From the Ashes.

‣ CFB 2027 Regular Season Week 0 - Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida
(0-0, 0-0 C-USA) Florida International Panthers at #5 Miami Hurricanes (0-0, 0-0 ACC)
FIU | 0 | 7 | 3 | 7 | 17
MIA | 3 | 21 | 7 | 14 | 45
Miami quarterback Keke Hagg turns it over four times in up and down performance against FIU
Miami Hurricanes fans saw plenty to be excited about in sophomore quarterback Keke Hagg and plenty to work on as the first-time starter threw three interceptions and lost a fumble but threw four touchdown passes in Miami's 45-17 win over Florida International in the regular season opener.
Hagg threw a pick six on a busted screen pass, fumbled the ball on a scramble in the first drive of the second half, threw another interception on an attempted throw away while getting hit and simply misfired a throw across the middle for his third interception.
Miami's defense allowed for the Hurricanes to dominate through Hagg's growing pans, intercepting FIU's Clayton Dees four times, including a pick six from sophomore Tommy Stacy that was returned 103 yards for the touchdown.
The Hurricanes running game would find its footing in the second half with Isaac Brown breaking free for a 70-yard run on the second to last play of the game to finish the day with 130 yards rushing Maurice Rugamba added 45 yards on the ground.
