Can Stanford beat out LSU for Colorado's Thomas Gann in the transfer portal?
Chris Wallace -- 247Sports Stanford Football Insider

The top transfer portal cornerback Thomas Gann will be in Palo Alto on Tuesday as he takes his first official visit since leaving Colorado, establishing Stanford as one of the top teams to watch in his recruitment which is expected to feature some heavy hitters.

Gann, who is from Westlake Village near Los Angeles, is expected to take visits to LSU, Alabama, Notre Dame and USC with USC and LSU being viewed as the top contenders. The Tigers will be especially tough to beat with their reputation as DBU while USC has the hometown factor.

This is a major position of needed as Stanford returns nickel Kentrell Marvin but loses its top two outside corners to graduation. Juan Becht, a rising junior, started six games last season as Chauncey Ankrah was sidelined with an injury. It was touch and go with Becht who gave up a few big plays and finished the year with 38 tackles and four pass breakups. Benjamin Streeter also saw some action as a reserve with sixteen tackles and three pass breakups and saw extended action in the game against Georgia.

Beyond them, the depth at corner isn't proven with third-year junior Antwan Weeks who played in three games last year and Trevante Punga, a redshirt freshman, who played a single snap last year which came in the Florida game.

They're also targeting Kent State's Paul Garrison as he looks to make the jump to the P4 level with Notre Dame and Penn State heavily involved in that recruitment. Atlanta's Emmanuel Ogbogu is another option for the Cardinal with Notre Dame and Clemson being schools that he's been linked to.

Trying to get some CA QBs?

I feel your pain though. In my two seasons my RB room bolted in the portal. Thankfully I got Peterson back in the portal.

Why didnt you try to get any of your guys back in the portal?

I figure with the pipeline bump would be more successful

Once you leave The Farm, fuck you, no coming back (unless you are good and we need you)
