Houston, TX. - CJ Stroud may have led the Houston Texans to the first points of their clash against the 10-1 Steelers at NRG Stadium on Sunday, with an epic 14-play opening drive ending with a 21-yard field goal, but it was Leonard Lawry and the Steelers who got the last laugh.

Lawry threw for 335 yards and five touchdowns in the blowout win over Houston, tossing four of the five in the first half as the Steelers hit the locker room withi a daunting 28-10 lead.

To add insult to injury, DK Metcalf found the endzone before the half with a 15-yard touchdown to beat the clock and erase any momentum the Texans had, then double dipped personally with a 47-yard touchdown that broke the spirit of the Texans.

CJ Stroud would lead a final touchdown drive late in the third quarter, but it was clear that the Steelers and Texans were playing at different levels throughout the contest.

The win moves Pittsburgh to an impressive 11-1. With a late bye week to get healthy, the Pittsburgh Steelers are shaping into the most complete team in the AFC at perhaps the perfect time.

Kelvin Banks Jr Inks Massive Extension To Remain In Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA. - The Pittsburgh Steelers used their bye week productively, announcing a four-year, $132 million extension with offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. that secures one of the franchise's most important pieces heading into what promises to be a pivotal offseason.

Banks Jr. was one of two starting tackles — along with Troy Fautanu — entering the final year of their respective deals, and Khan had been clear throughout the season that retaining at least one of them was among the organization's highest priorities. Seattle, WA. - It was not pretty. It rarely is at Lumen Field in December. But the Pittsburgh Steelers found a way, as 12-1 teams tend to do.

Pittsburgh outscored Seattle 24-0 after halftime to turn a messy, rain-soaked first half into a commanding 31-13 victory—the Steelers' sixth consecutive win and a result that sets up a potentially season-defining showdown next week at Acrisure Stadium.

Leonard Lawry threw two first-half interceptions, both overthrows that Scheelhaase attributed to the conditions rather than his quarterback's mechanics. Lawry, who grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, was more colorful in his own assessment.

"I ain't never played in a downpour like that, not gonna lie," he said with a laugh. "Once I got my feet wet, literally, things went a little smoother."

Smoother is an understatement for what Lawry produced in the second half. He finished with 213 passing yards and two touchdowns, both to DK Metcalf, including the go-ahead score late in the third quarter that broke the game open and gave Pittsburgh the foothold they needed to pull away.

Seattle's offense fared no better in the conditions, though their struggles had considerably less to do with the weather and everything to do with Pittsburgh's front seven. The Steelers recorded a staggering nine sacks on the afternoon—two and a half from T.J. Watt—leaving Julian Sayin scrambling from the opening snap and rarely finding clean throws to work with. A 64-yard jet sweep to Kenneth Walker III on Seattle's first possession accounted for more than a third of the Seahawks' total offense, a damning illustration of how thoroughly Pittsburgh controlled the line of scrimmage throughout.

Seattle's best opportunity to retake the lead came early in the fourth quarter, trailing 17-13. Sayin mixed Walker runs and a gutsy personal scramble to work his way into the red zone, but three consecutive rushing attempts were swallowed up by Pittsburgh's defense. Forced to throw on fourth down, Sayin found JSN open in the corner of the end zone, but put too much air under the pass. Joey Porter Jr., who had been beaten initially, recovered in time to swat the ball away from Smith-Njigba's grasp and force the turnover on downs.

Two plays later, Quinshon Judkins ripped off a 44-yard run that effectively ended the suspense. He added two fourth-quarter touchdowns to close out the scoring and send Pittsburgh home with another road victory tucked away.

The Steelers return to Acrisure Stadium next week for a pivotal home matchup against the 9-3 Indianapolis Colts. A Pittsburgh victory would extend the win streak to seven games and clinch the AFC's number one overall seed.
