Yea this was the best offseason I've had which i try and make it a challenge with some in house rules and no major recruiting skills. I finally jumped up to a 4.5 team rating so that was huge for me. I brought in to many good HBs as I don't have carries for all of them lol

Yea I think this is my year, I'm confident in my abilities as I've mastered this offense. The wildcard will always be what happens in the playoff game that i just watch. I've got to settle on a QB, I should prob go with the true freshman, but I've got some brutal road games coming up soon

Revenge Game Kicks off Brutal Stretch

We are looking for revenge after Oklahoma state upset us in the playoffs and made it to the championship game. They came into the season a top 10 team, but lost last week so dropped to 18th. We didn't want to put the pressure on a true freshman QB so go with the senior. They are a 92 overall team and it's on the road for us so a tough test.

A jet sweep out of flexbone empty by our #1 HB Gosset puts us on the board first after the 76-yard TD. They pull out the QB sneak on 3rd and inches and like always we stop it and force a punt. It's just week, but Tye Stewart has about wrapped up the jet award and returns a PR for a TD. Just 3 minutes into the game and Hazzard is up 14-0. We go I-form and our FB has the block of the year and Kugbila goes 64 yards, and a blowout looks to be on 21-3 and still the first quarter. They get the ball inside the 3 and we force a punt so still a comfortable lead 21-9. We would hold them to a 4th FG in the 3rd and up 9. They would also hold us to a FG for the 2nd drive in a row this is a key one as puts it back up 12 with just 8 minutes on the clock. We clinch it with a interception with 3 minutes by backup S Craig Peters. It wasn't a flashy score, but we get some redemption and win 27-15.

The pass defense struggled again giving up 330 yards. They held us to just 6 of 13 on 3rd down so that's why we scored less than usual. The senior Cesario played most of the way at QB and did what we wanted him to do not turn it over and enough passing yards to sort of keep them honest. When we are getting 9 yards per carry and not turning the ball over it's nearly impossible to beat us.

After beating the runner ups on the road lets take a look at the brutal 6 game stretch. It's why the QB race is a little more complicated with a true freshman involved

@ #6 LSU (96 OVR)
At LSU who is still elite, but this years team not as talented as some in the country. They don't have a proven QB, but a pair of elite WRs. Last year our defense played the game of the century barely letting them in positive yards through 3 quarters

@ # 3 UGA (99 OVR)
Always loaded with defense talent under Kirby and on the road, it doesn't get any tougher than this one. They also have senior QB that threw for 47 TDs last year.

#19 UF (86 OVR)
If there is a chance to take a breather during this stretch it's at home where Florida's offense is just rated 84. They are ranked though and has a top 10 game vs Oklahoma the week before us. This will be a big recruiting week for us.

@ Bama (97 OVR)
We are looking for redemption as Alabama beat us in about 6 OT's last year. A really tricky one Alabama a rating of 97 and it's at home. However we are actually a higher team prestige then they are still it's Alabama on the road. They also aren't ranked a loss really hurts us

#7 MIA (96 OVR)
The defending national champions and their QB always seems to put up major stats. They have 2 OL with near maxed out ratings and a QB with 14,219 yards, 159 TD and just 24 INT. This will be another major recruiting week

We Found The Greatest 4* OL Ever

We are always on the search for OL even if we didn't have it as a major need for this class. We are expected to return 7 interior OL and at least 5 of them we would be comfortable starting. All 6 OT's we are projected to back maybe one of those goes pro. Because of that we didn't want to use one of our 5* slots on a OL and went for the 4* ranks and boy was that the right call. We found 4 gems that we love, we have already lost one of those Juan Tolson to USC.

Eli Lindsay
A refresher we love our raw strength OL and its easily the best scheme fit for our powerbone offense. We have the greatest one of those ever Eli Lindsay a 6'5-and 278-pound hoss from Wisconsin. He has a strength of 98 something we have never seen which means we wouldn't need to spend any training working on that. We could then focus all of that on run blocking and abilities. He does already come with bronze strong grip and 81 run blocking. Some more good news is we found him in the preseason so we have been on him full force since the preseason which is key as we don't have a pipeline for that state. He has 4 other offers including the in-state Wisconsin. We do project to get a commit from him as we lead and in his in the top 5 stage. We have a visit for 6 vs Florida with 2 complimentary visits along with him. The hard sell isn't perfect with 2 at A+ and one at C+. Since week 6 is next week we think we should get a comfortable lead after the visit. He cares about champ contender so he would likely be ours forever if we get the commit. We have scouted thousands of OL and never saw one this strong so the best looking OL prospect we have seen. The only even little bit of risk is just impact dev

OG Tye Alba
Another 4* Midwest gem at OG and we are somehow his only offer. He is in the top 5 stage so a near lock to come to us, but we would like to get a visit week 8 or 9 just to be sure. He also comes in with 95 strength and 78 run block so a elite prospect

Mike Monty
The in-state guy we think we will lose out on to Alabama who has a better pipeline then we do. We are a 2-team race and they have the lead for the gem with 92 strength. He isn't as good as the others on top of not being as strong just 75 run block. Still he looks like a multi-year starter if we can get him in the fold. We are currently on week 5 and have a visit for week 6. It all comes down on us crossing our fingers Bama doesn't get the commit this week

Yea the hardest stretch of games that I remember ever having. I do hope to have that be the case every year for the extra challenge now that I'm getting elite classes. A lot of them are on the road as well so that adds a extra layer of challenge. Also have a unusual busy week I'll be back to posting and getting this caught up

Major Road Test At LSU

Our defense gets an interception on the first drive then our big TE gets a rushing TD from the FB spot. Our defense again comes through forcing a 3 and out. Then on the following drive Hasseneaur our #1 CB a jumping interception. but we get no points on it as we fumble at the 7. The 243-pound power back Carswell scores from 1 yard out and with 7 minutes still to go in the 2nd quarter and on the road we are up 21-0. The final play before half we add points TE Prosinki catches a TD and its 28-3. We get the ball to start with and have the kind of drive that gets us excited taking up 3/4 of the quarter and it ends with the 3rd TD for our TE. LSU gets on the board with the rare 103 yard pick 6. We score 2 late TDs to run up the score a bit including the 4th TD from our big TE. A dominating effort 56-17 on the road at LSU

We destroyed them in yards 634-220 and doubled them in yards per play. This was with us turning it over 2 times and Luckily, we were still +1 in turnovers. Cesario the senior QB did start and got banged up early and the we true freshman QB prob cemented himself as the starter tonight with 3 TD passes. The game belonged to the 6'6-and-272-pound TE with 4 TD's on 9 catches. This appears like its his breakout year as a true sophomore and all signs point to wanting to get him the TE of the year award.

Historic Defense Performance for DB

The toughest game of the year on the road vs the 99 rated UGA. We tie it up on the 64 yard option pitch TD by the speedy Tye Stewart. Hazzard was hanging in and it was tied at 7 at half. The freshman QB would tie in on a QB run in the early part of the 4th. We force a punt and now mid 4th quarter are getting the ball back about midfield so even a FG is huge here. However we get sacked on 3rd down and then UGA goes on to score twice in the 4th. We lose 28-14, but as long as this is the only loss in this stretch we will be in great shape. Oddly enough both teams had 309 yards of offense. It's just they had +1 in turnovers and were better on 3rd down.

We thought maybe this would be the easiest game of this 6-game stretch and it wasn't as Florida comes in 4-0 and ranked 11th. While they are just rated 86 they are led by a star senior QB rated 90 overall that's a dual threat. The defense starts it off again with an interception this time by junior CB Dylan Toney (92 ovr). We would score with a cheap passing TD out of the wildcat to starting HB Gossett. We were up 3 points going into half and figure we might as well take one hail Mary into the endzone so we put in the senior QB. He throws it deep at WR Van Dyke somehow comes up with it without jumping. A major play as now we are up 10 and get the ball to start the half. Gosset had a highlight run in the 2nd half, but that wasn't the story of the half. A all-time defense performance by freshman stud FS Angel Johnson (86) with 2 pick 6's including one that was 105 yards.

This was a close game despite the 44-24 score, however getting the blowout win was huge with some recruits visiting. The yards race was close 512-488 and that senior QB had 444 passing yards on us. The biggest news was we picked him off 4 times and that was the difference. They got us with the deep with 4 passes over 42+ yards. The time of possession was also about even which is rare for us. It's now on the road to #18 Alabama and then home vs #4 Miami before being able to take a deep breath

Defense Struggles vs Miami

This is another major test at #18 Alabama who is 5-0 with a team rating in the mid 90s. Also of note our #2 HB and KR Tye Stewart will miss the next few games. We get a stop on the first drive and they shank the punt. We have it 2nd and 1 close to the redzone where out of 5,000 tries we are converting this about 4,999 of those. As you would guess this was the one and the Bama defense we now see is going to be a problem. It's 3rd and goal for us from the 11 and the freshman QB hits our #1 WR for a TD on a curl. Our defense holds them again and it gets better when they miss the FG. Our power HB Kugbila gets hoot going 57 yards in 3 carries from the I-formation. We make it a 14 point lead as Prosinksi scores from the FB spot. We force them to a 3 and out and we get the ball back with a chance to tack on some more at the other 44 with 50 seconds. Then disaster hits we have it at the 6 with 6 seconds and going for one more attempt in the endzone despite no timeouts. we throw it too soon and It hits our WR in the butt and they pick it off for the 96 yard pick 6. Just like that we went from up 17 or 21 to 7.

The first play of the half wasn't any better as the freshman QB gets hurt so the senior plays the rest of the way. We have a key 3rd down drop by Brigance and are forced to punt and they go on to tie it. We are forced to punt again next drive and this bama defense may the best we have played against in recent memory. They hit a FG so we are down 3 with 5 minutes in the game. That wouldn't last long as Kugbila breaks off a 85 yarder again from the I-formation. Our defense forces a 3 and out and they punt it so that's huge a stop. They tried the goal line QB sneak on 3rd and inches as we stop that 99% of the time. We hit Prosinski on a RPO out of the backfield and get a big 1st, but aren't able to get another one to clinch the game. They drive it down in 50 seconds despite no timeouts, but we knock away the final pass and escape 21-17

Ugly wins still count and that is what this was with 420 yards of offense. We are glad we held on because if not that pick 6 they had before half is the type of play that can destroy your season. You would have liked to seen how the true freshman QB would have bounced back after that play. He is expected to be back next week. We are deep at HB, btu Kugbila the Oregon transfer WR is stepping up as the #1

Miami comes in the defending national champions ranked 4th and yet another elite QB that's getting drafted we have to stop. They march it down the field with ease, but Kugbila ties it up on a run. They have a very fast HB and his 2nd TD of the night gives them a 10-point lead. Their defense was also a problem, and they get us for a sack on one of our go to bootleg plays. This puts us down 12 and we are in trouble despite being at home. A note we have 3 big visitors in for visit including two 5* so we can't afford to take a loss here. We can't get anything going on offense and have to punt down 12. They miss an FG and we go to the locker room down 9. We do get the ball to start so we are still very much in this.

Leamon scores from 2 yards out and we cut the lead to 2. We go man blitz on 3rd down and they make us pay a 55-yard TD and this puts the lead for them at 12 again. We go with the senior whose the better passer since we are down 12 and that was the bad move as the first play, he fumbles it and they recover. We get lucky a holding call stalls the drive and they miss a FG and the lead stays at 12. Now the freshman is back in, and he scores with his legs so now a 5-point lead with 3 to go. A stop and you have to think we win the game, but our #4 CB Ball misses a tackle and they ice it with that 78-yard TD.

The super rare double digit home loss to us which i don't think has happened since we become an elite team. They had 502 yards of offense and us just 305 I would say the biggest of those in recent memory as well. With 3 major recruits here to watch the game it really hurts from that and that including a 5* Gem HB, 4* gem OG and 5* CB. We just couldn't stop them on offense and they had the better defense. We lied and we think this Miami defense may be better then the Alabama one
