I finally bit the bullet and got Game Pass on PC to play College Football games again. Granted, it doesn't have CFB26, but 25 will do me just fine. Screenshots & Graphics won't be super frequent, as I have to stream the game and my internet isn't good enough to make it look pristine. Also, Madden is on the backburner for right now, but I will end up starting the Jets franchise eventually, I promise.
During the 2023-2024 off-season, changes were made at Kent State. After a dismal 1-11 season, their athletic director fired their Head of Football Operations, Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Defensive Coordinator. The university understood the need for a culture shift, which has become something of a cliche in the world of football. Knowing that they wouldn’t be able to bring in any of the top executive candidates, they looked internally. They promoted a former star quarterback of the 90’s as their Head of Football Operations.
Chris Townsend was Mr. Kent State when he was playing. He was, and probably still is, the best football player this program has ever had. After a solid career as a player in the NFL, he moved to executive roles within Kent State’s football team. Now, he has his shot at overseeing the entire program. His first course of action was fleshing out this coaching staff. Interviews with FBS Coordinators and FCS Head Coaches went poorly, with no coach showing ambition to build a program. That was until Adonis Sincere walked in the office.
Sincere was never a gifted football player. He still loved the game, though, and soaked up as much information as he could learn about it. After his decision to attend graduate school at Kent State for business, he bumped into former Head Coach Sean Lewis. After a lengthy conversation about the program and its impact on the students, Lewis offered Adonis a grad assistant spot on the staff.
Fast forward a few months, and he was already promoted to Assistant HC/QB Coach. He built his reputation as a personable QB coach at Kent State, a position he held until 2021. After that, he received an Offensive Coordinator role at FCS Montana, where he led a high-powered offense to two FCS titles. Now, in 2024, he finds himself as the head coach of Kent State after just 2 years away from the program.
In their introductory press conference, Townsend praised his ambition to turn Kent State around.
“He’s not just here for a promotion. He wants to build something here, something tangible. Not just collecting a paycheck coaching the worst team in the FBS. We won’t stand for that anymore, especially not him.”
Townsend smiled, and then gave the media something to talk about.
“You know, college football is a sport of eras. The Bear Bryant era, the state of Florida’s era of dominance, modern Alabama. We’re here to make this Kent State’s era.”
This confidence was infectious among those involved in the program. They finally had someone that wanted to be at Kent State. This program wasn’t just a stepping stone anymore. They now had roots.
However, with such little time before the season, there was no time to clammer with excitement over the program's new toy. Work had to be done. That work starts on the recruiting trail.

Nice I started with Kent State on 25. Roster is better than you’d expect. Good luck!

As your fellow Jets fan on this site I understand not wanting to jump into the pool full of shit & fix the team.
That being said, good luck with this one. Maybe if you enjoy it enough you'll install it directly to your console for the hi-res.

Yeah, just a bit worried about the lack of athleticism in the QB room and secondary. Thank you!
Yeah. The team is a shit show right now. Unfortunately, no console right now, so Game Pass is my only option until I bite the bullet on getting a PS5.

The excitement over Sincere’s appointment as Head Coach appears to have only been internal. Recruits still don’t understand why they would pick up the phone when they saw it was Kent State’s coach calling. Hell, they might let out a little laugh if they weren’t careful. There were a bunch of 3* prospects who had Kent State on their list, but usually in the bottom 5 of their top 10. From what we’re hearing on the recruiting trail, Kent State appears to have a handful of 4 stars from the surrounding states on their board. “Go big or go home” appears to be the motto for Adonis Sincere this year. However, with a full shortlist of 35 players, Sincere is casting his net as far as possible. “We want these kids to know about us. If they don’t know yet, they will.”

Freshman JD Sherrod named Kent State QB1
After a three way battle in spring for the QB1 job, JD Sherrod appears to have won out. He will be the starting QB when the Golden Flashes travel east to Pittsburgh to face the Panthers at Acrisure Stadium.
"JD is going to need time to develop, but that development can only come through getting reps. We need him to get those reps to develop into the QB we think he can be." said Coach Sincere.
The Kent State locker room has rallied around their freshman QB, and his enigmatic WR1 Crishon McCray has nicknamed him "Just Dots". JD seemed embarrassed when asked about the nickname, but he couldn't hide his smile when Crishon came over and threw his towel on him. The chemistry between these two seems to be electric, and that's a sign of hope for this Kent State team.
