Match #1: Faarooq w/ JBL vs. Triple H | One on One :threehalfstar:
One half of the APA, Faarooq, with JBL in his corner, faced off against the formidable HHH. Despite HHH's superior one-on-one wrestling skills, Faarooq employed cunning distraction tactics orchestrated by JBL to keep himself in the match. As the bout intensified, Faarooq found a crucial opening, executing a devastating Dominator suplex on HHH outside the ring. The timely maneuver led to a count-out victory, leaving HHH frustrated and furious. However, the night took a dramatic turn when Faarooq and JBL aimed to deliver a brutal assault on HHH with chairs. Just as it seemed that the attack was inevitable, the arena erupted with the arrival of a surprise savior, none other than Shawn Michaels! Michaels rushed to the ring, thwarting the impending attack and protecting his longtime ally, HHH. The electrifying moment unleashed a wave of emotions, setting the stage for new alliances and rivalries to emerge.

Match #2: Chyna vs. Stacy Keibler vs. Trish Stratus vs. Lita | Fatal 4-Way | Women's Championship :threehalfstar:
In an explosive Fatal 4-Way match, the dominant Chyna proved her prowess by besting Trish Stratus, high-flying Lita, and captivating Stacy Keibler in an intense battle for women's supremacy. From the opening bell, chaos ensued as Chyna unleashed her unmatched power, delivering thunderous slams and punishing strikes. Meanwhile, Trish utilized her cunning skills, evading Chyna's onslaught and launching calculated attacks. Lita's aerial prowess was on full display, sending her opponents flying with breathtaking high-flying maneuvers. Not to be outdone, Stacy showcased her agility, executing impressive acrobatics. As the match reached its climax, Chyna's strength proved insurmountable. She managed to overpower Trish, hoisting her high above her head and delivering a crushing gorilla press slam. Chyna capitalized on a distracted Lita and Stacy and went for the pin before Stacy Keibler could realize and try to break it up, pinning Trish to win the WWE Women's Championship.

Match #3: Randy Orton vs. Edge | One on One :threestar:
The IC Champ Randy Orton faced off against Mr. Money in the Bank, Edge. In what seemed to be a show of respect between two heelish superstars at the start of the match, Orton offered a handshake to Edge but pulled it away and slapped Edge instead. That pissed off Edge and the rage fueled the Rated-R superstar to an eventual win when he countered Orton's RKO into a spear to get the 3-count

Match #4: Batista vs. Eddie Guerrero | One on One :fourstar:
Batista is continually on a mission to prove that he is a dominant Undisputed Champion, having held the belt for over half a year now since winning the title at Survivor Series last year. Eddie Guerrero gave him more than he bargained for in this match as Latino Heat's speed and craftiness made it very difficult for Batista to hit him with the powerhouse moves he was used to putting down his opponents with. As a result, momentum started to shift in Eddie's favour and after hitting an impressive Three Amigos on Batista, he went for the Frog Splash, but the champ moved out of the way just at the last second. A dazed Guerrero stumbled to his feet before getting hit with a Batista Bomb as Batista picked up the victory. Following the match though none other than Brock Lesnar, who had just vacated the United States Championship (set to be competed for in the main event tonight) because he wanted to pursue bigger things, appeared on the stage. Lesnar called out Batista, "Yeah you may have beaten that little guy, Eddie Guerrero, but why not try taking on someone your own size? Me."

Main Event: Boogeyman vs. Goldberg vs. John Cena vs. Hurricane vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Umaga | Battle Royal :threestar:
The match started off and John Cena, was almost immediately eliminated by Boogeyman. Boogeyman did a menacing dance to celebrate but that was a big mistake as Rey Mysterio kicked him in the back to send him into the ropes and then sent him flying over them with a second dropkick. From there a lot more actual wrestling happened before the next elimination as the two smaller stars, Mysterio and Hurricane, focused on each other while Umaga and Goldberg faced off. Goldberg was getting the upper hand on the Samoan, but after missing a Spear attempt, Umaga was able to hit him with the Samoan Spike and dump Goldberg, most people's favourite to win this match, over the top rope. Meanwhile, Hurricane was engaged in a fast, high flying bout with Rey Mysterio. Mysterio knocked Hurricane down and got him into 6-1-9 position, but foolishly went for the 6-1-9. Hurricane caught him as he was on the outside and then just pushed him over to send him out of the match. The match was down to The Hurricane and Umaga. Umaga was spent from having taken on Goldberg and it showed as Hurricane was able to use his speed to outwit him. He hit a series of running attacks before eventually landing his patented Superman Punch on the Samoan superstar. That dazed Umaga for long enough for The Hurricane to toss him over the top rope and pick up an improbable win. Stand back! The United States Champion is coming through!

Match #1: Randy Orton & Edge vs. Syxx & Undertaker | One on One :fourstar:
Orton and Edge argued before this match over who should start with Orton winning the argument. He never tagged in Edge throughout the contest, effectively attempting to take on Syxx and Taker on his own. Orton looked like he was about to lose when Taker hit him with a Chokeslam but Edge ran into the ring and speared Taker to save the matchup. Later, Syxx tagged back into the matchup and Edge took care of Taker on the outside with another Spear. Orton was able to hit Syxx with the RKO to pin him for three and get the win. After the match, Orton offered Edge a handshake for his help, seemingly genuine this time, but Edge grabbed his hand, whipped him into the ropes and then hit him with a devastating Spear on the rebound leaving the IC Champ crippled in the center of the ring.

Match #2: The Hurricane vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin | One on One :fourstar:
The Hurricane faced a big test in his first match as United States Champion, taking on none other than the Texas Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin dominated the match early on, showing why he was a multi time WWE Champion and possibly the greatest superstar of the Attitude Era. However, Hurricane wasn't going to go down easily as this was a NEW era, the Ruthless Aggression Era and the masked superstar showed that by getting very physical with Austin and matching his strength. Hurricane hit Austin with the Eye of the Hurricane and immediately followed that up with a Superman Punch but could only keep Austin down for 2.5. He then went his other finisher, the Slingshot Lariat, but Austin dodged it and hit Hurricane with a Stunner. It looked to be all but over but Hurricane miraculously kicked out leaving Austin and the crowd stunned (no pun intended). Austin picked up Hurricane and readied another Stunner but Hurricane caught his kick to the guts, spun Austin around and hit another Eye of the Hurricane, this time putting Austin down for all three seconds to get a major upset win. AFter the match Hurricane was celebrating but the jubilation was cut short when Umaga, the man he threw over the top rope to win the United States Championship, appeared on the stage and challenged him for the belt.

Match #3: Chyna vs. Molly Holly | One on One :twostar:
Chyna squashed Molly Holly in this one. Barely letting her opponent get going at all in an easy victory that was finished off with a pedigree. Major statement from the new Women's Champion in his first match since winning the belt.

Match #4: DX vs. APA | Tag Team :threehalfstar:
The irreverent duo of Triple H and Shawn Michaels unleashed their trademark chaos, outmaneuvering and outwitting the no-nonsense aggression of the APA. As the ring echoed with taunts and teamwork, DX's unrelenting offense proved decisive. With a perfectly timed Sweet Chin Music and Pedigree combination, DX secured the victory, leaving the WWE Universe entertained and exhilarated by their unapologetic antics.

Main Event: Brock Lesnar vs. Batista | One on One :fourhalfstar:
Brock Lesnar has already beaten Batista before for the United States Championship, and now he's after his Undisputed Championship. Brock was a force in this matchup early, outdoing Batista with his superior technical wrestling ability. The two got into an exchange of punches at one point which The Beast won, knocking Batista out of the ring. An irritated Batista tried to walk away from the match entirely, but Lesnar was not having it and rolled him back into the ring after slamming him into the ringpost. The match continued with Batista getting F-5'd and managing to kick out. Shortly later, Batista caught Brock with a Spear and a Batista Bomb but Brock kicked out as well. This enraged The Animal who went to grab a chair and just started smacking Lesnar over the head with it with sickening strikes. The referee stopped the match but Batista kept going until his challenger was bloodied and badly hurt.

WWE Scraps Tag Team Division, Expands Singles Roster

Image
In a seismic shift that has sent shockwaves through the wrestling community, WWE has announced the discontinuation of the World Tag Team titles. This decision comes in response to recent ratings challenges, prompting WWE to revamp its programming to ensure continued engagement for its dedicated fanbase. While the World Tag Team titles have long symbolized the spirit of tag team wrestling, WWE's evolving landscape demands dynamic changes. The decision to retire these prestigious championships will enable the company to redirect its focus towards creating compelling storylines and showcasing the talents of individual superstars.

The reigning champions, Faarooq and JBL, have been stripped of their titles, marking the end of an era for the longstanding partnership. Furthermore, the dissolution of the titles opens up a world of possibilities for tag teams to split up, allowing individual stars within them to shine brightly in the singles division. This transformation means that some of WWE's most iconic duos will now see their members stepping into the spotlight as formidable solo competitors. The irreverent camaraderie of DX, represented by Triple H and Shawn Michaels, will now see the two legendary performers pursuing individual glory. Similarly, the nWo's Razor Ramon and Diesel, known for their dominance as a team, will now forge ahead as singles competitors, ready to captivate the audience with their distinct personas. The departure of the titles will also mean the likes of Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner, previously part of the Steiner Brothers, will unleash his solo prowess and charisma in the ring.

As WWE evolves to meet the evolving tastes of its audience, this transformative step is poised to bring renewed energy and excitement. The absence of the World Tag Team titles marks not the end, but a new beginning, where individual stars will rise, rivalries will ignite, and the WWE universe will witness a fresh chapter in the ongoing saga of sports entertainment. The WWE Universe now stands on the precipice of change, eagerly anticipating the birth of new rivalries, the ascension of single stars, and the promise of uncharted storylines that will define this new era in WWE history.
