Match #1: Kane vs. Voodoo (c)| One on One Extreme Rules | Hardcore Championship
Before the show started, Vince McMahon came out to make a major announcement, "We've had a lot of changes to RAW as you know over the past few days. Well, I'd like to make one more. With Austin gone, I don't want the Attitude Era to totally die, so to keep its spirit alive, the Hardcore Championship will be defended every single night on both RAW and Smackdown!. I want it changing hands and I want superstars fighting and clawing to both keep it and gain it. And with that said, I'd like to introduce the man Voodoo will be defending the championship against tonight... our newest acquisition, one half of the Brothers of Destruction, Kane!"

Voodoo came out ultra-aggressive to start the match and never even resorted to using weapons. He simply just... beat down Kane. The Big Red Machine never really got much offense in as Voodoo made short work of him with a two-handed chokeslam and powerful Voodoo Bomb to retain the belt. During Voodoo's post-match celebration, Kane tried to attack him from behind but Voodoo dodged and then sprayed some kind of smoke substance in the eyes of Kane, forcing him to retreat from the ring. Who the hell can stop Voodoo's unbeaten run with the belt?

Match #2: Beth Phoenix vs. Lita | One on One Normal Match
Beth Phoenix took on Lita in non-title action, while Mickie James, who'd been a bit of a thorn in the backside of Phoenix recently, sat ringside to spectate. Mid-way through the match, Beth and Lita got into an exchange of punches, but it was the stronger Phoenix who would eventually win it and clothesline Lita out of the ring. She went out after Lita, but got distracted when Mickie James said a few choice words to her. With Beth's back turned, Lita tried to take advantage, but Phoenix was ready for her and dodged the attack, causing Lita to run straight into Mickie James instead. Beth laughed mockingly, then threw Lita back into the ring and hit the Glam Slam on her to pick up the victory.

Middle Card Promo: Edge
Edge got in the ring to address the WWE Universe, extremely smug about his victory over Goldberg saying, "Look if I can beat Goldberg folks, I can beat anyone on this roster. In fact, I'm so confident that I can do exactly that, I'll let ANYONE from backstage come down here right now and make a case for a title match with me at the next pay-per-view, Bad Blood!" There was silence for a few moments then "I Hear Voices" started to play and RAW's newest signing, Randy Orton came down to the ring to a burst of cheers from the crowd. Orton waited for the crowd to die down then spoke, "I appreciate the warm reception. So Edge, you think you can beat ANYONE on this roster huh? Well why don't we find out if you beat me, and you put that (pointing to the World Heavyweight Championship) on the line?" Edge laughed and then pointed at Orton, jabbing him in the chest with his finger, "You've got no chance, kid, get to the back of the---." RKO! Orton didn't even let the champ finish his sentence, hitting him with a devastating RKO that left him motionless in the middle of the ring. The Viper glared at his prey and then picked up the belt and held it high above his head.

Main Event: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Chris Jericho | One on One Normal Match
Another newcomer to RAW was set for singles action, with the former Intercontinental Champion, Chris Jericho, taking on the newly crowned United States Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura. Jericho was wary of Nakamura's unorthodox style and looked to put him away early, going at him very aggressively from the opening bell. But things started to fall apart for Y2J when he went for the Walls of Jericho. He simply hadn't done enough damage to Nakamura to lock in the hold properly and Shinsuke twisted his way out of it, whipping Jericho backwards into the ropes in the process. When Jericho rebounded back, Nakamura caught him and hit him with an Exploder Suplex and much like he had done the previous night against Cena, followed that with the Kinshasa to knock out Y2J and get the win. Nakamura's post-match celebrations were cut short, however, when The Nation appeared on the stage. They did not approach the ring, but all three members, particularly the leader, Mansa stared a hole into Nakamura and raised their fists in unison. A cautious Nakamura stayed in the ring, unsure of what to make of the display.

Show Opener Promo: AJ Styles
The new Mr. Money in the Bank, AJ Styles came out to start Smackdown and address the WWE Universe. He started by saying that he was happy to have won the ladder match to have a guaranteed shot at the WWE Championship whenever and wherever he wants. However, he came to this company specifically to contend in the CRUISERWEIGHT division and wanted to call out someone who has broken the trust that the WWE fans gave to him, the former champion, Rey Mysterio. Rey told AJ that if he has any intentions of taking the Cruiserweight Championship, he better try to do it by cashing in the briefcase, because there's no way he's taking it off of him in a fair fight, "Look what I did to Daniel Bryan, homes, you wanna be next?" AJ smiled and said, "You know what Rey, maybe I WILL cash this in on you for that title. But if I will, you won't see it coming. I want you to live in fear while you have that belt". With that, Styles left the ring, appearing to have gotten inside the head a little bit of the new champ.

Match #1: American Alpha vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins | Two on Two Tag Team
The new WWE Tag Team Champions, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas came out flanked by the new WWE Champion Kurt Angle and Donny Zenk. Angle introduced them as a new unstoppable faction, American Alpha. Benjamin jumped on the mic and stated that any tag team in the locker room could come out and try their luck against him and Haas. It was the new team of Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins that answered the call. They started off the match hot, and showed more energy than American Alpha, allowing them to put the champs on the defensive. But everything went awry when the ref was inadvertently knocked down. Zenk got involved, jumping off the top rope to hit Hawkins with a Hurracanrana, while Kurt Angle hit Zack Ryder with the Angle Slam on the outside. When the ref got up he was none the wiser, and all he saw was the Grand Amplitude delivered to Hawkins by the champs and the ensuing pinfall to win the matchup.

Match #2: Bobby Lashley vs. Shawn Michaels | One on One Normal Match | Intercontinental Championship
Bobby Lashley came out and stated that he wanted to be a fighting champion, defending the Intercontinental Championship and not using cheap tactics like Jericho before him. In the spirit of that he issued an open challenge for the belt tonight and out came the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels to a massive applause from the crowd. The show didn't stop there for the showstopper as when the match started he came out like a house on fire. HBK was all over Lashley and had the champion reeling for most of the match, except when Lashley was able to take him down temporarily with a few big power moves. Michaels laid Lashley flat with a suplex then climbed the top rope and hit the Diving Elbow Drop on him for a two count. Without hesitation, HBK went to the opposite corner and started tuning up the band for the Sweet Chin Music. He was just about to hit it but a surprisingly nimble Lashley dodged it, then hit HBK with a suplex of his own. It was Lashley's turn to wait in the corner now, and he did, before delivering a massive spear to HBK and pinning him to retain his belt. After the match, HBK and Lashley shook hands in a show of good faith, but Apollo appeared on the stage. He stated he was disgusted by how HBK had just been awarded a title match for no reason and that there would be repercussions for this for Lashley in the coming weeks.

Main Event: Prototype vs. Christian vs. Voodoo | Triple Threat TLC | Hardcore Championship
Prototype and Christian were both fully aware of how dominant Voodoo has been as hardcore championship, and thus decided to team up early in the contest to take him out of the picture. Once they whipped Voodoo to the outside, the two started to get into fisticuffs with both men vying for control of the ladder to climb and win the title. It was Prototype who would get win this initial foray, whipping Christian to the outside to join Voodoo while setting up the ladder. Voodoo when he got to his feet, though, seemed more interested in inflicting punishment on Christian outside the ring, whipping him into the steel steps instead of preventing Prototype's ascent up the ladder. Eventually Voodoo clued in though and rushed back into the ring. He clubbed Prototype in the back three times but he stayed on and kept trying to retrieve the belt. Voodoo repositioned himself though and lifted Prototype up and off the ladder and powerbombed him straight into the mat. It looked like Voodoo now had a clear path to retain but in came Christian, who hit Voodoo from behind with the Killswitch and then shoved him out of the ring. With both Prototype and Voodoo out of the picture. Christian scaled the ladder and unhooked the Hardcore Title to finally bring an end to Voodoo's run as champion.

Match #1: Rob Van Dam vs. Christian (c)| One on One Extreme Rules | Hardcore Championship
Christian definitely had a tall task ahead of him in his first Hardcore Championship defense, facing the original king of ECW and hardcore in Rob Van Dam. RVD surprisingly didn’t bother with weapons though, instead opting to just outwrestle Christian and it worked a treat. He almost put Christian away early with the Rolling Thunder and a Frog Splash, but Christian kicked out. RVD then got into another sequence of dominance that ended with a Diving Moonsault, but Christian kicked out of that as well. That frustrated RVD and he paid for getting distracted with a Killswitch when Christian recovered, but he too would show the resilience to kick out at two. Christian, looking to up the ante, went to get a table from under the ring, but that backfired. RVD got up and knocked it out of his hands, then knocked him out with a kick and laid him on top of the table. Van Dam then hit another Frog Splash, this time putting Christian through the table, and there was no way he was kicking out of that. RVD new Hardcore Champion, with Christian’s reign over after just three days.

Match #2: Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James | One on One Normal Match
Mickie and Beth got into an exchange of fists early in this one and Mickie surprisingly was able to gain the upper hand and knock Beth out of the ring. An infuriated Phoenix was frustrated and tried to simply walk out on the match but Mickie was having none of it. She went after Beth and forced her back into the ring to continue the match. Mickie then tried to knock Beth out with a Mick Kick, but accidentally hit the referee instead. While Mickie checked on the injured ref, Beth made a move to grab a bat from under the ring. By the time Mickie noticed, she was getting clocked over the head with it. Beth then hit her with a Glam Slam, by which point the referee had come to, and pinned her to win the matchup.

Match #3: Mansa w/ The Nation vs. Chris Jericho | One on One Normal Match
Mansa faced off against Chris Jericho. He was wrestling with a much more aggressive style since becoming the leader of this faction, The Nation, and it showed. He was vicious with Jericho, looking to maim and destroy the former Intercontinental Champion and recent RAW import. Jericho didn’t go down easily, but his efforts were rendered in vain when Mansa hit him with a powerful Superkick and then the Cutter to put him away. After the match, the Nation ganged up on Jericho and started beating him up before Shinsuke Nakamura came out to make the save. That just resulted in him getting beaten up as well, and after that happened Mansa spoke, “Shinsuke, you were not the target. But since you choose to aid the endeavours of the oppressor, you will now join him in his suffering. That starts with me taking your championship.”

Main Event: Randy Orton vs. Edge w/ Lita | One on One Normal Match
Randy Orton was supposed to be taking on Edge in a non-title match, but the Rated-R superstar had other plans. He came out to the stage and stated, “Randy, like I said last week, you’ve done nothing to earn a match against me. Maybe if you can beat this guy, I’ll give you a shot.” Shortly later out came Batista, Orton’s former Evolution stablemate. The Animal rushed the ring and the bell rang to get the match underway with Orton being caught by surprise immediately. Randy spent most of the match on the defensive being overpowered, but when Batista went for the killshot with the Spear, Orton finally made his stand. He jumped over the Spear attempt and when Batista came charging back the other way, hit him out of nowhere with an RKO to get the victory in somewhat of an upset. After the match Edge came out and mockingly applauded Orton and demanded he get in the ring and come take a beating as well.
