A true rivalry has been formed. I haven't raige'd in a while like I did on those two failed fourth downs.

Kennesaw State cannot get over the proverbial hump as Liberty hands
Owls their first loss of the season
By Bernie Flowers
October 18th, 2027
The biggest win during the first season of head coach Bubba Mack's tenure at Kennesaw State wasn't the miracle against Louisiana Tech but the 29-24 win over then-undefeated Liberty which not only got the Owls to the program's first ever bowl game at the FBS level but also kept the Flames from making the playoffs.
Since then, however, the Flames have beaten the Owls three consecutive times and this last weekend was perhaps the toughest one as the Owls entered the game as the better team on paper and for most of the game played like it, outgaining the Flames by a football field and ran nearly double the amount of plays and had the ball for nearly forty five of the game's sixty minutes.
"We squandered a tremendous opportunity," a visibly frustrated Mack said after the game, "[Winning the conference] is still there for us but we had a really good chance at doing something special this season and we might still end up doing so but when you've got a chance to beat the champion, you have to do it. I think we've got a long way to go as a program if we're losing games like these and we just have to get back to work."
Mack was complimentary of quarterback Skyler Williams, who ultimately couldn't close out yet another comeback victory, leading plenty during his first-year as a starter last season. Entering the game, there was a lot of chatter around the public disagreement between Williams and Mack when Mack, a few weeks prior, put the quarterback's early season struggles in him trying to prove himself to his new teammates. Williams disagreed, saying he felt he had nothing to prove. When asked about Williams' comment, Mack was quick to shut it down.
"I don't really care about that," Mack said, "I'm more worried and focused on how we just lost this game and let I felt like was a team that we're better than be better than us when it mattered. I'm worried about that, right now."
The Owls will have to wear the loss for an extra week as they are on a bye this upcoming weekend.

Kennesaw State lands commitment from one of South Carolina's most productive receivers
Keke Hagg
Oct 21, 2027, 04:10 PM ET
KENNESAW, Ga. -- Three-star wide receiver Maurice Okuyemi has committed to the Kennesaw State Owls, picking the Black and Gold over Appalachian State in a recruitment that was prioritized by KSU's staff.
A diminutive receiver at five-foot-eight, Okuyemi weighed in at 166 pounds in the Under Armor Showcase this past summer where he was one of the standouts. A super productive receiver at the high school level, Okuyemi has twenty-five career touchdowns and if not for concerns surrounding his size and physicality, he could easily be one of the higher ranked receivers in the South.
The other question surrounding the Abbeville native is if he can make the transition to the slot which is where he will almost certainly play in college. In high school, Okuyemi has been deployed as an outside receiver with the ability to take the top off defenses with his top end speed but he'll need to work on the nuances of the position, as well as his route running, if he'll make the successful transition to the slot.
