Rhamondre Stevenson shines in homecoming as Patriots dominate Raiders
The New England Patriots survived a hectic end to the first half and scored three touchdowns in the third quarter to rout the Las Vegas Raiders 45-16 on Sunday to keep them in contention for the top seed in the AFC.

Trailing by three points, the Patriots had the ball on the Raiders' 22-yard line with 47 seconds left in the first half when rookie receiver Barion Brown fumbled the ball. Gardner Minshew would complete passes of 24 and 49 yards on consecutive plays to extend their lead with a field goal as time expired.

It'd be short lived as Marcus Jones turned the second half kickoff 75 yards, setting up Rhamondre Stevenson's seventeen yard touchdown on the very next play to take the lead. Stevenson entered the game with zero rushing touchdowns and finished with three in a big time performance for the Vegas native who rushed for a career high 204 yards on 31 carries, playing sixty of the team's 64 snaps on offense.

The Patriots never looked back with Drake Maye finding two rookies -- Brown and Xavier Restrepo -- for touchdowns in the third quarter to begin the rout.

Defensively, Jerod Mayo and Co. deployed a unique gameplan with safety Kyle Dugger primarily playing at linebacker and the Patriots played with four corners instead -- Christian Gonzalez, Marcus Jones, Benjamin St-Juste and Daylen Everette -- and just one safety in Marte Mapu. This help neutralized the Raiders' passing attack and kept tight end Brock Bowers in check with just four catches for 26 yards.

New England was without safety Jabril Peppers and Mayo was non committal on if playing Dugger at linebacker was a long term switch.
