BRONCOS MOVE TO #5!!!

GAME RECAP

Boise State moved to (10-1) Overall and ((6-1) in Pac-12 play this week with a road win over Oregon State. The win not only keeps BSU in the hunt for a 4th straight Pac-12 title and a 6th trip to the CFP but BSU got some major help in the rankings as several Top-5 teams lost opening the door for Boise State to claim it's 3rd Top-4 seed.

The Broncos dominated the Beavers in the 1st half jumping out to a (14-3) lead in the 1st Quarter and a (28-3) lead at half time, as Tua Draft returns to the starting lineup after getting a week off during Senior Night. The Junior QB threw 3 TD's in the 1st half as Bettis, Boykins and Flaherty all hauled in scores.

Both teams found the endzone in the 3rd Quarter to make it (35-10) going into the 4th. True Freshman Brian Crum continued his solid play as he adds 2 touchdowns in the 4th Quarter giving him 14 on the season despite playing just 6 games. Crum would finish just shy of 100 yds on the day finishing with 97 yds giving him 760 yds on the season leaving him still in reach of continuing Boise State's streak of 1000 yd rushers.

Oregon State playing against mostly the 2nd string Defense in the 4th would rally to score 3 times as backup RB Dre Brown (81 ovr) caps off 3 drives with short touchdown runs (9 carries 32 yds 3 TD).
FINAL SCORE BOISE STATE-49 OREGON STATE-31
KEY PLAYERS
QB T. Draft-24/39 321 yds 3 TD 1 INT
RB B. Crum-23 carries 97 yds 2 TD
RB J. Boykins-5 carries 36 yds 1 TD, 2 rec 15 yds 1 TD
RB/FB T. Fry-3 carries 8 yds 1 TD
WR T. Crook-6 rec 97 yds
WR K. Buckner-6 rec 62 yds
WR K. Bettis-4 rec 48 yds 1 TD
TE J. Flaherty-4 rec 72 yds 1 TD
TE R. Carney-2 rec 27 yds

UP NEXT

Boise State will close out it's regular season with a trip to Seattle for a matchup with Coach "D" and the Huskies.. Coach Miller is currently 3-0 against his former mentor. The Huskies enter the game (7-4) Overall and (4-3) in Pac-12 play. Boise State and Oregon are still tied with a (6-1) record in conference play but BSU holds the tiebreaker with the win over the Ducks so as long as they win out they are in the Pac-12 Championship with what appears to be a rematched with Arizona State.

RECRUITING UPDATE
Boise State went 2/3 on the Recruiting trail this week. The Broncos lost out on 5* RT Brenden Wilder (#26 Overall/#3CA/#5 OT) Wilder visited BSU in Week 10 but took at Week 11 visit to Alabama and signed with the Tide.

Despite missing out on Wilder this week was a major victory as BSU lands 2 of the Top-4* Recruits in the nation. 4* RG Eric Cole (#96 Ovr/#1 NM/#6 OG) was New Mexico's Gatorade POY and had scholarship offers from Clemson and Miami.

4* DT Damien Kern (#65 Ovr/#8CA/#1 DT) was the #1 DT in this year's class. . The 6'4 300lb San Mateo CA native had offers from Notre Dame and UCLA.

With the signings of Cole and Kern BSU now has 9 players committed (4-5*,4-4*,1-3*). BSU is tied with Alabama for the most 5* Recruits and the class currently ranks #7 Overall and #1 in the Pac-12.

MAJOR SHAKEUP IN THE RANKINGS

#1 Oklahoma State kept it's #1 spot in the rankings as they move to 11-0 with a (16--8) win over Kansas State this week.. The Cowboys will look to finish a perfect 12-0 next week as they host Kansas.

The rest of the Top-12 though is completely changed...

#2 Georgia defeated Virginia Tech (63-21) to move to (10-1) but dropped to #3 as the Tigers take over #2

#3 Miami's Top-4 seed dreams are dashed as the Hurricanes fall (38-28) to #12 Florida. With the win the Gators jump 5 spots to #7 well the Hurricanes take the #12 spot in the rankings holding onto a slim hope of a playoff spot.

#4 Clemson defeated #6 Duke (41-7) and with the victory move to (10-1) and up to #2 in the rankings. The Blue Devils are now (9-2) and drop to #16 as their playoff hopes are dashed.

#5 Pitt moved to #4 with a (45-24) win over Indiana. The Pitt vs Penn State Week 13 showdown just took a major hit after #9 Penn State drops to #20 in the rankings after a (42-40) loss to Illinois this week.. With their playoff hopes gone all they can do is hope to play spoiler against the Panthers.

With Boise State's win they move from #8 to #5 and very well could be in the best position to move into the Top-4 should Clemson struggle against #22 South Carolina in their Week 14 matchup.

#7 Nebraska moves up 1 spot to #7 after their (51-26) win over Iowa State. The Huskers will host Iowa in Week 14.

#10 Texas jumps 2 spots to #8 with a (20-19) win over TAMU.. The Longhorns close out their season @ TCU

#11 Ole Miss keeps it's undefeated season alive with a (38-33) win over Kentucky.. The Rebels will put their (11-0) record to the test against instate rival Miss State in the Egg Bowl

#16 Oklahoma keeps it's playoff hopes alive as they move 3 pots to #13 with a (59-13) win over Kansas. The Sooners will play @ K-State in Week 14.

#15 Notre Dame moves to #14 with a (38-31) win over Purdue to stay the highest rank team with 3 loss's but can they still make enough of a move to make the playoffs. They will need a big win @ USC to find out.

#17 Oregon defeated Washington State (40-7) to leave a slim chance at the playoffs as they move to #16. The Ducks need the Broncos to lose and earn a spot to the Pac-12 Championship to build their resume into a spot in the Final-12.

#21 (10-1) BYU moves to #9 and (10-1) UConn joins to the Top-25 at #24 becoming the (2) highest ranked G5 schools.. But with 2 undefeated teams and 6 other 1 loss teams currently in the Top-10 it doesn't look like their resume will be enough to make a move into the Final 12.

Oregon has become my top rival within the Pac-12, but this game does have a little more extra to it with Coach Danielson at the helm.. Washington has made a history of taking Bronco coaches, with Coach Pete and alot of assistants and now with Coach D.

Yeah I think it's going to come down to Championship Week. Oklahoma State will have to play Texas, Georgia and Clemson should battle it out for the ACC and Pitt should have a Top-25 matchup with Michigan or Ohio State, so I think there is a good chance 1 or 2 of them lose and give us a chance to jump up.

BRONCOS CLINICH PAC-12 NORTH TITLE!!!

GAME RECAP
Boise State has done it. The Broncos clinch the Pac-12 North title for a 4th straight year earning a spot in the Pac-12 Championship and most likely the College Football playoffs for a 7th straight season (6 in this game). The win also makes Coach Matt Miller 4-0 against his former boss as Coach Danielson drops another heart breaker to his former team playing against the last full recruiting class he was apart of during his time in Boise.

Coach "D"
They got alot of talent on that sideline and even though I am not their coach any more I am super proud of those young men and what they accomplished. Matt has done a amazing job and I would be lying if there wasn't some regret in wishing I would've stayed and been apart of that success."
Washington actually lead at the end of the 1st Quarter (14-7) but Boise State scored 28 unanswered points to take a (35-14) lead but Washington closes out the 1st half with a 80 yd TD pass from JR QB J. Koroma (83 Ovr) to SO Conner Jamerson (86 Ovr) who finishes with 5 rec for 143 yds 1 TD/ Koroma completed 14/22 229 yds 2 TD.

Boise State 1st Half stats
T. Draft- 18/27 213 yds 2 TD
B. Crum 18 carries 116 yds (6.4 avg) 1 TD, 1 ec 10 yds
J. Boykins 4 carries 23 yds (5.7 avg) 2 TD, 2 rec 15 yds 1 TD
T Crook 5 rec 80 yds 1 TD,
J. Flaherty 5 rec 71 yds

Boise State would extend their lead to (49-31) in the 3rd Quarter despite playing almost the entire 2nd half with RB Brian Crum on the sidelines with leg cramps. Washington would open up the 4th Quarter closing the gap to (49-38) as Koroma throws his 4th TD of the game finding Jameson for his 2nd touchdown, but BSU answers back with another score as Boykins scores his 4th touchdowns (3rd rushing) with a 23 yd run to make it (56-38).

Koroma comes back firing making it (56-45) with less then 4 minutes to play but BSU answers back with a nice 6 play drive capped off by a 1 yd touchdown by backup FB Tobias Teague to make it (63-45).. Koroma already with over 400 yds and 5 scores on the day however fails to lead the comeback as the Junior QB throws a INT to Larry Halapio as BSU seals the victory.. BSU would add on a 45 yd FG to close out the scoring.
FINAL SCORE BOISE STATE-66 WASHINGTON-45
KEY PLAYERS
QB T. Draft-35/48 (72%) 428 yds 4 TD
RB B. Crum-22 carries 110 yds 1 TD, 1 rec 10 yds
RB J Boykins-10 carries 58 yds 3 TD, 4 rec 32 yds 1 TD
RB R. Amerson-10 carries 45 yds
FB T. Teague-1 carry 1 yd 1 TD
WR T. Crook-10 rec 169 yds 2 TD
WR K. Bettis-7 rec 67 yds
WR K. Buckner-5 rec 45 yds
TE J. Flaherty-7 rec 102 yds 1 TD
CB L. .Halapio- 1 INT

IMPACT FROM THE GAME

Despite their win, BSU drops back 2 spots in the rankings this week dropping to #7.. Boise State now (11-1) Overall and (7-1) in Pac-12 play will not get a chance to get revenge for their only loss of the year as they get a rematch with (8-4) Arizona State.

This will mark the 3rd time BSU and ASU has faced each other in the Pac-12 Championship..

RECRUITING UPDATE

It was another mix week for Boise State as they add 2 more key members to the recruiting class but also lose out on 5* QB Clayton McMullen (#18 Overall/#1 NJ/#4 QB) The New Jersey Gatorade POY has officially narrowed his list down to Pitt and Illinois.

With Clayton off the board, the Broncos currently don't have a high school QB recruit on their Big Board and with backup QB D'Andre Webb set to graduate will most likely be looking to the portal as they try and land a future QB to take over for Tua Draft who has so far officially declared he is returning for his Senior season.

BSU did however come away with 4* Juwann Fries (#86 Ovr/#2AZ/#1 C) from Chandler Arizona and 4* DT Trevor Bouchard (#97 Ovr/#1 WA/#2 DT)..

Miller
"Fries was the #1 rated Center in this year's class and Bouchard was the Washington State Gatorade POY and the #2 DT and both players are Top-100 recruits so well we are disappointed about Clayton McMullen we honestly feel free happy this week"
Boise State now has 11 players signed with 10 players landing in the Top-100 giving the Broncos the #8 Overall Class in the nation.
