Hurricanes land key offensive duo with commitments from IMG teammates running back Kaseem Dalton and receiver Etinosa Ha
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports Miami Insider

The Miami Hurricanes continue to bolster their 2028 recruiting class, securing commitments from two game-changing offensive weapons at IMG Academy: Kaseem Dalton, a powerful five-star running back out of Clairton, PA, and Etinosa Ha, a dynamic five-star wide receiver. Both players bring unique skills that address key needs for Miami, adding a mix of physicality, speed, and versatility to the Hurricanes’ offensive arsenal.

At 5-foot-10 and 235 pounds, Dalton is a bigger back known for his ability to absorb and run through contact, showing remarkable balance and power. Ranked as the No. 3 running back in the 2028 class, Dalton chose Miami over offers from Florida, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. His commitment gives Miami a true workhorse back capable of wearing down defenses and excelling in short-yardage situations. Dalton could see the field as early as next year, should Isaac Brown choose to enter the draft.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 195 pounds, Etinosa Ha brings a polished skillset to Miami’s wide receiver room. Known as a traditional boundary receiver, Ha’s strengths lie in his balanced speed and advanced route-running skills, which allow him to run the complete route tree effectively. Ranked as the No. 3 receiver in the nation, Ha turned down offers from Florida State, Georgia, and Alabama to commit to Miami.

With Ha's commitment, the Hurricanes swept the state when it comes to the Sunshine State's top three receivers in Max North, Tyler Rattay and Ha with all three complimenting each other's skillset. North and Ha are ideally suited to play on the outside while Rattay is the most versatile of the bunch with his ability to line up both outside and in the slot, similar to current Miami receiver Joshisa Trader.

Miami is slightly edging Oregon for the top class in a battle that will likely come down to National Signing Day.

Bye Week Report: Armed with a favorable schedule, the runway is there for the Hurricanes to make a run at the ACC Championship
Manny Ledo -- The Miami Herald Sports Columnist

Clemson and Florida State both dropped games last week while the Hurricanes blew out the Duke Blue Devils to bring their ACC record to 2-1, eight in the ACC but with a clear path to end up in the top two by season's end.

As the Hurricanes head into their bye week, there are five ACC teams with an undefeated record in North Carolina, Pittsburgh, SMU, Boston College and NC State. Miami only has to play one of those teams, NC State, on the road in a month. North Carolina will play both Florida State and NC State while Pittsburgh plays NC State, SMU and Boston College which will help sort out and clear a path for a one conference loss Miami team to be able to sneak up and make the championship game.

Even with two losses on the year, the Hurricanes are still ranked seventh in the latest AP Poll so if they can hold serve, win the games they're supposed to, Miami is likely looking at a fourth consecutive playoff appearance.

Team Leaders
Passing: Keke Hagg (66% completion, 1731 yards, 17 TD, 7 INT, 148.6 QB rating)
Rushing: Isaac Brown (533 yards, 4.7 ypc, 5 TD)
Receiving: Jeremiah Smith (26 receptions, 432 yards, 4 TD)
Defense: CB Elias Raines (17 tackles, 5 INT, 5 PBU)

PFF Offensive Line Grade
LT Samson Okunlola: 70.3 PFF grade
LG Juan Minaya: 70.3 PFF grade
C Will Larkins: 58.5 PFF grade
RG Frankie Tinilau: 66.4 PFF grade
RT Richard Cookus: 69 PFF grade

Turnover Differential: +9

Remaining Schedule
vs. Louisville (4-2)
at Virginia Tech (2-3)
vs. California (2-3)
at NC State (5-0)
vs. Georgia Tech (3-2)

Midseason Award - Most Valuable Player
Prior to his fumbles and benching, it would have been Isaac Brown who has been the most consistent player offensively for the Hurricanes. For now, we'll give the slight edge to Jeremiah Smith who has 432 yards on the year and four touchdowns.

Midseason Award - Most Improved Player
A dark horse for MVP, Elias Rudolph leads the team with seven sacks with four of them coming in the big win over Auburn.

He's had three straight game with at least one sack and the only games he didn't get a sack in this year where South Carolina and Utah where he played less than twenty one snaps in both games. When he's being used and put on the field, Rudolph has been uber productive and is on pace for a double-digit season after having just five career sacks heading into his redshirt junior year.

Midseason Award - Best Freshman
This is a veteran team with not a lot of young players getting burn so the winner, almost by default, is quarterback Bernie Flowers.

Flowers' 64 snaps played this year are the most for a freshman and in the games he's appeared in, all blowouts, he's averaging 134 passing yards, 47 rushing yards and four touchdowns in essentially three quarters. The future is bright at quarterback with Flowers who looks like he's going to be a fun player to watch for years to come.

Midseason Superlative - Most Disappointing Unit
The offensive line has continued to struggle despite, unlike last year, having the same starting five for every game this season. The left side has been solid in Samson Okunlola and Juan Minaya but from center one, especially in the losses, the right side has really struggled and needs to pick it up if the Hurricanes are going to win meaningful games.

Team doesn't feel as impressive as last year, what's your take on that? Think you still got a shot at doing some damage to finish off the year?

agreed, we just don't have the big time play makers on offense or defense. I don't think we have enough firepower to make it through the playoffs
