‣ CFB 2030 Regular Season, Week 6 - Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, Florida
(5-0, 4-0 SEC) #3 Miami Hurricanes at Florida Gators (2-3, 1-2 SEC)
MIA | 7 | 14 | 7 | 7 | 35
UF | 0 | 17 | 3 | 7 | 27
Hurricanes escape Gainesville with 35-27 win over rival Gators
In a game that Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal described as 'sloppy, gritty and dirty', the undefeated Hurricanes managed to come out of The Swamp alive, beating Florida 35-27 on Saturday in the program's first ever interconference battle with their in-state rivals.
The Hurricanes jumped out to an early 14-0 lead before a freak play where a screen pass bounced off a Florida Gator's leg led to a pick-six that not only kept Florida in the game but re-energized the crowd as the Gators would briefly take the lead as they scored seventeen unanswered points in the second quarter.
Bernie Flowers and the Hurricanes would respond with a 52-yard touchdown pass to Max North on a busted coverage play and then on the other side of the half, Javier Torrez took a simple pass to the flats 36 yards for the touchdown to make it a two possession game.
The Gators would make the game interesting in the fourth quarter, scoring with four minutes left to make it an eight point game but Miami's rushing attack, only hampered by its own thirteen penalties on the day, had no problems running out the clock. The Hurricanes finished the game with 250 yards rushing, their third consecutive game over 200 rushing yards, all against SEC foes.

‣ CFB 2030 Regular Season, Week 7 - Bryant Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, Alabama
(6-0, 5-0 SEC) #2 Miami Hurricanes at #1 Alabama Crimson Tide (6-1, 4-1 SEC)
MIA | 7 | 14 | 7 | 0 | 28
BAMA | 0 | 7 | 7 | 7 | 21
Miami Hurricanes hold off No. 1 Alabama's comeback efforts in Game of the Century
Another big stage, another 'Game of the Century' and yet again, another coronation for the Miami Hurricanes as the back-to-back defending national champions went in Tuscaloosa and held off the Tide's best efforts in the closing stages to extend their winning streak to thirty-eight games with their 28-21 win on Saturday.
Trailing 28-7 early in the third quarter, the Tide refused to go down without a fight, having just leapfrogged rival Georgia in the latest AP Poll following the Bulldogs' loss to unranked Florida State last week while the Tide had just shutout No. 8 Ole Miss. Alabama quarterback Matthew Hurtado completed six straight passes to set up his two-yard scamper into the endzone to make it a two possession game before the end of the third quarter.
Miami's offense then went three-and-out, foiled by quarterback Bernie Flowers scrambling his way into a sack on third and eight. Alabama returned to the quick passing game with Hurtado completing seven straight passes this time and on his eight completion in a row, he threaded the needle and delivered a bullet in a tight window to DeMarco Cooks for the touchdown with 7:50 left in the game, now trailing seven.
The Hurricanes finally woke up, gaining 22 yards on the first two plays of the ensuing possession to quickly get into Alabama's territory while also chewing clock with five straight running plays. Flowers seemed to have clinched the game with a touchdown pass to Max North but it was negated by a holding penalty called on right tackle Tobias Salaam. Miami's offense, buoyed by Aidan Teague and the rushing offense, would work their way back from first and twenty from the Alabama 32-yard line to converting on third and eight with a nine yard rush by Teague.
The offense would eventually sputter and miss a 21-yard field goal due to the tight angle from the right hash mark. Bryant Denny was still coming down from its frenzy and signs of renewed hope when on the third play of the drive, right after a 23-yard completion had gotten Alabama to their own 42-yard line with a minute left, Hurtado fired a bullet across the field that was intercepted by Miami cornerback Jason Wall, clinching the Hurricanes' thirty-eight consecutive victory.

Miami's domination of the state of Florida continues with commitment from West Boca's Kevin Farmer
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider
Alabama finishes second to Miami on more than just the actual football field as the Hurricanes were able to hold off the Tide's advance for five-star defensive tackle Kevin Farmer out of West Boca to land the commitment from Farmer.
Farmer is the latest member of Miami's fifteen deep recruiting class and it's fourth five-star recruit, the only class in the country with more than one. The Hurricanes hold commitments from five of the state's top six recruits, with running back Trey Steed -- who they did not recruit -- being the only to sign elsewhere. Ironically, Steed is committed to Alabama.
A natural fit in Miami's 3-4 base, Farmer projects to play five-technique at the next level while his length and size at six-foot-five and 291 pounds would also allow him to play his current position of defensive tackle on obvious passing situations. A pocket disruptor with a relentless motor, Farmer is one of the better pass rushing defensive tackles to come out of South Florida in recent years with double-digit sack production in the past two seasons.
