Gig' Em Glory - Texas A&M Aggies

Indiana & Texas A&M Dominate the National Stage
The 2025 college football season belonged to two programs that rose above the rest when the national awards were handed out: Indiana and Texas A&M. From quarterback excellence in Bloomington to defensive dominance in College Station, both programs left an unmistakable mark on the sport.
Indiana: A Historic Season Led by Fernando Mendoza
Indiana’s breakthrough season was defined by the brilliance of quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who delivered one of the most decorated campaigns in recent memory. Mendoza swept the sport’s top individual honors, capturing the Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, and Davey O’Brien Award, firmly establishing himself as the nation’s premier quarterback.
The Hoosiers’ success extended beyond the quarterback position. Head coach Curt Cignetti was recognized with the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Award, a testament to Indiana’s transformation into a national contender. In the backfield, Roman Hemby earned the Doak Walker Award after anchoring a balanced and explosive offense that consistently overwhelmed opponents.
Together, Indiana’s award haul reflected a complete program — elite quarterback play, strong leadership, and a system built for sustained success.
Texas A&M: Defensive Powerhouse in College Station
While Indiana dominated the offensive headlines, Texas A&M owned the defensive spotlight. The Aggies’ season was headlined by Cashius Howell, whose relentless play earned him the Chuck Bednarik Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Lombardi Award, and Defensive End of the Year honors — a rare sweep that cemented his status as the most feared defender in college football.
Texas A&M’s defensive excellence didn’t stop there. Will Lee III was named the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award winner at cornerback, while Will Taurean York claimed the Dick Butkus Award, showcasing the Aggies’ dominance at every level of the defense. In the secondary and at linebacker, A&M consistently shut down opposing offenses and dictated the tempo of games.
The Aggies’ overwhelming presence on the defensive awards list underscored a unit built on physicality, discipline, and star power.
Two Programs, One Defining Awards Season
In a year filled with standout performances across the country, Indiana and Texas A&M separated themselves through excellence on opposite sides of the ball. Indiana’s historic offensive surge and Texas A&M’s defensive supremacy defined the 2025 awards season — and signaled that both programs are firmly positioned among college football’s elite moving forward.

That loss to Texas has gotta sting. Fortunately, you’re first out so some of those CCG results might help you.

Tough loss to Texas but that seems to be who the Aggies are. Still a really good season and a lot of awards at the end. Hopefully a good Big Ten or Big 12 team in the bowl now.
