Signing Thibodeaux in the offseason was the insurance behind Highsmith. He isn't nearly as explosive as Highsmith, but with Watt on the otherside should see plenty of favorable fronts.

Pittsburgh, PA. - It was a rough debut in the Steel City for former Florida QB DJ Lagway, who absorbed more sacks than completions in an ugly contest at Acrisure Stadium.

Las Vegas opened the contest by fumbling the kickoff return, the first of three turnovers for the Raiders that resulted in 17 points for the Steelers. But despite the great field position the Raiders were able to hold the Steelers offense to a lone field goal after Maxx Crosby buried Richardson for a sack, one of five the former MVP would absorb on the day.

Ashton Jeanty would take advantage of a great punt return later in the 1st with a 54 yard touchdown run, but after that it was all Pittsburgh. Jeanty fumbled and Lagway threw an interception while the Pittsburgh offense wore down the Raiders defense with 23 points in the 2nd quarter behind three field goals and two touchdowns.

By halftime the Steelers had more field goals (4) than completions for Lagway (2) as the former Gator never got comfortable. Jeanty did his part, rumbling for 110 yards on just six carries, but with Lagway struggling the offense never gained traction. A 20 yard run by Jeanty and a 18 yard completion to Brock Bowers, the final completion of the game for Lagway in the 3rd quarter, got the Raiders in scoring range to take advantage of Lagway's athleticism for a 12 yard rushing touchdown.

It was the last time the Raiders would gain a first down.

"I talked to him after the game, just told him to keep his head up," said Richardson of Lagway, with Richardson being a former Gator himself. "I told him, look at me. I had some rough years in Indy and no one would believe the turn around if they hadn't seen it. I just told him to be true to himself and if he puts in the work, the results will come."

The Steelers move to 4-0 on the season, but despite that are a fry cry from the dominant offense they were last year. The points are there, but the efficiency is lacking. Richardson ic completing just 60% of his passes and the Steelers as a team has the 9th worst 3rd down percentage in the league (39%) and a negative turnover differential.

"We've got the crown, so we ain't surprising anyone, anymore," stated Mike Tomlin. "It's an adjustment for some guys, being the hunted. We're taking it one game at a time and seeing what happens."
