Stanford and the under
I'll make picks each game, but my quick guess for the season is;
Weeks 1-3, two wins and an ass whooping. Mack is feeling pretty good.
4-6 LSU win, drama over the bye week, and Georgia embarrassing you
7-9 3-0 run, Mack back to feeling he's the top dog
10-12 TCU ends up being awful, Oregon runs all over you in a Pac throwback. Mack breaks a recruiting violation over the bye
13-14 Two wins over teams fighting for .500
Mack is a God fearing family man that values faith, family and football. Get that smut off his name smh but yes, i can see it being an up and down year

Stanford releases first official depth chart ahead of Baylor opener
Chris Wallace -- 247Sports Stanford Football Insider
Earl Nienhuis, as expected, is your Stanford Cardinal starting quarterback, the announcement made official as the Cardinal released their first official depth chart of the season via social media.
Nienhuis, the transfer from Wake Forest, takes over for Alex Rowe in one of the most anticipated seasons in Stanford football history as they are coming off two consecutive playoff appearances, an ACC Championship and their first season as an Independent with a murderer's row of a schedule that features SEC, Big XII and Big Ten opponents.
The Cardinal feature two true freshmen starters in tight end Colt Mixon and right tackle Carl Shakir, who beat out veteran Jamal Harris and second-year highly touted prospect Joe Nunn for the starting job. Mixon battled with starter-in-waiting Dorian Droogsma in the spring, lead Droogsma to transfer to Georgia Tech with all signs pointing to Mixon, who wasn't highly ranked coming out of high school, as the future starter.
There's another first-time starter along the offensive line in Lawrence Hepburn who redshirted last season but now steps into that pivotal role at center with a first-time starter at the two more important positions on the offense.
The defense looks virtually the same as last year with a few changes, notably Athya Shade coming in via the portal by way of Kennesaw State and slides right in at nose tackle. He'll be a key piece to Stanford's rushing defense as they replace their linebacker room with four co-starters named in James Gattis, Desmond Spann, Eric LeVrone and Richard Caussin as they look to replace Isaiah Lanovoi and Manu Toomer.
Another position that promises to have a lot of rotation is running back where Rashawn Crouse and Anthony Masifilo are listed as co-starters while true freshmen Malik Marshall and Trevon Winbush are both listed as backups. All four should see plenty of burn, especially in the early portion of the season as they look to find that feature back.

It was a more up-and-down day for Nienhuis who certainly pushed the ball down the field more than Rowe, including a deep post to Brent Baker that was intercepted by senior safety Shaquille Duke, the Central Michigan transfer.
pushed the ball down the field more = good throw power
intercepted = low AWR
Soapy wrote: ↑27 Dec 2025, 08:59
Nienhuis is probably the most talented quarterback that Stanford has had since Tavien St. Clair as he's a better passer than both Zach Hoppes and Rowe and he's more athletic as well than Rowe. The lack of experience is a concern and while Rowe was a first-time starter as well last year, he at least had been in the offense for two seasons as a backup.
most talented = highest OVR
Soapy wrote: ↑28 Dec 2025, 08:56
Consistency will be key with Nienhuis, a first-time starter whose never taken a college snap, but there's just a lot more juice in his arm than Alex Rowe which is probably why Stanford decided to move forward with him.
again, consistency = lower AWR
more juice = better player

Stanford dominate Bears in Earl Nienhuis' Cardinal debut
Stanford quarterback Earl Nienhuis' first pass as a Stanford Cardinal went for forty yards. His next one was a touchdown.
Outside of a miscommunication in the redzone that resulted in an interception, Nienhuis' Stanford debut was nearly flawless, completing 26 of 35 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns in Stanford's 52-17 rout of the Baylor Bears.
It was a balanced attack for Stanford's offense who had three running backs score touchdowns, including true freshmen Trevon Winbush, who reached the endzone twice, and Malik Marshall. Eight different receivers caught a pass from Nienhuis but the top target was Richard Cookus, the leading receiver from last year's playoff team.
Cookus finished with five catches for 109 yards and a touchdown, including the first completion of the game for forty yards and later on in the game, a 25-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

super toolsy QB, lots of running backs to choose from, but that offensive line. Makes me jealous tbh.

Yeah, Wake had a sneaky highly rated QB when we played them last year and Nienhuis got like a 8 OVR boost over the offseason.
