Alabama suffer first loss of the season in blowout defeat to Stanford
Stanford finished its first drive of the game with running back Rashawn Crouse running over an Alabama defender and running through another to reach the endzone. It would perfectly incapsulate what would be a dominant effort from the Cardinal, rushing for 325 yards and forcing four turnovers in their 45-20 win over Alabama on Saturday night.

There were no remnants of last week's defeat to Notre Dame for Stanford who jumped out to an early 14-0 lead thanks to a red-zone fumble by Alabama.

Even when things went wrong for Stanford with Earl Nienhuis being intercepted on fourth down and it was returned within Stanford's twenty yard line, the Cardinal responded. First with Stanford's defense limiting Alabama to just a field goal and then on the ensuing drive, Nienhuis led an eleven play drive that culminated with a Trevon Winbush touchdown to extend their lead. Winbush led the way for Stanford's offense with 101 yards on the ground while Crouse added 86.

It was a tough day for Daryl Bender who was intercepted three times after having just one on the season.

The Victory Lap: Stanford gets back to the basics, Damien Yeboah gets his first touchdown and some recruiting news

Run the damn football.

That's what Stanford did when their backs were against the proverbial wall after their loss to Notre Dame, letting Rashawn Crouse set the tone with an early touchdown where he ran over an Alabama defender. The Cardinal had three players have over ten carries against Alabama in their 45-20 win and that's not including quarterback Earl Nienhuis who was a more willing runner with 44 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

The scary part about Stanford's dominance on the ground is that it came against one of the better rushing defenses in the country and they ran for 325 yards on the ground without a long touchdown. Trevon Winbush had the longest run of the day and it was for 31 yards and outside of Anthony Masifilo's 20-yard run, no other player had a rush for over twenty yards so this was a just consistent running game that was bolstered by having a healthy offensive line with Joe Nunn back into the lineup.

Damien Yeboah should get some offensive snaps
The true freshman really broke the game open with his 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown which completely took the air out of the Alabama crowd that was already reeling.

He's been a promising returner, averaging 25.9 yards per return on kicks and 9.5 yards per return on punts.

He hasn't played much on offense outside of the Fresno State game where he had a catch on forty four snaps, his only of the season but with the lack of production at receiver outside of Rodney Cookus, I wouldn't mind seeing Yeboah get some burn at receiver, whether opposite of Cookus or even in the slot where Alfonso Bramble gets the bulk of the snaps.

Oregon picking up Crystal Balls for five-star running back Shon Eze
The Nevada star has been a top target for the Cardinal this season but it looks like things are trending towards Oregon's direction in his recruitment.

Eze will be on campus next weekend for his official visit which makes the timing of these Crystal Balls interesting. Does that mean that Eze could potentially scrap the visit and commit to Oregon? He does have visits announced to BYU and UCLA with his final visit set for Oregon in late November.

Next weekend is a big week for Stanford as they are hosting two other five-stars in Cooper Matakevich, the five-star tackle out of Virginia, and five-star IMG receiver Rafael Kalil. It's my understanding that Stanford is in a really good place with both players, especially Kalil, and they are looking to make a move on getting both of them in the class by the end of the week.
