BRONCOS GET THEIR REVENGE!!

GAME RECAP

The Selection Committee loves to create high profile matchups and a rematch of Texas and Boise State doesn't get any bigger. The Longhorns started the year a favorite to repeat as National Champs and after upsetting Nebraska to win the Big 12 Championship and then securing a 1st Round win over Georgia,, it looked like Texas was well on their way to making that dream a possiblity.

However Boise State had other plans. The Broncos dominated the game for 3 Quarters on both sides of the ball First jumping out to a (14-0) lead and then holding Texas to just a trio of Field Goals as they expanded their lead to (35-9) going into the locker room.

After opening up the game with 2 big receptions, Star WR Kyle Harmon was a early exit dealing with a rib injury that kept him from returning, but Boise State got turned to Taj Carr who would haul in a 53 yd touchdown to close out the half well Max Kramer filled in playing in the slot catching 6 passes for 1st downs including helping BSU go a perfect 3/3 on 4th downs. Boise State also go some help on from the Defense as both CB Quincy Forrest and OLB Akeem Nailor picked off Alufohai in the 1st half.

Texas would open up the 2nd half pretty much the same way they played the 1st half setting for another pair of Field Goals well Boise State turned to the ground game looking to slow things down and take valuable minutes off the clock., as they take a (35-15) lead into the 4th.

Texas would open up the 4th Quarter scoring as Heisman winner Alani Alufohai finds his TE Sam Little for a 13 yd score to make it (35-22) but Boise State responds again with the ground attack as Crum leads a 12 play drive ending with a 17 yd touchdown. Coach Miller would leave the Offense on the field as BSU converts the 2pt play to make it (43-22) with 6:21 to play in the game.

Down by 3 scores, Texas didn't just give up on the run and it turned out to be a good thing as JR RB Tyler Neal (85 Ovr) breaks free for a 32 yd score to make it (43-29) with still over 5 minutes to play in the game, After throwing for 4 touchdowns on 27/29 in the 1st half, Cam Hooks continued to take most of the 2nd half off as he completes just 10 pass's as BSU grinds away the clock with more running plays this time turning to SR RB JerMarcus Boykins who completes a 13 play drive with a 12 yd score leaving just 2:10 to play in the game.

Texas would turn the ball over on downs as BSU settles for a pair of kneel downs to run off the remainder of the clock.

QUARTER FINAL RESULTS
Well #3 Boise State dominated #6 Texas in the Fiesta Bowl, the rest of the country watched some exciting football that wasn't decided until the 4th Quarter.

#5 Nebraska is the only higher seed to advance to the Semi's as they defeat #4 Miami (35-34). The Cornhuskers rushed for 281 yds on 33 carries and overcame 2 INT's to pull it off.

#1 Ohio State is moving on. ending #8 Alabama's season with a (45-41) victory after scoring 21 points in the 4th Quarter... Despite trailing,, Ohio State never game up on the run game and it worked as they produced 126 yds and 4 scores.

#2 Clemson led (24-14) at the half and (34-14) entering the 4th but Oregon made a run scoring twice in the final quarter as the Tigers hold on to the (37-27) victory.. Oregon QB Ty Gollaaday threw 3 INT in the loss. Clemon like Nebraska and Ohio State won it with their ground game as QB Trae Brake rushed for 108 yds and 2 scores and JR RB Don Trapp added 80 yds and 2 more scores on 25 carries.

Hooks was on fire in the first half but I knew I need to slow things down and keep the ball out of the hand of the Texas QB. The gameplan worked..

BRONCOS ARE HEADED BACK TO THE NATTY!!!

GAME RECAP

Still with thoughts and memories of their disappointing loss to Texas in last year's Semi-Finals, Coach Miller knew he couldn't let this opportunity slip away.. Already with 2 National Titles to his resume, Miller was looking to join a elite group of coaches with 3 or more.

A early INT by Cam Hooks would lead to a Donald Trapp 13 yd touchdown run to give Clemson the (7-0) lead but Hooks would bounce back leading the Broncos on a 13 play drive ending with a 1 yd QB keeper on 4th and Goal as Boise State ties the game (7-7).

Clemson would retake the lead with 5 minutes to play in the 1st Quarter Brian Dalton connects on a 40 yd FG to make it (10-7) and then after yet another Cam Hooks INT it was Clemson QB Trae Brake (91 ovr) showing off his running skills as he goes 20 yds to the house to give the Tigers the (17-7) lead as the 1st Quarter action comes to a close.

Boise State would rally in the 2nd quarter despite Cam Hooks 3rd INT, the Broncos would manage to retake the lead behind the running game of JR Brian Crum. Crum would cut the lead to (17-14) early in the 2nd Quarter but it was his 1 yd run with 44 seconds in the half that would ignite the Broncos faithful who make the trip to New Orleans as Boise State goes up (21-17) to end the 1st half.

Clemson opened up the 2nd half with the ball but were forced to settle for a 28 yd FG to make it a 1 point game (21-20) but it didn't stay there very long as Crum leads the charge yet again with his 3rd rushing touchdown to make it (28-20) midway through the 3rd Quarter.

Both teams would trade a couple 3 and outs but with the 3rd Quarter coming to a close it was Boise State and Cam Hooks coming up with a huge play yet again facing a 3rd and 1 , Hooks audibled out of the run play to Crum and found Max Kramer 1 on 1 on a slant route.. Kramer took the pass 68 yds to the house as BSU adds to their lead making it (35-20) as we head to the 4th.

Clemson showed why they are #2 in the country in scoring as Trae Brake shows off his big arm finding Tre Brown on a 63 yd strike to make it (35-27) with 7:55 play in the game. Miller sticking to the same game plan as he did against Texas would stick with the ground game to take away valuable minutes off the clock and it worked like perfection yet again as SR RB Tyler Fry delivers a pair of 1st down runs including a 14 yd score with 6:23 to play as BSU extends the lead back to 2 scores (42-27)..

Clemson however would struggle in the final 5 minutes of the game turning the ball over 3 times on downs but a missed 42 yd FG by Cedric Eagles on the first one gave the Tigers a glimmer of hope but Brian Crum would crush it as he scores his 4th touchdown of the game with a 2 yd run extending the lead to (49-27) .

The 3rd turnover on downs actually would lead to points for the Tigers though as Eagles comes in to attempt his 2nd FG of the day, The Tigers Special Teams comes up with a huge block as Amir Augustine takes it 66 yds to the house but out of timeouts, all the Tigers could do is watch as Hooks kneels out the final minute as Boise State moves on..

you hardly ever see the CPU run the ball 37 times in game, nice job getting back to the Natty even with the rough game from Hooks

hopefully he can avoid the INTs to win the Natty

BUCKEYES 1 STEP CLOSER TO HISTORIC SEASON ENDING

After watching Boise State defeat Clemson by 2 touchdowns in the Sugar Bowl, Ohio State and Nebraska battled it out in the Rose Bowl for a chance to play the Broncos in the National Championship game.

Nebraska took the early (7-0) lead in the 1st Quarter and scored again in the 2nd Quarter taking a (14-10) lead into the locker room, but Ohio State battled back in the 3rd Quarter scoring 3 times to take a (31-21) lead into the 4th.. Nebraska cut the lead to (31-28) with under 3 minutes to play and then got a huge stop on 4th down as the Buckeyes looked to run out the clock but with 20 seconds to play the Cornhuskers would tie the game a 42 yd FG by FR Spencer Henricks to send the game into Overtime.

Nebraska won the toss and elected to start on Defense but the Buckeyes scored, leaving Nebraska to do the same as they tie it up (38-38). Nebraska however fails to find the endzone on their 2nd series leaving the Buckeyes a chance to win and it took just 2 plays as SR Emmett Sloman takes it in for the game winning touchdown. FINAL SCORE OHIO STATE-44 NEBRASKA-38

it was a weird game.. Clemon's is ran by former Southern Miss HC Charles Huff.. I am not sure if his playbook is run dominant or what but Clemson likes to run.. Trapp (91 ovr) is the starter and had 260 carries for 1501 yds and 20 TD on the season.. Shead is actually the backup but still had 201 carries for 821 yds and 16 TD and Brake is a dual threat QB who added 661 yds on 203 carries and scored 12 TD to go with his almost 4400 yds and 34 TD/7 INT season.

I honestly thought I was doomed when I threw that 3rd INT but they struggled to make me pay for all my mistakes so I just adjusted and went to the run and it worked. My Defense came up big in the 4th even though I didn't get a INT I managed a couple key sacks that set up 3rd and long and them going 1/5 on 4th down really helped..

Thanks for always checking in and commenting. Well I am excited to finish this season I am a little scared for the off-season.. Despite the fact that Hooks leaves for the Draft and Waddle appears to be a lock for the Portal, Barksdale also has a Playing time Deal Breaker even though he will be the starter next year and so does Waller my RS FR RB as well as Chance my 5* WR who would also be a starter, so I could be losing 3 huge building blocks for my repeat run.

Tough win over Clemson despite the turnovers.
Please beat Ohio State.
Sounds like you could be facing some pretty serious roster turnover this offseason, that’s half the fun though!
