Brother, did you just put the controller down at the end of that Tennessee game and go to the gym?

I'm sorry, does that say 612 passing yards?

these last two games the QB has been on some bullshit. Receivers teleporting to the ball, running away from the guy in coverage, and then breaking at least three tackles on every catch. I'm going to chalk it up to the QBs - and Tennessee had 4 receivers with 98 speed - but god damn, it's annoying

Oklahoma Dominates the Fourth Quarter To Spoil LSU's Senior Night
Boone Tillman // Sooner Born • Published: November 29th, 2031
Despite having the SEC Championship Game already secured, the Oklahoma Sooners took the field at Tiger Stadium determined not to roll over for the LSU Tigers, dominating the fourth quarter in a 49-30 victory to move them to 11-1 on the season.
For much of the game, presumed #1 overall pick Grant Yates and Sooners' QB Markelle Nickey traded jabs. After Grant Yates orchestrated a brisk final drive of the first half, the Sooners entered the locker room with a narrow 21-17 lead.
LSU would quickly capture the lead, albeit briefly, to open the third quarter after Keilan Lewis beat Gordon Paul to the edge and outpaced the Sooners defense for a 40 yard touchdown run. Nickey was unfazed, promptly marching the Sooners back into the end zone behind a 9-yard touchdown pass to Dillon Brooks to retake the lead for good.
Nickey would toss another touchdown to Maurice Lucky—who now has 17 touchdowns on the season—for good measure early in the fourth, but Grant Yates wasn't done yet. Yates proclaimed before the game he was going to give the home crowd a show, and despite the loss he lived up to his promise. Yates found a streaking Max McCareins for a 65-yard touchdown, but after a failed two-point conversion they were left staring at a five point hole.
That five-point deficit grew to 12 after Dillon Slye sliced through the Tigers defense for a 30-yard touchdown. While Yates was spectacular in his final game at Tiger Stadium; his own teammates let him down. The final two LSU drives both ended in fumbles, one returned 52 yards for a touchdown by Gordon Paul, as the Tigers left their own stadium with their tails between their legs.

Question One - Sean Julius (Reveille): "Grant Yates promised a show for the fans and he delivered, despite the loss. It marks the second straight game your defense has looked overmatched in the passing game. How big of a concern is that for you going into the SEC Championship Game?"
Armando Leon: "You can't take two games, against some of the best quarterbacks in the SEC, and overreact to harshly. We made some great plays in this game, but so did Grant. In the end, we made better plays, because we got the win. Do you like seeing the ball sail over the defense? Hell no. But we still have the utmost confidence in our secondary. It's not every week that you play a Heisman contender and follow it up by facing the presumed #1 overall pick."
Question Two - Meg Semental (SEC Network): "The Iron Bowl will kick off in a few hours, Coach. Is your team going to host a watch party so they all find out together who they'll be facing in Atlanta in two weeks time?"
Armando Leon: "The boys have something lined up, Nick organized it, but I won't be there. I'll be at home, with my family, relishing the brief break before we return to the grind. Whoever we get in the SEC Championship Game is of no consequence to me. We're going to prepare to beat them, regardless of who it is."
Question Three - James McDavid (OU Daily): "It seemed like injuries were once again going to hamper your rushing attack, Coach. Tyler Ryder was already out and midway through the game, Isaac Adcock left with a reported rib injury. What can you say about the performance of Dillon Slye under those circumstances?"
Armando Leon: "Slye is a gamer. He made a position change early into his career and he's been electric, but we can't forget he's still learning the position. I know he's been a bit maligned for his numbers running between the tackles, but he played grown man football today. He knew we needed him to answer the bell, and he did it emphatically. But more importantly, he did it without losing his confidence in space either. He helped break the game open, no doubt."

I'll be the first to admit it, I was not as bullish on Dillon Slye the running back. But I take back EVERYTHING I said before about Dillon Slye. That's what winners do. They step up when the going gets tough and put their foot down. 200 yards of total offense and two tuddies!? Give that man some water, cause he's on fire.
I don't like what I'm seeing out of the defense lately, but you also can't ignore the facts. Two weeks, two Heisman-level quarterbacks. We made plays when we needed to keep ourselves in the win column, but I don't think our defense's morale could be any worse going into the SEC Championship Game. The one saving grace is we've generated enough turnovers to swing the tide.
Now, I'm going to get some popcorn and watch the Iron Bowl. We already spanked Auburn once this year. I'm rooting for the Crimson Tide so Leon gets a chance at revenge on the Florida Gators.
