Patriots cornerback Marcus Jones signs four year, $28.8 million extension
The New England Patriots and cornerback Marcus Jones have agreed to a four-year, $28.8 million contract extension, NFL Network Insiders reported Tuesday. The deal solidifies Jones' place in New England's secondary, ensuring the 26-year-old will remain a key piece of the defense through the 2029 season.

The extension includes $15.8 million guaranteed, giving Jones both long-term stability and a considerable raise as his cap hit will jump from $1.65 million this year to $6.6 million and escalate to $7.86 million in the final year of his deal.

A third round pick from the 2022 NFL Draft, Jones has emerged as a versatile and reliable player in the Patriots' secondary. His performance in the 2025 season has been especially noteworthy, as he posted a career-high Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade of 79.4, a mark that placed him among the top nickel corners in the league.

Jones’ standout ability to cover opposing receivers, combined with his prowess as a return specialist, has made him a dual-threat asset. In addition to his three interceptions on defense, Jones leads the NFL since his entrance to the league in kick return yardage.

Patriots keep it rolling with dominant win over struggling Saints
Heading into halftime, New England Patriots duo Drake Maye and Cooper Kupp had already linked up for three touchdowns and would be on their way to a masterful performance in the Patriots 35-20 win over the Saints on Sunday.

Maye finished the game with four passing touchdowns and threw for 288 yards with Cooper Kupp leading the way with eleven receptions for 124 yards and those three touchdowns. It was Kupp's fourth consecutive game with a touchdown and he has scored in all but two games this season with nine receiving touchdowns on the year.

The Saints would cut into the lead in the second half thanks to a Maye interception that allowed them to score ten points in three minutes but was never able to cut the lead down to less than possessions as they had no answers for New England's running game. Even with a limited Rhamondre Stevenson who was hobbled with an injury and only had one carry, the Patriots still rushed for 186 yards on the ground.
