Sun Devils Serve Up Barbecue Buffalo
38 #3 Arizona State (10-0) @ Colorado (4-6) 7 | Folsom Stadium | Boulder, CO.

It wasn't the immediate blowout many Sun Devil fans were hoping for, but at the end of the day it still scores the same way—as a win.

Arizona State was methodical and intentional throughout the game, building a 17-0 lead going into the half that ballooned to 38-0 before Jackson Brousseau connected on a last-minute heave to keep the Buffaloes from being shut out at home for the first time since 2012.

Austin Mack threw an early interception, but rebounded with the poise he's shown all season. By halftime, he'd added two touchdown passes and the interception was his only incompletion of the half, having gone 14/15 outside of the miscue.

"Just keep firing. Trusting my eyes, making sure my mechanics are clean. All the usual stuff," Mack said when asked how he recovered from the interception so efficiently.

Arizona State moves to 10-0 with the win and continues their march toward not only the Big XII Championship Game, but likely another College Football Playoff berth.

Austin Mack Becomes Single Season Touchdown Leader
Mack passed Andrew Walter and Marco Bercovici to stand alone atop the record books
The Devil's Due Mailbag — Record Update Image By Diego Alfaro
Published: November 15th, 2027
When Austin Mack pulled the ball out of Kyson Brown's belly on the RPO and found Mason Mini for the four yard score, he did more than give the Arizona State Sun Devils the 14-0 lead.

He took first place in the program's record book, with his 31st touchdown pass breaking a tie with former Sun Devil Andrew Walter (2004) and Marco Bercovici (2015) to stand alone in the record book.

It was a fitting throw for a record-breaking touchdown. Mack has slowly become the quiet catalyst for the Sun Devils offense since joining the team for his final year of eligibility in the transfer portal. Instead of hunting the big play, Mack consistently finds the right play. The former Husky and Crimson Tide QB has completed passes to at least eight different receivers in five of the Sun Devils' 10 games this season.

"If you get open, I'll get you the ball," laughed Mack when asked about his ability to feed the multitude of mouths in the ASU offense.

"It's kind of bittersweet, this being my only year here," acknowledged Mack, who spent three years on the bench in Tuscaloosa before ultimately hitting the transfer portal.

"To all of the kids who were in my situation, don't be afraid to bet on yourself. I do think me spending all of that time learning helped. But at the same time, the best experience is game experience. Go somewhere you can get it and don't look back."

Mack would throw two more touchdown passes, already extending his own record up to 33 touchdowns.

When asked how high he wants to push the record in his one and only year in Tempe, Mack laughed.

"All the way up."

I'm still keeping my expectations tempered. We've got one of the easiest schedules in the country this year. Even our tough games - A&M aside - the teams (BYU & TCU) are struggling to stay above .500. I got a bad feeling we're going to end up facing Arch or Bryce in the playoffs and get RIPPED

2027 Week Twelve Preview
Cincinnati (1-9) @ #3 Arizona State (10-0)
The Devil's Due Mailbag — Week Twelve Preview Image By: Emilio Suarez
Published: November 19th, 2027
We're not going to get too deep in the weeds in the leadup to the Sun Devils Week Twelve tilt against the loathsome Bearcats. This one should, and likely will, be a massacre. The Bearcats have one of the worst defenses in the FBS, against one of the best offenses. And on that their own offense plays like they're allergic to scoring and this one could be over before the second quarter starts. Bill should have just retired that was the debacle in Chapel Hill, because it isn't getting any prettier for the former Super Bowl Champion.

Pitchfork Point

Image Stay healthy.

Easier said than done, especially as the Sun Devils continue to lose players in practice. Cory Butler Jr. is the latest Devil to get injured in practice, suffering an MCL Sprain that may shelf him for the remainder of the season. Butler Jr. hasn't caught a pass this season, but if injuries pile up quickly at wide receiver his absence would be significant. With Rawls already on the shelf, and Hughes serving the last game of his suspension, we just need to keep injuries to a minimum.
