No Controversy This Time Around as Chargers Get Blown Out by Seahawks
The Los Angeles Chargers held on for as long as they could until they just gave out.

They made it interesting in the second quarter but Seattle's two touchdowns in the final 40 seconds of the game would prove to be the difference maker as the Seahawks pulled away with the 46-29 victory.

The turning point was the 92 yard run by Quinnen Staley to end the half. The rookie rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns after Chris Carson left the game with an injury just 9 carries in. At that point, Carson had a touchdown but just eight yards.

Russell Wilson did his part as well, throwing for 294 yards and two touchdowns. He particularly targeted the Chargers linebackers with crossing routes and going to his tight end Will Dissly who had two touchdowns and 103 yards receiving.

Despite playing this team just two weeks ago, the Chargers will be facing a totally different Raiders team. They have won their last two games and get back their two best offensive players in Josh Jacobs and Chris Godwin.

The Raiders still have an outside shot of making the playoffs by winning out the rest of their schedule and having Kansas City drop just one game. The Raiders cannot make the playoffs as a wild card team, however and Kansas City plays the Chargers next week.

Wheaton Injured in Chargers Loss to Raiders
Kris Buchanan was slated to spend another year bouncing around from practice squad to practice squad until the Los Angeles Chargers traded Hal Sams and needed a backup QB after a rash of injuries across the league resulted in many of the veteran free agent quarterbacks being picked up.

Buchanan almost did the impossible, replacing injured starting QB Rashaud Wheaton and twice leading the Chargers in scoring position only to fall short as the Las Vegas Raiders hung on for a 23-16 win.

Wheaton left the game in the third quarter with an ankle injury. The Chargers clawed their way to a 16-16 tie and with less than two minutes left in the game, Buchanan had led the Chargers into the Raiders side of the field, only to throw a pick six.

With 1:51 left in the game, Buchanan once again led the team to scoring position but with 11 seconds left and no timeouts, his completed pass in bounds left the team with no time left to spike the ball.

He finished 10 of 23 for 171 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.

The first time around, the Chargers got to escape the wrath of Patrick Mahomes, only to still lose to his backup. This time around, the Chargers can spoil the Chiefs playoffs hope and put an end to their disappointing season with an upset win.

Kansas City's been riddled with injuries and haven't had the season that many wished for as the prime years of Mahomes are rapidly approaching their end. If Las Vegas is able to beat Denver, a team Kansas City couldn't beat last week, the Chiefs could find themselves out the playoffs with a loss to the Chargers.

The Chargers can clinch the top pick in the draft with a loss and/or a Detroit loss. If the Chargers do win the game, they can end up picking as 'low' as sixth depending on the outcome of several other games.
