I don't understand why they played so badly.. They are a 83 Overall/86 Offense/79 Defense. They started 4-0 and it wasn't like they played cupcakes they beat Memphis, Boston College, Houston and Arizona. But they do have a new QB, new starting RB and lost their Top-4 WR's from last year.

WEEK 9/10 RECAP

COUGARS WIN BIG ON TH FIELD

Following their 72-14 win over Boise State, Washington State kept things rolling picking up a pair of Top-25 wins over UCLA in Week 9 at home and then over BYU on the road in Week 10. With 3 straight wins WSU is now (7-1) Overall and (4-1) in Pac-12 play and has officially debuted at #8 in the new CFP Rankings.

Washington State still now play their next 4 games at home to close out the season and is a favorite to win 3 of them but it's the 1 they are not that has Coach Moore concerned.. #2 (8-0) Oregon will come to Pullman in Week 11. The Ducks are what stands between WSU and their hunt for a return to the Pac-12 Championship and a return to the Playoffs and a shot at a Natty. Can they be the hunters? or will the Ducks fly high and keep their undefeated season alive.

Here is a brief recap of the past 2 games.

vs UCLA (Final Score WSU 55 UCLA-34)

UCLA actually led at half time 20-17, but the Cougars owned the 2nd half scoring 38 unanswered before the Bruins closed out the game with a pair of touchdowns to make it look closer then it was.

C. Loyd trying to earn his way back in the Heisman discussion threw for 371 yds with 5 TD's.

The Cougar RB room combined for 206 yds (C. Powell 15 carries 83 yds 1 TD, M. Owens-13 carries 80 yds M. Boulware-14 carries 43 yds)

One week after C. Wayne exploded with a career night setting new WSU/Pac 12 records, Wayne (7 rec 78 yds 1 TD) took a back seat to Johnny Ivory who had 8 rec for 61 yds and caught 3 TD's. Fellow WR Oscar Paul added 82 yds and a touchdown on 3 catches.

SR DE Stephen Harris after posting 2 sacks last week against BSU after not having a single sack all season added 3 more to his total against the Bruins.

@ BYU (Final Score WSU-67 BYU-21

The Cougars came into the game (6-1) and ranked #16 but sure didn't play like it after the 1st Quarter.. BYU led (7-3) early but WSU scored 26 points including a safety and pair of FG's in the 2nd Quarter to take a (29-14) lead at the half WSU then score 38 unanswered points until BYU closed out the game with a touchdown.

Lloyd played the first 3 Quarter throwing for 281 yds and 3 TD's well adding 32 yds rushing.

Antwan Beaver played in the 4th Quarter and was 13/16 (81%) throwing for 93 yds and 2 TD's.

RB Clint Powell had a season high 22 carries for 212 yds and 2 TD including a 77 yd touchdown run in the 2nd Quarter.

FB Nyles Kugbila scored the Cougars final touchdown in the 4th Quarter with a 51 yd run straight up the middle on a 3rd and 2 FB Dive play.

TE Fetu Ursua led the Cougars with 9 rec for 173 yds and 3 TD including a 54 yd catch and a 47 yd catch.

WR's J. Ivory 6 rec 66 yds 1 TD and C. Wayne 7 rec 53 yds 1 TD caught the other 2 scores.

SO LB Serge Udeze recorded 2 sacks and now has 4 sacks over the past 3 games.

COUGARS SUCCES ON THE FIELD DOESN'T EQUAL OFF

With just weeks left in the regular season, WSU has yet to sign a player to the 2030 class, but they have officially lost 5 players off their Top-25 board including 4 of their Top-10 targets and 2 of their Top-3

5* WR Caleb Hay (#8 Overall/#2 TX/#3 WR) has officially locked WSU out as he is now deciding between Texas and Oklahoma.

3* SS Taron Byler (#1846 Overall/#7 KS/#30 SS) has also done the same as he narrows his list down to 8 schools with Indiana leading. **Byler was one of the highest rated SS in the class and with all 3 of my SS graduating was a key target despite his 3* and 1846 Overall ranking.

5* CB Finau Cross (#15 Overall/#1 OK/#2 CB) was my #1 target but he has decided to stay home and has signed with Oklahoma.

4* RB Jason Nunn (#102 Overall/#1 WA/#10 RB) was the Washington Gatorade POY and a Top-5 target for me. He has signed with Colorado.

4* TE Khrystian Doman (#74 Overall/#4 CA/#2 TE) was another Top-10 target.. It started out a battle between WSU and Oregon but then Notre Dame jumped both of his after a Week 10 visit and he signed with the Irish.
