Unfortunately, I'm a Jets fan. During my 21 years of being a Jets fan (my whole life), the best we've ever been was 2009 and 2010, where we lost the AFC Championship in back-to-back years. While I am hopeful for the future, especially with the picks we received for Sauce Gardner, I ultimately doubt that this team will ever be successful with Woody Johnson as our owner. So, I've decided to play as them for my new Madden 26 Franchise, where I am hoping to go 10+ seasons playing every game. This save will not be storyline or narrative driven, as I realize that I don't have the creative writing chops that most of y'all do. Instead, this will mostly be focused on team-building and creating a dynasty. I might throw some storylines in here and there, but it will not be a main focus of the save. The New York Jets have officially hired their newest head coach, just weeks before the 2025 pre-season. (using latest Madden 26 rosters, just act like this season didn't happen yet!) While Aaron Glenn appeared to be the front runner for the job, he ultimately stayed in Detroit, as the Jets hired Offensive Guru Frank Bennett as their head coach. Bennett was a former offensive assistant to Kyle Shanahan, so that coaching tree continues to grow. Bennett joins a Jets team that is expected to be at the bottom of the AFC East for another year, showcasing the lack of development in their young roster. After trading key defensive players Sauce Gardner to the Colts and Quinnen Williams to the Cowboys in the off-season, the hope is that Bennett can lead the next core of the Jets to their first Super Bowl since 1969. Bennett is known for being a Quarterback whisperer, and he was the QB Coach for the 49ers during Brock Purdy's breakout season. The Jets front office is hoping he will work with GM Darren Mougey to find the next Jets QB1 and get the best out of him. The current state of the roster is poor, and unlikely to win more than 5 or 6 games this upcoming season. Key players include Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, two young, talented playmakers that you could build an offense around. While Garrett Wilson is tied down for 6 seasons, Breece Hall is in the final year of his rookie contract, and the Jets aren't likely to pay another running back premier money after the Le'Veon Bell disaster. The offensive line for this Jets team is very solid, and very young. The offensive line is very obviously the highlight of this team, so long as they stay healthy. The defense, on the other hand, doesn't have many standout players. Mazi Smith came over in the Quinnen Williams trade, and will see a lot of time at defensive tackle. There are no shortage of #3 corners and #2/3 edge rushers, but Bennett has to be hoping that one or two of those guys show themselves to be true #1's. Ultimately, the season will be a success if the Jets get more than 4 wins.
