Turnovers will be the key point. My defense still tends to let the robo QB go off at inopportune times, so as long as we can keep our side clean we should be able to put up enough points to stay ahead of the curve

Kukwa Spurns Longhorns At The Buzzer
Austin, TX. - Maybe Iosefa Kukwa decided that three 5* cornerbacks in the same class was too much. Maybe the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma natives family steered him clear of a regional rival. Or maybe he recognized the need for more pigment in the Texas secondary.
But whatever the reason, Kukwa threw a wrench in the Longhorns recruiting plans by cancelling his Week 10 visit to Austin and announcing his intent to join the University of Arkansas football program.
"Texas was in the lead most of the way, but the more I talked with the Arkansas coaching staff, the more at home I felt," Kukwa stated after donning the Arkansas cap in his hometown gym.
Kukwa wasn't the only recruit to spurn the Longhorns over the weekend as the 4th highest rated interior lineman, John Boss, selected the SMU Mustangs over the Longhorns in a race that came down to the wire.
Despite the two high profile recruiting losses, the Longhorns did secure a commitments from WR Isaiah Stubbs - the 232nd overall prospect - and JUCO MLB DeMarcus Maybin, a native Texan hailing from League City.
With two more signings over the weekend Texas has pulled into 5th place in the national rankings with 13 total prospects (4 - 5*, 6 - 4*, 3 - 3*) with 5* ATH(QB) Eric Stubbs from Draper, Utah as the lone 5* remaining on the Longhorns recruiting board.
One name to keep an eye on is HB Junior Rea, a late addition to this years class after re-classifying. The 5'9, 208lb Texas native comes in at 225th nationally, 27th in the state of Texas, and 17th positionally. Texas, West Virginia, and Oregon are the early leaders with early reports indicating Texas has already offered the San Antonio product a scholarship.

Starkville, MS. - The only thing standing between Texas and a 42–0 halftime lead in Starkville was themselves. A failed fourth down conversion and a missed chip-shot field goal were the lone blemishes in what was otherwise a dominant first half by the Longhorns, who overwhelmed Mississippi State en route to a 49–10 rout.
Texas outgained the Bulldogs 346–27 in the first half and rebounded from last week’s modest pass rush with a ferocious 7-sack showing. Both Diego Battles and freshman phenom James Mosely notched two sacks apiece, leading a swarming defensive front.
The game opened with a rare fourth down misfire, as WR Rico Mama came up inches short on a fourth-and-three reception. But any momentum the Bulldogs hoped to gain was quickly erased when LB Miguel Giuliano leveled QB George Ebukam on third down, silencing the home crowd.
From there, Texas took over. Earl Petty broke loose for a 24-yard touchdown, his second of the season, and while the next drive stalled with a missed 24-yard field goal by freshman Edward Jaimes, Maurice Uwazurike responded with three straight touchdown drives to close the half, giving Texas a 28–0 lead.
Mississippi State opened the third quarter with a brief glimmer of hope, but their drive stalled near midfield. Uwazurike wasted no time capitalizing, hitting Petty on a 33-yard swing pass—part of Petty’s 226 total yards—and then connecting with Prince Oluokon for their third touchdown of the game.
Bulldogs RB Najee Bullough finally gave the home fans something to cheer about with a thunderous 82-yard touchdown run, breaking multiple tackles and showing off his elite speed. A late field goal would be the only other highlight for Mississippi State.
In a surprise move, head coach Nash Savage turned to true freshman QB Emilio Delgado for the fourth quarter. When asked about the decision, Savage emphasized the importance of live reps.
“We love what Emilio’s done in practice during his redshirt year, but nothing compares to game action—especially in a hostile environment,” said Savage. “If we need him next year, I want him sharp.”
Delgado made the most of his debut, finishing a perfect 7-for-7 for 101 yards.
“I know people were excited for this matchup,” said Rece Davis as the game wound down, “but this shouldn’t come as a surprise. Texas has been the real deal all year. I’m not sure many teams can match their speed or survive the pace they set. Mississippi State has made strides, but that loss to Georgia was telling. Today just confirmed the gap.”
With the win, Texas heads into a rare late-season bye at 9–0, with a top-five showdown against #3 Ole Miss looming on Senior Day in Austin.
Meanwhile, Ball State made a thunderous statement of their own, dismantling #10 Penn State 63–7. Manny Livings and Karlos Farris continued their relentless tear, connecting for five touchdowns and catapulting Farris into the national lead in receiving scores—and into serious Heisman contention.
