really loved some of the offseason depth. Nienhuis has a ton of pressure on him after Rowe walked out the door, and for a team with playoff expectations, he'd better be good.
Definitely following to see how that unfolds.

definitely a lot of pressure on Nienhuis, especially if Rowe makes a run at Houston. I also hate having to type his name

Like Sox said, getting that QB would really help improve that national recruiting profile to keep things a bit more consistent going forward.
A solid season with a few ranked wins would go a long way to helping all that

Players to Watch
QB Kona Awesome (R-Sr) | 6′2″, 209LBS | 89 OVR, 85 SPD, 87 ACC, 88 COD, 83 THP, 93 SAC, 92 MAC, 80 DAC‣ The former Oklahoma State transfer has stuck around and finally gets his opportunity to start after being a backup last year. The physical tools are limited but he is a moxy quarterback with enough size and athleticism to keep defenses on their toes but ultimately lacks the arm talent to challenge defenses vertically. Stanford's strengths -- their pass rush and their secondary -- bodes well in this matchup.
HB Gordon Zunega (Jr) | 5′11″, 220LBS | 89 OVR, 91 SPD, 93 ACC, 82 COD, 90 CAR, 94 TRK, 86 SFA‣ Zunega feels like one of those guys that's going to be a 1,000-yard rusher this season and find himself back in the SEC after leaving Ole Miss and rushing for nine touchdowns last year for the Bears. Baylor was able to retain him this past offseason and this is an early season test for a Stanford linebacker unit that will feature two new starters and Zunega has big play ability, breaking 32 tackles last year.
CB Philip Battles (Jr) | 6′2″, 196LBS | 82 OVR, 91 SPD, 94 ACC, 90 COD, 80 MCV, 80 ZCV, 73 PRESS‣ Battles enters this season as a fringe NFL prospect after recording six interceptions in the last two seasons and is Baylor's best player. He's a well rounded player and will likely draw the matchup against Rodney Cookus in an early battle for both players that are trying to impress NFL scouts and rise up draft boards.
Hard Rock Bet™

this feels like such a pivotal season and yet with the schedule, could easily see a 8 win seasonCaptain Canada wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025, 16:27Like Sox said, getting that QB would really help improve that national recruiting profile to keep things a bit more consistent going forward.

Stanford and the under
I'll make picks each game, but my quick guess for the season is;
Weeks 1-3, two wins and an ass whooping. Mack is feeling pretty good.
4-6 LSU win, drama over the bye week, and Georgia embarrassing you
7-9 3-0 run, Mack back to feeling he's the top dog
10-12 TCU ends up being awful, Oregon runs all over you in a Pac throwback. Mack breaks a recruiting violation over the bye
13-14 Two wins over teams fighting for .500
