover Kane for a massive win over the newly crowned tag champions.

Match #3: John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan | One on One Normal Match
John Cena was feeling cocky fresh off a win against Kurt Angle at the Royal Rumble and came out to issue a challenge to anyone on the roster. Out came Daniel Bryan, and while Cena laughed at the thought of Bryan even daring to challenge him, the young upstart launched at him and started beating the holy hell out of him as the bell rang. Bryan continued his assault, eventually catching Cena with his patented Yes Kicks before lining him up for the Running Knee to potentially win the match. Cena ducked under the running knee though and Bryan went flying into the turnbuckle. Before he knew what hit him, the US Champ hoisted him up on his shoulders and hit him with the F-U to get the victory. After winning, Cena still looked pissed off and demanded a mic, "You think you can challenge me, punk? Oh you gon learn some respect today, boy." Cena grabbed a chair and delivered shot after shot to the defenseless Bryan before hitting a second F-U directly on the chair, leaving Bryan motionless in the center of the ring.

Main Event: Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle | One on One Normal Match | Elimination Chamber Qualifier
Vince McMahon had announced earlier in the night that five of the six competitors for the Elimination Chamber match at the end of the month for the WWE Undisputed Championship would be chosen through a series of qualifier matches, one each week leading up to the pay-per-view. The Rock had already qualified for the other spot by virtue of being the champion. Vince announced that the first match would be the main event tonight and feature two guys who lost their Royal Rumble matches, but deserved a shot at the chamber due to their legendary status within the company, Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle. This match alternated between being a more technical bout at times, which suited Angle, and a high-flying act, which favoured HBK. At one point, Angle was able to get HBK in an Ankle Lock in the middle of the ring, but he didn't cinch it in fully and Michaels broke free. Later, HBK hit Angle with a Diving Elbow and then followed that up with a Sweet Chin Music for what looked like a certain victory, but Angle kicked out at 2.9. HBK kept up the pressure though, hitting another Diving Elbow, which Angle kicked out of. HBK was a bit fatigued from the pace, and while he did catch Angle with a Sweet Chin Music again, he didn't catch him cleanly and it wasn't enough to keep Angle down for three. It was then Kurt's turn to take a bit of control as he took things to the mat and worked over HBK. Then it was Angle's turn to be the showstopper, as he hit a rare Diving Moonsault from the top rope. He then got super hyped and pulled down both his straps before hitting HBK with an Angle Slam. One, two... HBK kicked out! Angle couldn't believe it and in a state of a bit of panic, went up to the top rope again looking for another diving attack. This time though, HBK kipped up and hit Angle clean on the chin with a Sweet Chin Music, knocking him out cold. He covered Angle to earn a coveted 2nd spot in the Elimination Chamber match.
