The Chargers continue their NFC West trek, this time facing their city rival, the Los Angeles Rams. This also marks their last consecutive game in the state of California as they travel to Denver next week and Miami after that.

This is yet another tough matchup for the Chargers defense as they have to play up against an offense with a legitimate QB in Jared Goff, a dangerous running back in Zamir White and an elite WR trio in JaMarr Chase, Cooper Kupp and rookie WR Conor Barber.

For the Chargers, it's a favorable matchup against a struggling Rams defense. It doesn't help that Hunter Henry is out with an injury and that Jalen Ramsey will likely blanket one side of the field. Outside of that, however, the Rams are adjusting to life without Aaron Donald and don't present a dangerous pass rush. They have solid linebackers in Kenneth Murray, Bobby Wagner and Micah Persons but the Chargers should still look to establish the running game and should find some success doing so.

Rams Rally in Fourth Quarter, Intercept Wheaton Twice to Seal Win over Chargers
In the battle for Los Angeles, two passes would end up being the deciding factor.

A drop on 4th and 17 that would have given the Chargers the ball with 10:38 left in a tie game on the Rams' side of the field. A pick six with 46 seconds left as the Chargers were driving while down by three points as the Rams hung on for a 30-20 win.

Rashaud Wheaton nearly outplayed and beat a former number one overall pick in Jared Goff, throwing for 256 yards and two touchdowns before two interceptions would hamper his performance, the final one coming on a Hail Marry attempt with zero seconds left.

Denver and the Chargers are 29th and 28th, respectively, in the standings and are very similar across the board when it comes to most stats outside of Denver's total defense. The loser of this game, however, could find themselves with the worst record in the league depending on how the Giants, Lions and 49ers fare this week. With both franchises being in the dumps, it could be argued that for the front office, that is the desired upon outcome.

King Leads Broncos Down the Field in 54 Seconds, Set Up Gay Game Winner vs. Chargers
Anything you can do, I can do better.

That's what D'Eriq King showed on Sunday as he watched Rashaud Wheaton lead his team down the field for the go ahead field goal with 54 seconds left in the game only for King to do the same as Matt Gay's field goal went through the upright with zeros on the scoreboard and a Denver 27-25 win over the Chargers.

King had completions of 17, 20, 18 and 16 on four consecutive plays as the Chargers pass rush was non existent, giving him enough time to pick apart the Chargers secondary that had struggled all day. King finished the game with 414 yards passing on 77 percent completion while also rushing for 24 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Wheaton had one of his better days as a pro, going 16 of 29 for 227 yards and no interceptions. Felix Whittaker rushed for 123 yards before an upper body injury took him out of the game.

Whittaker's Bounce Back Sophomore Season Cut Short, Heads To IR
The Los Angeles Chargers have placed second year running back Felix Whittaker on Injured Reserve.

Whittaker, 22, tore a muscle in his abdomen last week in the loss against the Denver Broncos. Whittaker leads the team in rushing with 633 yards and four touchdowns in just seven games, averaging a whopping 90.4 yards per game at a 5.1 yards per carry.

After a disappointing rookie season with just fifteen carries, Whittaker has lived up to his second round selection this season with two games rushing over 100 yards and his other five all being at least 40 yards.

The team activated running back Denard Kendricks from IR.
