Always Bet On Black.

Today, we shine the spotlight not on a franchise, but on a duo force of nature whose names has become synonymous with unyielding greatness: Recks Black & Khyri Blu.

From the first time he set foot on the virtual hardwood, Recks carved out a legacy defined by fearless drives to the rim, cold-blooded daggers from deep, and a competitive fire that refused to flicker out. Season after season, he was the cornerstone of his squad’s ambitions—a player who elevated every teammate, electrified every arena, and rewrote record books with a quiet swagger all his own.

Rookie of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Most Improved Player of the Year, 2x Defensive Player of the Year, 3x NBA scoring champion, 4x NBA MVP, 6x NBA Champion & Finals MVP highlight Reck's success.

Then there's his wife.

Rookie of the Year, Sixth Woman of the Year, 4x Defensive Player of the Year, 5x WNBA scoring champion, 5x WNBA MVP, 4x WNBA Champion & 3x WNBA Finals MVP.

Yet beyond the statistics and the trophies, The House of Black story is a testament to resilience. To the idea that no moment is too big, no obstacle too steep, and no opponent too formidable. For many, JZA's vision the embodiment of the DS ethos: craft your narrative, play with passion, and leave behind a legend that demands respect.

Now, as this nomination enters the Hall’s fateful ballot, only one question remains—will Recks & Khyri's era-defining impact earn them a place among the immortals? The vote lies ahead.

First off, I just want to say, Image

I got inspired to do so because I wanted to redeem a chise that didn't make it deep. Some might remember my first ever duo with Carrick King Carter & Jeezy Hamilton, that made their return later in the series. It was a nod to them and having them back in the story was kind of a full circle for me.

The effort and time for it. I was dedicated, simply put. At the time, I was heavy on the basketball more than any other sport in my non-chising gaming time, it just so happened to bleed over. Rough drafting characters, building them up and putting color into them, it was something I just enjoyed doing.

Just the consistency. Even when I was in the zone, the number of games were tallying as not all simmed games were simmed. So if I had like a 5-game sim, I'd play like 2 or 3 of them unrecorded individually. So there was a lot of build to the monotony. Plus, roughly 100 games in the NBA (playoffs included) & over 50 WNBA games, there's no getting around it, no real break playing games. But you love the sport and we play on.

The cover. NBA 2K28: The Kingslayer Edition :yep: Granted, I made it for story purposes, but it was a hard choice to put a closing on the prologue, being that of Recks' career. Way too many fun games, fun blowouts, battling De'Aaron Fox in the finals, going toe-to-toe with LeBron, shootouts against Trae Young, scoring 82 points. It was hard tearing away from that character in order to get to the main character, Kairos. Unfortunately, I burned out after 1 season. I was looking forward to that Chicago run, but seeing how the rest of Kairos' career played out, along with the others, was satisfying.
