I kind of guess Williams over Smith since Jeremiah is similar to D.K. but still, bold move there

Damn a 79 overall UDFA with SS dev?
He was a 76 when I signed him, put him through the training camp for two overall boost then he got another from XP in the pre-season. But yeah, was shocked he hadn't been signed yet.

he went to the Big Easy, so we'll see how it works out for both sides. Gonna be pissed if Smith is an X-Factor and Williams is just a star :pgdead:

Pittsburgh, PA. - It was supposed to be a celebration. The ring ceremony. The championship banners. The roar of 68,000 fans reliving last February's glory.

The Cincinnati Bengals had other plans.
Joe Burrow torched the Pittsburgh secondary for 469 passing yards in an attempt to spoil the party, but reigning MVP Anthony Richardson answered with 375 total yards and five touchdowns as the Steelers held on for a 42-35 victory Thursday night at Acrisure Stadium.

The win, however, came at a steep cost.

Star cornerback Jalen Ramsey left the game in the first quarter with what head coach Mike Tomlin later confirmed appears to be a broken collarbone. Ramsey was injured while tackling Ja'Marr Chase on a 12-yard completion, immediately clutching his left shoulder as he went to the ground.

"We're waiting on the X-rays, but the belief is a broken collarbone," Tomlin said after the game. "This is why we signed Marlon [Humphrey], to make sure we had depth when needed."

If the diagnosis is confirmed, Ramsey could miss 8-12 weeks, a devastating blow to a defense that has championship aspirations. Humphrey, the former Ravens standout who signed with Pittsburgh in the offseason, will be thrust into a starting role opposite Joey Porter Jr.

Both offenses came out firing in what quickly became a track meet. Richardson set the tone with a pair of highlight-reel touchdown runs, including a breathtaking 95-yard scamper in the first quarter that had the Acrisure Stadium crowd on its feet.
Burrow countered with surgical precision, connecting with Chase twice for touchdowns. The second TD reception, a 11 yard strike late in the second quarter, knotted the game at 21-21 and threatened to silence the home crowd.

Richardson wasn't fazed. The reigning MVP led the Steelers on an 80-yard drive in the final two minutes of the half, capping it with a perfectly placed 15-yard touchdown strike to rookie Ryan Williams in the back corner of the end zone with just twenty four seconds remaining. Williams' first career touchdown gave Pittsburgh a 28-21 halftime lead.

The stage was set for Richardson to execute the double-dip. score before halftime, receive the second-half kickoff, and score again. Instead, rookie receiver Kyler Kasper handled business himself. Kasper took the opening kickoff of the second half 99 yards to the house, electrifying the crowd and pushing Pittsburgh's lead to 35-21. It was the kind of momentum-shifting play that can break an opponent's will, but Burrow refused to fold.

The Bengals quarterback responded with his fourth touchdown pass of the night, a 59 yard strike to Christian Watson, his 2nd touchdown of the contest, that cut the deficit to 35-28 midway through the third quarter. Richardson would fire right back, however, with a 55 yard wheel route to Keaton Mitchell to push the lead back to two scores.

Cincinnati had two legitimate chances to cut into the lead in the fourth quarter, but Pittsburgh's defense, even without Ramsey, stepped up when it mattered most.

A failed fourth-down conversion at the Pittsburgh 34-yard line with 8:58 remaining ended one threat and lead to Pittsburgh's final touchdown, stretching the lead to 49-28. Then, with the Bengals driving again in the final two minutes, corner Joey Porter Jr picked off Burrow at the Pittsburgh 28-yard line to seal the victory.

For Pittsburgh, the win validates their status as Super Bowl favorites and proves they can win shootouts when their defense isn't dominant. Richardson's dual-threat ability remains impossible to contain, and the emergence of both Williams and Kasper gives the Steelers even more weapons in an already loaded offense.

But Ramsey's injury is a significant concern. Losing an All-Pro cornerback for potentially three months could force the Steelers to adjust their defensive philosophy. Humphrey is a quality replacement, but asking him to shadow the league's elite receivers on a weekly basis at age 31 is a tall order.

For Cincinnati, the loss is both encouraging and frustrating. Burrow proved he can still carve up any defense, but the Bengals' own defense remains a liability. Surrendering 42 points — including Richardson's 95-yard touchdown run and Kasper's kick return, won't win many games in the AFC North.

The division race is officially underway, and if Thursday night was any indication, it's going to be a wild ride.

Still let Burrow put belt to hindquarters on your secondary. Gotta clean that up in the future.

166 years on 5 carries is insane.

Ramsey is too old too be coming back from that injury. Better prepare for life without him.
