TRANSFER PORTAL/RECRUITING

Transfers
I am currently rolling with a Max of 8 Transfers per School with my School % at 30 and the CPU % at 28. I might adjust this to 10 players max in the future but I would like to see actually less top tier players leave their teams so it's a work in progress.

Recruiting
I use to have hard recruiting rules but the Transfer Portal has sorta of change how I approach recruiting now. As a 2* program I don't expect that WSU would be landing multiple 5* recruits in a single season but I won't shy away from recruiting one if they are from the Pacific Northwest and especially if they have the Cougars in their Top-10. As far as 4* guy's go I can only recruit them if they have WSU in their Top-5 to start the year. If by mid-season I don't have any 4* remaining on my Big Board I will allow myself 1 player on each side of the ball (Offense/Defense) that has no scholarship offers to be added to my Big Board.

My main focus is to build WSU with Pacific Northwest players. Besides players who have me Top-3 to start the year, my big board will be made up of Washington/Idaho/Oregon players as well as states like Montana, Utah, Nevada and California.

ABOUT ME THE AUTHOR

I will turn 50 this coming year.. I grew up just North of Boise Idaho and attended alot of Boise State games as a kid. I however also was a huge Washington State fan and followed the Cougars during the Drew Bledsoe days and Ryan Leif era, and in my mid 20's actually moved to a town outside of Pullman and had season tickets to the Cougars for 2 years both Football and Basketball . I also lived in Spokane for 5 years later in life and traveled down for several games a year.

I now live in Eastern Oregon. I am 3 hours from Boise about 3 1/2 hours to Pullman and live 5 hours from Oregon/Oregon State.. Besides playing College Football (and hopefully one day Basketball again) I also enjoy playing COD and Battlefield with friends. I am a pastor of a small community church and am heavily involved at our local high schools through Fellowship of Christian Athletes.. I am also a avid Disc Golfer and travel all over the Pacific Northwest playing in 15-20 tournaments a year.. I have also traveled to Nevada and Arizona to play in National tournaments that are apart of the Pro Disc Golf Tour.

I am married without kids, and my wife is a avid gamer as well, that runs discord events on both XBOX and PC, thus why I have alot of free time in the evenings after work to still game..

I have been posting my dynasties since College Hoops 2K8 back on their forums and move to Operation Sports Forums after they got shut down. I have posted 2k8, NBA2K, MLB The Show, and Multiple College Football dynasties over the years.

HISTORY OF WSU
A small farming community in Eastern Washington Pullman is surrounded by Wheat Fields. WSU football put its name in the history books in 1915 winning the Rose Bowl defeating Brown University. The Cougars would return to the Rose Bowl 15 years later but fall short losing to Alabama (24-0)

Cougar fans would have to wait 67 years before the school would make a return trip. Cougar fans saw some great football in the early 90's as QB Drew Bledsoe led the charge but . In 1997 led by Mike Price and QB Ryan Leif led the Cougars to a #9 ranking in the AP Poll and a trip to Pasadena to take on #1 Michigan. Excitement was at a all-time high in Pullman but just like in the past the Cougars would fail in their upset bid (21-16). Price however was building a foundation and just 5 years later in 2002, WSU would attain it’s highest AP ranking (#7) and a matchup with Oklahoma as they head back to the Rose Bowl for a 4th time. . Despite falling short yet again (34-14) Price would leave Pullman and head South to Alabama where he would be fired before ever coaching a game, leaving WSU to turn to it's DC Bill Dobba to be named the new HC of the Cougars.

After years of just trying to stay at .500, WSU fired former DC Bill Dobba and hoped that former Eastern Washington HC Paul Wuff would ignite something in Pullman that had been lost.. Wuff however would struggle with the move to Div 1A going 9-40 in 4 seasons at the helm.

The Mike Leach Years (2012-2019).
The arrival of the former Texas Tech HC and his Air Raid Offense was just what Cougar fans needed. Leach would lead the Cougars to multiple Bowl appearances and Bowl wins including 2019 his final season leading WSU to its first ever 11 win season as WSU defeated Iowa State in the Alamo Bowl but that success would lead to his departure as he took the HC job at Miss State. Once again the Cougars were left looking for a new leader.

The next 6 years WSU would roll through 3 HC’s including HC Jimmy Rodgers who left after just 1 season leading WSU to a 6-6 record in 2025..

However, just like in life, past season’s/years are just chapters in our story and now it’s time for a new chapter to begin. Because this story is just getting started.. There is “Moore” to come….

WHO IS KIRBY MOORE??
Moore grew up in Prosser, Washington and attended Prosser High School located less then 200 miles from Pullman. . He was a four-year starter for the football team, which was coached by his father.

Moore was named the Washington 2A Player of the Year as a senior after catching 131 passes for 2,126 yards and 34 touchdowns.. He finished his high school career with 304 receptions for 4,909 yards and national high school record 95 touchdowns.

Moore followed his older brother Kellen and played college football at Boise State for five seasons. Moore would struggle with injuries well at Boise State finishing with 115 receptions for 1137 yds and 6 TD's finishing his career in 2013.

In 2014, ,Moore would start his coaching career just down the road at the College of Idaho as a WR coach. In 2015 he moved to Seattle and worked under neath his former coach Chris Peterson at the University of Washington, after 2 seasons he moved to Fresno State a rival during his college days well at BSU, but it was there that Moore started to gain the attention of Head Coaches around the country..

Always living in the shadow of his Brother Kellen both as a player and now as a coach, Kirby quickly showed moved up the ranks in the coaching world. Well at Fresno working under HC Jeff Tedford and Kalen DeBoer, he worked as the Bulldogs WR Coach and Passing game coordinator well also making a name for himself as a recruiter.. When DeBoer left for Washington (now Alabama), Fresno rehired Tedford and Moore was promoted to Offensive Coordinator and added QB Coach to his resume as well in 2022. In 2023, Moore joined another former Boise State Bronco coach, Eliah Drinkwitz in Missouri, serving as the Tigers OC and QB Coach for the past 3 seasons.

Well at Missouri, Moore is credited with helping the Tigers offense rank among the Top-30 in College Football and was a huge reason for the success of former Tiger QB Brady Cook and the development of RB Amhad Hardy.

I am hoping so.. BSU has always been my #1A school but they are like #1B. I feel like the hiring of Kirby is huge and I am excited to see what he can do with the program.. It also helps that he is bringing in some other former Broncos including Matt Miller probably my all-time favorite Bronco to be his OC, so it's a win win for me to run a dynasty with them and hopefully build something special on the Palouse.

MOORE QUICKLY BUILDING A NEW STAFF!!!
Matt Miller as OC
Miller is a former college teammate of Moore’s at Boise State and spent the past five seasons on the coaching staff at his alma mater. He was the Broncos’ wide receivers coach each season and added the role of co-offensive coordinator in 2025. He also spent four seasons at Montana State from 2016-19 with stints as wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. Miller began his college coaching career as a offensive quality control coach at Boise State in 2015.

Moore
"I am excited to reunite with Matt. Not only was he a exceptional teammate but Matt has been a outstanding coach. I believe we will work well together and bring a mix of my style of offense and his style of offense here in Pullman. He is also a exceptional recruiter who knows the Pacific Northwest and that's our bread and butter on where we want to recruit from and build this program"
Trent Bray as DC

After spending six seasons as defensive assistant at Oregon State, which included two as the defensive coordinator, Bray took over as the Beavers’ head coach in 2024, but he was fired after an 0-7 start this season. Bray’s previous coaching stops also include three years as Nebraska’s linebackers coach (2015-17) and two in the same role at Arizona State (2010-11). Bray was two-time All-Pac-10 linebacker during a playing career at Oregon State (2002-05)

Moore
"What not alot of people realize or know is Trent Bray is a Pullman native. He played his high school ball here before going to OSU as a player. He actually got his coaching career started under former WSU/Miami/Arizona State HC Dennis Erikson before returning as a coach at Oregon State. Well he didn't have alot of success last year as the HC for the Beavers, I believe he is a excellent fit for our Defense and I believe he knows high school coaches in the PNW probably better then most.. Also he wants to be here, this is his hometown.."
Moore also added 2 more former Boise State Broncos to the Staff.. Andrew Browning will coach the DL after spending the past 8 years at Cal under another former Boise State Coach in Justin Wilcox. Also joining the staff is Brandyn Thompson who will coach DB's. Thompson a former teammate who covered Moore and Miller in practice for 2 years, played 1 year in the NFL and 5 years in the CFL before beginning his coach career at Cal Poly.

Moore also has added several Missouri staff to locker room as TE Derham Cato, OL Jack Abercrombie , Strength and Conditioning Coach Malcolm Hardmon.

IMMEDIATE IMACT!!!

When Rodgers left for Iowa State, the former Cougar HC left incoming HC Kirby Moore a couple welcome gifts in the form of a trio of 4* Recruits already signed and a host of quality 3* to build the foundation for the next 4 years.

RB Antonio Abbott (#43 Overall/#6 CA/#3 RB) a 6'1 218 bruiser from Concord CA and RB Cliff Provo (#233 Overall/#2 WI/#18 RB) a 5'9 209lb Utility back from Wales Wisconsin.

Moore also was gifted 4* WR Lester Creer (#96 Overall/#2 NV/#22 WR) from Reno Nevada.

Moore and the rest of the staff then worked quickly as they signed 20-3* Recruits and 2-2* Recruits for a 25 man High School Class that ranked #18 Nationally (Washington was #19).

Moore wasn't done though as Matt Miller and Moore went to work filling in some final pieces in the Transfer Portal including 3 former Boise State Broncos who should make a immediate impact next season.

WSU would land 7 players (All 3*) from the Portal. Moore would get a phone call from a friend (Ryne Scott) who led Moore to watch tape of New Mexico State where he grabbed 6'1 WR Donovan Faupel and 6'2 310 RG BJ Tolo. Moore then looked to former Washington natives like Utah WR Tobias Merriweather a 6'5 200lb Speedster who grew up in West Camas WA and Seattle native Jaymar Tasi a RS FR who spend last season at New Mexico.

However it was Matt Miller who might have made the biggest impact as Miller brings OT Hall Schmidt, CB Jaden Mickey and RB Greg Ard with him north. Mickey a former Notre Dame transfer is expected to be the Cougars #1 CB, well Schmdit will likely start at LT and Ard will battle it out with Abbott and Provo as the Cougars potential #2 RB.

Overall the Cougars Class of 32 players (3-4*, 27-3*, 2-2*) ranked #43 in the Nation....
