PALO ALTO, Calif. — Stanford quarterback Tavien St. Clair traveled with the team on Monday in anticipating for their road game against North Carolina and is expected to get the start according to head coach Bubba Mack.

St. Clair, who left last week's game against Kennesaw State with an upper body injury in the second quarter, threw a touchdown pass on his final play of the game when he was tackled to the ground shortly after throwing the ball. Mack said that the short turnaround for the Thursday night matchup 'tightened' their return to play plan for St. Clair but that as of Tuesday morning, St. Clair has been cleared for full contact.

The Cardinal will be spending the entire week in Charlotte as they get ready to play the Tar Heels in Mack's first real test as Stanford's head coach. In an effort to combat the three hour time difference between Palo Alto and Chapel Hill, as well as avoid any jet lag, Mack and the team flew in on Monday and have been practicing this week at a high school facility near the area.

It's been a season of upsets with Ohio State losing to Buffalo only to turn around this past weekend and upset No. 12 Alabama. The Cardinal will look to be the next unranked team to knock off a highly ranked opponent.
