Season 5, Episode 3
Kam would occasionally glance at the propped-up phone in front of him before returning his attention to his TV screen, flickering away at the controller in his hands.

“Yo!”

He initially ignored the knock at the door, focusing on the crucial third and six that was in front of him. The knocks continued, eventually getting the attention of Yassy.

“Are you going to get that?” she looked up from her studies and into the phone.

Kam paused the game, tossing his controller onto his bed as he gingerly walked over the door, swinging the door open to reveal his roommate.

“What?”

“We’re about to slide,” Kyrie informed him, “You sure you don’t want to come?”

The Scarlet Knights weren’t going to rebuild themselves, “Nah, I’m good, y’all boys have fun.”

“You sure?”

Kam nodded before dapping him up, closing the door behind him as he resettled into his office chair, leaning back against it until it was being held up by the frame of the bed behind it.

“Where are they going?” Yassy asked, bringing the phone closer to her face.

“I don’t know,” Kam shook his head, “Some golf shit.”

“They play golf?” Yassy inquired, judging the books by their covers.

“I don’t think so,” Kam shrugged, “Kyrie’s brother got a timeshare or something out there on one of these golf courses, so I think they just hang out there all day, get drunk and shit.”

“You should go,” she suggested.

“Their ass don’t got to play for real,” Kam scoffed, “We still got practice tomorrow.”

“Your one day off is today,” she reiterated, “As much as I’d love to just spend it with you on FaceTime just watching you play video games, you should get out, do something, talk to some people besides just me and a few mumbled words to your roommate.”

Kam didn’t respond as his defense was able to get off the field, drawing a slight head nod from their fearless leader.

“I’m serious, I know you’re in your head and shit about yesterday.”

All of Kam’s worst fears and nightmares had turned into reality with Tennessee’s defense completely shutting down the Wildcats running game. It didn’t help matters that he’d have to wait nearly a month for another crack at a Power 4 defense.

“I’m just chilling right now,” was the best retort that Kam had, aimlessly scrolling through his depth chart as he had paused the game.

“Stewing in here is just going to make you even more mad tomorrow that you wasted your day off,” Yassy was unrelenting, “Just have fun for a couple of hours.”

“The only thing they ain’t gonna make more of is this right here land! They are gonna print more money, even make more niggas just like you, even bigger and faster. But they can’t make more land! They would if they could, but they can’t!”

His words had become droning to Kam, each soliloquy more strident than the previous one. Kam had already reached the two-drink limit that he had placed on himself while the day was still young and Kyrie’s brother wasn’t making things any easier.

“I’d pump all of your money into like this big pool,” he continued to hold court, “Man, get some investment opportunities going, you feel me? That’s what them white boys be doing out here when they golfing and shit, we just flexing on each other while they are stacking.”

Kam broke his own rule, getting up from the couch and walking over to the refrigerator, perusing through his options. He leaned over and grabbed a hard seltzer, cracking it open as he walked to the patio.

“Oh,” he was surprised to learn that he wasn’t the only one escaping the hour-long seminar that had broken out inside.

“He’s still going?” Ashley asked, drawing laughter from the two others that were there, a couple that Kam had met earlier in the evening but whose names were escaping him.

“That’s like a thing?” Kam took a seat across from them, acknowledging the couple with a nod.

“If Caleb ain’t trying to sell you something, check his pulse,” commented the guy as Kam desperately tried to place his name.

“Y’all went to high school together?” Kam asked, hoping to discover their names at some point.

“We all went to the same high school, just different years,” Ashley looked towards them, “Mia graduated the year before me and Reggie, you were like what, a year after Caleb?”

Kam was relieved as he repeated their names in his head.

“Pretty much down the line,” Reggie nodded, “I went to school with Caleb, we played basketball together which is how I met this wonderful girl over here.”

“I did basketball and track which led me to Ash,” she tilted her head towards Ashley which the sunset’s beam was doing wonders on, “Future gold medalist that one.”

“I don’t know about that,” she crossed her legs, “Let’s see how indoor goes before we get too excited.”

“You’re going to crush it,” Reggie assured her, “Texas was just too big and too far. I didn’t want to say anything and get in your head at the time but I’m glad you’re back, we all are.”

“I mean, look at those legs!” Mia dramatically gasped, “That body is tea, honey! That’s what an Olympian looks like, y’all.”

“They’re definitely my hype squad,” Ashley laughed, “I needed you guys in Austin, that’s for sure.”

“We’ll be at every meet,” Reggie promised, “They’re going to have to kick us out for yelling too loud.”

“I bet,” Ashley adjusted her top before standing up, “You guys need anything from inside?”

They all shook their heads and while Kam’s can was still full, he made eye contact with Ashley to get the cue, “I’ll probably get something."

They walked back into the kitchen, the sound of Reggie’s voice still prevalent as they closed the sliding door behind them.

“I wasn’t going to leave you out there by yourself,” she teased as she opened the fridge, the options dwindling down.

She grabbed the sour mix, pouring just a dash in her cup before filling the rest with tequila.

“They seem fine,” Kam shrugged, keeping his voice low enough as only a glass door and a few steps separated them.

“That’s the problem,” she laughed, taking a sip of her drink before leaning in, “I’m like pretty sure she took Kyrie’s virginity, and his brother’s.”

“What? Isn't her man friends with them?”

“Exactly!” she quickly caught herself, holding her hand over her mouth as she lowered her voice once more, “Kyrie might have just been talking shit but before she got with Reggie, she used to just mess around with his brother at the house and one time, they were playing around and stuff about Kyrie being a virgin and next thing you know, she takes him to his room, he comes out a man.”

“Bullshit,” Kam scoffed, a bit amused by it all.

“I don’t know,” Ashley shook her head, “There were all these crazy stories about them when we were in high school about her fucking Reggie and Caleb, together, like at the same time. I didn’t believe them until they tried to rope me in on some crazy shit.”

“You’re lying,” Kam nearly spat out his drink, getting the attention of Kyrie who turned his head around towards them before returning to the conversation he was having with Caleb and the rest.

“Every time we get drunk, that girl tries to kiss me or feel me up and shit,” she rolled her eyes, “I don’t be playing that shit so last time, I saw her get super flirty with Kyrie, that’s why his ass staying away right now.”

“Smart man,” Kam nodded, taking a sip of his drink.

“He knows I ain’t with that dumb shit anymore,” she scoffed, “He swears like I don’t know that he was fucking everything moving last year while I was away.”

“Black men don’t cheat,” Kam tried to lighten the mood and take the heat off his mentee.

“I don’t mind,” she chugged the rest of her drink, “I was doing me, too. A year is a long fucking time without some fucking.”

If Kam had any kind of game to close the deal with Yassy, he wouldn’t be horny looking to cheat.

Season 5, Episode 4
“Yes!”

“Immediately no,” Yassy rolled her eyes, snatching the hanger from Tess before racking it back up, “I don’t know who you think I am.”

“That bitch,” Tess tilted her head, “Come on, now, you don’t always have to dress like this.”

“It’s going to be cold,” she reasoned, “And what’s wrong with how I dress?”

“I’m sure you’re going to be inside and shit,” Tess pulled the low-cut dress back out, placing it over Yassy’s body, “Imagine he’s seeing you all covered and shit throughout the day and you finally take your coat off and boom, body is fucking bodying, looking all good and shit.”

“My body isn’t what’s keeping him, trust me,” she placed it back, “You should have seen some of those girls, I mean, I knew they’d have some white girls and shit but so many fine ass black girls, too. Like his roommate’s girlfriend is drop dead gorgeous, I hope it ain’t too many more like her.”

“That’s what I’m telling you,” Tess said in frustration, harkening back to their hour-long debate on the way to the mall.

“You don’t think I want to,” she lowered her voice as she leaned in, “That man is fine as hell, Savanah. I mean, I don't know what kind of weights or running they got him doing down there but his body is even more..."

“Calm down, girl,” Tess teased, “I know that kitty needs to be fed.”

“If I’m ever going to go there with a guy, it’s probably him,” she sighed, “It’s just…I don’t know, I don’t want to have another panic attack and scare him off.”

“That nigga was a fuck boy that you never should have been with in the first place,” Tess explained, “It was also like your first time since...what happened. And besides, you actually like Kam, damn near love that nigga.”

“You’re telling me?”

“Maybe some liquid courage?”

“My therapist said that’s about the worst thing I can do,” she scoffed, “I was drinking the night it happened.”

“So, if you feel safe, go ahead, girl. I don’t want to like pressure you or anything but come on, girl. Your man is a football player at a fucking football school, probably got his face all over campus and he's on TV and if they haven’t already, the vultures are fucking circling.”

“Trust me, I probably want to do it more than him at this point,” she stammered, “I just…I don’t know if I can ever bring myself to be with another person like that after what happened.”

Kam’s eyes followed the linebacking duo as they moved in unison, hawking their prey down before attacking as a pride.

They didn’t have the size or speed of Tennessee but both players, senior Bryan Thomas Jr. and redshirt freshman Bryce Reeves would be a huge step up in competition from what Kam had faced in the past two weeks.

The week had flown by, especially with Kam being a limited participant in practices after carrying the ball nearly a hundred times through the first four games of the season. No other running back in the SEC had more than seventy, Kam’s body serving as a constant reminder. The light week, however, had him feeling refreshed, a feeling he knew would not last very long after their trip to Columbia.

He grabbed the remote, replaying the stretch run a few times as he tried to pick up any pointers.

“You got about thirty pounds on that running back,” coach Boulware came into the room after noticing that Kam was still in there, “And he’s way faster than you.”

“I don’t know about way faster,” Kam flipped to the next section, primarily inside zone runs.

“Watching hours and hours of film ain’t going to help you out of this one,” coach Boulware grabbed his thermos and other belongings from his desk, “They run simple shit. The boys up front going to need to do their job, I know you’ll do yours, 3.”

She might got some demons, but Kam still ain't got no game. We not forgetting he ran behind Lana with no pussy on deck for two years (plus).

Also, Oak Tree Watch (tm) is down to a 45% after those last two games.
