idk about that, depends on the path to the final. if we play an elite team (90+ ovr) i think it'll be very tough since they can probably stop our running game

Miami Hurricanes ready to avenge last year's debacle against Georgia Tech
Manny Ledo -- The Miami Herald Sports Columnist

Miami head coach Mario Cristobal isn't running from it and neither are his players. There were no cliches or coach speak this week about Georgia Tech being just another game and that last year was last year. Instead, Cristobal, his staff and the players made available to the media all acknowledged that after last year's game against Georgia Tech were Miami snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with their game management is still fresh on their mind.

The Hurricanes had the game in the bag against the Yellow Jackets where they were up 20-17 where they did a good job of running the football to stall the opponents, but with just over 30 seconds left, Miami decided to keep running it. It would result in a fumble recovered by Georgia Tech leading to their game-winning touchdown in a moment where Cristobal said that they had “a process in place,” but “didn't follow it” according to Geo Milian.

"We have a twenty-four hour rule and we're well past that," Cristobal told Joe Rose on his weekly radio show earlier this week, "But the guys that were here, even some of the new guys, they see it, they hear about it, especially with social media. We know what happened, we know why it happened, I've owned that, we've all owned it and we're just looking to put it past us and to be honest, Saturday is another opportunity to do that."

Miami's standout right tackle Francis Mauigoa, who started in that Georgia Tech game as a true freshman, echoed similar sentiment.

"We have to keep our emotions in check and we approach every game with the same intensity," said Mauigoa, who has started every game since coming to Miami as a five-star recruit, "But at the same time, we understand what this game is about and everything that came with it. We saw the memes, the jokes, all that stuff on social media and if that doesn't give you just a little more edge, a little more fire, some more motivation, I don't know what will."

Georgia Tech will be looking to pull off another upset, this time at home as they are still in search for their first conference win.

Miami overcomes first half struggles to beat Georgia Tech in thrilling 34-22 victory
In a game that showcased resilience and determination, the Miami Hurricanes triumphed over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets with a final score of 34-22. This victory was particularly sweet for Miami, as it avenged their heartbreaking 23-20 loss to Georgia Tech last year.

The game started with a tense first half, where a late interception by Miami’s Cam Ward allowed Georgia Tech to take a 16-10 lead into halftime. The Hurricanes struggled to find their rhythm in the early stages of the third quarter, but everything changed when quarterback Ward connected with Sam Brown for a 26-yard touchdown, igniting the Miami offense.

It wasn't a standout game for Ward who threw an interception in his third straight game, completing just 61 percent of his passes for 174 yards. Miami instead leaned on its running game, led by Damien Martinez who rushed for 93 yards and Mark Fletcher, who added another 42 yards.

The momentum continued to shift in Miami’s favor when Ray Ray Joseph silenced the crowd with a 67-yard punt return, extending Miami's lead.

Georgia Tech fought back, making it a one-score game in the fourth quarter with a touchdown. However, their hopes were dashed when Damari Brown intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, sealing the victory for Miami.

In a twist of irony, Miami ended the game by taking a knee, a stark contrast to their decision last year that led to their defeat.
