IT'S ALL ORANGES FOR THE BRONCOS!!!

GAME RECAP

Fresh off their snow blizzard game in their Round 1 win over Auburn, Boise State traveled to sunny Miami and the home of the Orange Bowl taking on #3 LSU.. The Tigers entered the game a perfect 13-0 but quickly realized they had a test on their hands as Boise State jumps out to a early (14-7) lead behind a pair of touchdown pass's from Tua Draft to Conner Friesz.. For Friesz it was his 17th and 18th of the season as the 6'4 Junior has solidified his role as a nice 6'4 redzone threat.

LSU would tie the game early in the 2nd Quarter (14-14) as Tiger QB Alanai Hankerson (Jr/88 Ovr) hits JR WR Troy Way (87 Ovr) on a 69 yd bomb but Boise State answers back with a late score as Brian Crum runs in the first of what would be 2 touchdowns on the day to give Boise State the (21-14) lead at the half.

BSU opened up up the 2nd half with the ball and added to their lead quickly as Draft finds Marquez Stockton on a 63 yd bomb to make it (28-14) just 49 seconds into the 2nd half. For Stockton the catch put him over 1000 receiving yards on the season as he joins both Conner Friesz and Eric Zentner in the 1000 yd club giving BSU 3-1000 yard receivers on the season.

Hankerson would respond with the big play with a couple big plays of his own as he throws his 3rd touchdown of the game finding Way for TD #2 as the tigers cut the lead to (28-21) but Draft and Stockton were not done as the duo hooks up for another score late in the 3rd.. For Draft it was his 4th TD of the day as the Senior QB adds to his already career record #'s.

Trailing (35-21) going into the 4th LSU would make a game of it though as Hankerson throws a 28 yd strike to SR WR Darren Yancey (88 Ovr) to cut the lead to (35-28) and then after a Draft INT, Hankerson went back to work as he ties the game (35-35) finding SR TE Quincy Tigner (89 Ovr) on a 26 yd score with 5:26 to play.

Boise State would slow things down though as SO RB Brian Crum scores his 2nd TD of the game with a 22 yd run to pushes him over 100 yds on the day to make it (42-35) with 3:33 to play

Then it was the Broncos turn for a big play on Defense as SR CB Kyrie Darnold picks off Hankerson in the redzone with 2:49 to play in the game. After forcing LSU to burn all 3 of their timeouts, it was the Bronco Offense that then comes up with a huge play as JR RB Jermarcus Boykins breaks free for a 55 yd run that would setup the final score of the game. LSU out of timeouts would come up with a big stop on 3rd and and 5 but a Cedric Eagles 25 yd FG put the final nail in the coffin as the Broncos move on to the Semi-Finals with the hopes of a 3rd title in 4 seasons.

CAN BOISE STATE UPSET TEXAS??

Boise State faces it's biggest challenge of the season as they take on #2 (14-0) Texas in the the Fiesta Bowl for a chance at playing for their 3rd National Title in 4 years.

The Longhorns are led by Heisman/Maxwell/Davey O'Brien/Johnny U Golden Arm and Walker Camp winner SR QB Raphael Punga (84 ovr) Punga in his only year as the Longhorn starter has put up a historic season passing for 5329 yds with 53 TD and just 5 INT well also rushing for 367 yds and 6 TD's.

Well Punga is the star of the team, he didn't do it alone.. He has (3) 1000 yd receivers plus the 2031 John Mackey Award winner in TE Joey Love. (60 rec 712 yds 9 TD).

SR Akeem Orlando (91 Ovr) started his career at Stanford posting 61 rec for 836 yds and 5 TD for the Cardinals before posting 86 rec for 996 yds and 8 TD last season in Austin. This year Orlando has improved all those #'s leading the team with 132 rec for 1571 yds and 11 TD..

Orlando is joined by another transfer WR. Jaden Ford (90 Ovr) started his career at Nebraska posting 14 rec for 173 yds before transfering to San Diego State for 2 seasons post back to back 1000 yd season with 60+ rec and scored 28 TD including 17 in 2030. But despite the presence of Orlando, Ford still has 97 rec for 1304 yds and 15 TD.

If (2) 1000 yd receivers wasn't enough add in JR Kurtis Blacknall (86 Ovr).. Blacknall posted 66 rec for 1043 yds with 7 TD last season and despite Orlando and Ford still has managed to better those #'s with 76 rec 1067 yds and 14 TD.

Texas doesn't just pass the ball though. The Longhorns also have a solid run game with JR RB Trey Malik (91 Ovr)-156 carries 844 yds 18 TD and SR George Laporta (86 Ovr)-112 carries 539 yds and 4 TD.

On Defense Texas has 2 of the Best pass rushers in the nation in SO LB Diego Augusitine (88 Ovr) 27 TFL 19 sacks, and JR DE Diego Ordonez (87 Ovr) 25 TFL 17..5 sacks

LSU pushed you to the brink, nice job pulling it out in the end.

Kind of glad the Huskies cinderella run ended before you guys, that way you've got a proper matchup with the Natty on the line.

Texas vs BSU should be a classic

Punga seems like the real deal, 53-5 TD-INT is crazy. Shut him down!

Appreciate all the comments and follows.. Texas is the real deal and Punga and his receiving core looks legit.. There is a reason why they are undefeated.. I have been playing some Battlefield Redsec with friends but don't have any weekend plans so I am sure I will finish the season at some point over the weekend.
