Stanford's Trumaine Lasike rushes for 304 yards in opener against Hawai'i
Stanford running back Trumaine Lasike's Heisman campaign got off to a hot start with a school record 304 rushing yards in the season opener against Hawai'i as the Cardinal's new look defense made just enough stops in the 41-23 victory on Saturday night.
Lasike's second carry of the night went for 59-yards as the Cardinal as Stanford was engaged in a back and forth battle with the Rainbow Warriors in the first half. Stanford's defense was able to settle in after allowing a touchdown on their first drive, limiting Hawaii to just seven points in the next two quarters.
In his first career start, Alex Rowe threw for 339 yards, completing seventy two percent of his passes for Stanford. Rashawn Crouse scored a touchdown on his second carry of the night as well in his freshman debut and sophomore Rodney Cookus was the top receiver with four receptions for 78 yards.

304 yards is crazy lol. I think we as a collective need to ditch canes’ sliders for some different ones.
