BULLS RUN ALL OVER TULSA
Suggs and Hewlett lead USF to another big win

Saturday November 3, 2029 | 7:30 PM | Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium | Tulsa, Oklahoma
Tulsa, Oklahoma - No. 8 USF walked into Skelly Field on Saturday night and delivered another dominant performance, overwhelming Tulsa 49–13 behind a punishing rushing attack and another efficient outing from quarterback Locklan Hewlett.
The Bulls piled up 575 total yards, rushed for 284 yards and four touchdowns, and controlled the game from the opening drive as they improved to 9-1 overall and strengthened their grip atop the American Athletic Conference race.
USF wasted little time setting the tone. George Shembo capped the opening drive with a 3-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter, and while Tulsa answered with a 53-yard field goal from Victor Bitonio, it would be the closest the Golden Hurricane came all night.
The second quarter turned into a complete avalanche.
Hewlett found Lamar Sweet for a pair of touchdown strikes, first on a 2-yard connection and later on a 46-yarder that stretched the lead to 21-3. Connor Suggs then took over on the ground, bulldozing his way to touchdown runs of 16 and four yards in the final two minutes of the half to send USF into the locker room with a commanding 35-3 advantage.
Suggs was relentless throughout the night, finishing with 180 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. His mix of finesse and physical running style consistently punished Tulsa defenders and helped the Bulls dominate time of possession and field position.
The Bulls slowed things down but never let up after halftime.
Steven Snead added an 8-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, and Sweet completed his hat trick early in the fourth with a 5-yard touchdown reception from Hewlett. By then, USF had built a 49-6 lead and emptied much of the suspense from the final quarter.
Hewlett finished 18-of-26 passing for 216 yards and three touchdowns without committing a turnover. Hewlett now adds the school record for passing touchdowns in a season with 37. Sweet hauled in six catches for 77 yards and all three receiving touchdowns, while Lyle Dragos added 71 receiving yards on four receptions.
Defensively, the Bulls completely smothered Tulsa’s offense.
The Golden Hurricane managed only 150 total yards and just 11 rushing yards on 10 attempts. Tulsa quarterback Andrew Alford threw for 139 yards and a late touchdown to Paul LeBeau, but USF consistently pressured the pocket and forced Tulsa into difficult down-and-distance situations all night.
Jamerson Harris recorded a sack, while safety Sidney James came away with the game’s lone interception. Nick Jones led the team with five tackles as the Bulls held Tulsa to just eight first downs and 3-of-9 on third down conversions.
USF’s dominance showed across nearly every statistical category. The Bulls averaged 7.0 yards per play compared to Tulsa’s 3.9, converted all four fourth-down attempts, and scored touchdowns on all six red zone trips.
Tulsa’s brightest moments came from Bitonio, who connected on field goals from 53 and 43 yards, and safety Rafael Samuel, who recorded 13 tackles in a losing effort.
For Tulsa, the loss dropped the Golden Hurricane to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play despite entering the night second in the American standings. Head coach Dan Mullen’s team struggled to establish any rhythm offensively and was overwhelmed by USF’s speed and physicality from the outset.
Meanwhile, the Bulls continue to look every bit like a playoff contender.
With Hewlett operating efficiently, Suggs powering the ground game, and the defense playing at a championship level, USF appears to be peaking at exactly the right time heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

USF RECRUITING REPORT
BULLS ADD ANOTHER FOUR-STAR DEFENDER AS CLASS CONTINUES TO RISE

USF continued building momentum on the recruiting trail this week, adding another major defensive commitment with the pledge of four-star linebacker Charles Boudreaux out of Sharpsburg, Georgia.
The addition gives the Bulls yet another Top-200 national prospect and further strengthens what is quickly becoming one of the best recruiting classes in the American Conference.
Boudreaux, a 6’3”, 211-pound linebacker, committed to USF after emerging as one of the staff’s top defensive priorities during the middle portion of the season. The four-star defender is currently ranked as the No. 158 overall prospect nationally, the No. 10 player in Georgia, and the No. 11 linebacker in the country.
USF’s coaching staff was drawn immediately to Boudreaux’s athletic profile and versatility at the second level. The linebacker possesses excellent acceleration and closing speed for his size, highlighted by an impressive burst and solid speed that allow him to cover ground quickly sideline-to-sideline.
The Bulls also believe Boudreaux projects extremely well in space because of his combination of range, tackling ability, and pursuit instincts. He already shows strong physical traits as a run defender, including plus tackling, pursuit, and hit power, while still possessing enough movement ability to remain effective in coverage situations.
Internally, coaches view Boudreaux as a future signal-caller in the middle of the defense capable of eventually becoming the centerpiece of USF’s front seven. His combination of athleticism, intelligence, and physicality fits perfectly into the aggressive identity DJ Porter and Tony White continue building defensively.
Boudreaux’s commitment also represents another significant recruiting victory outside the state of Florida, continuing the Bulls’ expanding footprint throughout the Southeast.
The Bulls now possess multiple four-star defensive commitments in the 2030 class and continue trending upward nationally as momentum around the program grows following another strong season under Porter.
