Yea I'm trying to create drama this year with how good my team is playing now. Typicall those games on the road vs the elite teams are tough so I wasn't expecting to do that good.

Hazzard Making Case For Best Team Ever

After coming off the shocking 47-0 win vs Bama the schedule eased up 2 automatic wins and one tougher game in between them. Hazzard rolled in all 3 game so we are going to skip a lengthy post detailing each game. They beat Kentucky 63-14 with 21 of those coming in the 4th despite backups in. It was HB Tim Kong the star with 172 yard on just 11 carries and a pair of TD. Leamon racked up stats as well with 4 TD and 153 on the ground while the big TE had 3 TD. Skipping ahead to South Carlina a team with just a 67 overall it was ugly in this one a school record 70-3. This was despite backups on both sides playing basically the whole game outside of a few people. A school record (i think) 683 yards of offense. We even worked on our passing game in this one and also set a record of 340 yards in the air. Leamon had 5 total TDs with over 100 on the ground and his backup even had a pair of TD. Tim Kong again at HB could break season school records had 146 and 4 total TDs. A big game for Prosinski with 13 catches, 106 yards, 2 TD and 0 drops.

4 Game Balls - Kentucky
QB Leamon (90) = 7/17, 77 pass yards, 2 TD, 0 INT & 6 carries for 153 yards, 2 TD
HB Kong (91) = 11 carries for 172 yards, 2 TD
TE Prosinski (95) = 5 catches for 50 yards, 3 TD
S Addison (91) = 10 tackles, 1 INT

4 Game Balls - South Carolina
QB Leamon (90) = 18/23, 188 pass yards, 3 TD, 0 INT & 11 carries for 105 yards, 2 TD
HB Kong (91) = 14 carries for 146 yards, 3 TD & 2 catches for 24 yards, 1 TD
TE Prosinski (95) = 13 catches for 106 yards, 2 TD
TE Sumner (860 = 5 catches for 66 yards, 2 TD
________________________________________________

Auburn comes in ranked 15th and a team rating of 94 and on the road so this should be a tough game. Auburn came out ready to play and leads 13 to 7 after the 1st quarter. A drag route from our TE and short QB TD cap off a 18-0 2nd quarter and we go up 12 at halftime. Carswell the 247-pound power HB breaks off a 82 yarder in the 3rd and we extend the lead by 7. We add on 14 in the 4th with another rushing TD from our Heisman hopefully QB. The defense deserves some credit here holding them to just 7 in the final 3 quarters. Auburn had over 300 passing yards, but we had 469 on the ground. With the way this offense is on 3rd down we were just 27%, but a lot of times we are setting up 3rd and medium for 4th down and we were 6/6 on 4th down. Leamon did have his 2nd interception of the year and stats a little down with about 190 total yards and TD. At this point you might as well go ahead and start ordering the championship rings because it doesn't appear like anyone can stop this offense.

3 Game Balls - Offense
HB Kong (91) = 14 carries for 145 yards, 1 TD
HB Carswell (89) = 11 carries for 105 yards, 2 TD
TE Prosinski (95) = 5 catches for 71 yards, 1 TD

3 Game Balls - Offense
LB O'Connor (87) = 8 tackles, 2 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 PBU
DE Harper (91) = 3 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack
S Johnson (99) - 7 tackles, 1 PBU

Leamon Drops To #2 In Heisman Race

Despite coming off an impressive game from the stat side of things with 5 total TD and over 100 rushing yards. James has dropped to #2 in the Heisman race behind a WR from a 6-5 Wyoming. Cedrick Breida is coming off a monster game 12 catches, 177 yards and 4 TD which puts him on the year at 96-1491-17. Wyoming is known for producing WRs with Jordan Kasa winning the Heisman in 2033. James on the year is at 63%, 1,285 pass yards, 19 TD, 2 INT and most importantly 921 rush yards and 20 TD with 10 yards per carry.

If you take a look at the schedule Hazzard has 2 regular season games to go Tennessee and #15 Michigan State. Wyoming only has 1 game to go and they are off this week. Despite having 5 losses Wyoming is currently tied for the 2nd spot in the conference so it's possible they still play in the conference title game. If they don't make the game, then it would seem to be a lock that the award comes to Hazzard as we would have 2 more games than Cedrick. The #3 guy from Akron HB Dave Garnes (1379 and 22) could jump into the race as they are 11-0 and will play in the conference title game. As well as the #4 from West Virgina Brian Smalls (3500 yards and 37) as they are ranked 6th and have yet to lose. Another thing is Uncle Jesse has to monitor the health of James and not get him so beat up. It's currently at 25% for the year and we still likely have 6 more games this year. His overall career health is a little under 50%. This means you might see fewer rushing attempts and maybe just save those for the redzone.

10 Late Season Storylines - 2037

1.Leamon For All 3 big awards ?
On top of the Heisman James is 2nd for Maxwell and 2nd for Walter Camp award

2. Kong Should be In Heisman Race
Junior Tim Kong has 1,383 yards and 14 TD just not a lot of receiving stats. We think he should be a finalist for the Heisman just at this stage he isn't. We do think he is close since he is 6th for Maxwell and Walter Camp. He is 2nd for Doak Walker and that's fair as the #1 has 8 more TD then him

3.DE Harper Going Off
The junior has reached double digit sacks and 26 tackles and 19 TFL as his breakout year continues. He is in the top 10 for edge rusher and Lombardi awards

#4 Both C's Getting Love
We officially list Hufango at C even though he starts at OG which means we have 2 of the top 6 in the Rimington award race. Curtis Bono leads with 29 pancakes in just 371 snaps with 0 sacks allowed. We have let him rest up as we have a former 5* behind him we wanted to get snaps to. Hufanga has played 611 snaps and gotten 48 pancakes with 0 sacks. Bono is also 2nd for the outland award.

#5 Prosinki Best Year Yet
He is on track for his best season yet even if he doesn't top the 91 catches his sophomore year. He has 55-559-14 and will own every receiving record there is to own. His improved route running and hands make him much improved this year and don't overlook the blocking as well.

#6 Angel Johnson Breaks INT Record
Angel likely the most talented player in school history has broken the school career interception record with 11

#7 Kong Will Break Cam Dyer's Rushing Record
Legendary Hazzard QB Cam Dyer who started in years 2026 through 2029. Has the single season rushing record of 1,527 in 2028 and that will be shattered by Tim Kong currently at near 1,400 with 6 game to go. The more interesting question can Leamon break that record as well for the QB side of things. It looks like Cam's career record of 3,941 is safe even after next year. Cam doesn't own the rushing career TD record and would break that if he comes back to school next year.

#8 Heaps Leading Tackle
The ND transfer wasn't suppose to start despite the mid 90's grade and is now the leading tackler. When Reggie Addison (91) got hurt early on he took over and is playing so well he has remained the starter. He leads the team with 60 tackles and also has 2 interceptions. Addison has started playing some CB as well as backing up both S spots so he still get on the field, He is way too good to keep off the field with 99 zone and platinum house call and robber. But it's hard to bench your leading tackler with how well the defense has played even if he doesn't have elite traits. The one he has is the most overlooked with his play rec at 94

#9 Best Offense Ever ?
We are averaging 55 points a game easily the most in school history and 578 total yards per game. Both of those are 1st in the country and we are over 400 rush yards per game. The passing game being better along with the speed of our QB has taken this offense to the next level

#10 Defense Also Elite
Hazzard is 6th in the country at 18.9 per game and that's something we are very proud of. The passing yards at 250 isn't ideal, but a lot of this is teams having to throw so much vs us as we have a big lead. In the offseason we thought DL would be a bit of a weakness and it hasn't been with 39 sacks which is 3rd in the country

I thought it was a sure thing he would win the award and not I'm not sure. The wear and tear with him has really made for a fun challenge. He's a dual threat type and not pure runner so he doesn't have the workhorse ability and it's starting to show. I;ve got some tough decisions to make on how far I want him to win the award and managing his health for the playoffs.

Rocky Times In Rocky Top

TN comes in a rating in the low 80's but the 12th toughest place to play in and also run a offense hard to stop. They quickly march down the field on the opening drive and then we have it in the redzone. The rare redzone turnover for us as Leamon throws a bad ball and they return it 70 yards. This mean we are quickly down 14-0 and to make it worse we had major injuries. Tim Kong got hurt and would miss the rest of the game. Then not long after this our Heisman leading QB would also get hurt and outside of a play here and there would also miss the rest of the game. Our TE would score a rushing TD and it looked like we would go into the locker room despite all of this with a lead. Until they score on 3rd down in the final seconds before half.

We are going with Deontay Good at QB a redshirt freshman with 90 speed and 96 arm power. However, he makes a mistake and its our 2nd redzone turnover on a option pitch. Later in the 3rd quarter Carswell our 247 power back scores and we take the lead by 4 for the only points in the quarter. After a big sack on 3rd down by Harper we march down to the redzone after a big run by Carswell. We put in Leamon and he thankfully scores the rushing TD without taking a hit. This put is up 11 in the 4th quarter. A nice interception by our CB goes for waste as a brutal 4th down drop by our flexbone FB. They score to make it a one score game, but we stop the 2 point play to keep it at 8. We get the onside kick and then break a big run to pad the stats and then add 3 late because we don't like Tennessee

This was one of those games you just want to survive on the road vs a team with a QB that can't miss. The big stories are injuries Leamon missed most of the game but did at least account for 3 TDs for his Heisman stat. His health bar for the season is now under 25 % and likely has 5 games to go. Kong only had 7 carries in this game and his health is fine for the season he just got hurt during the game. The 2 redzone turnovers is very rare for us and despite all of that and with our 2 stars missing most of the game we had 650 offense yards and 45 points. The reason for that was Eric Carswell who broke the school record for yards in a game with 259.

4 Game Balls - TN
HB Carswell (89) = 22 carries for 259 yards,1 TD
OT Meeks (86) = 8 pancakes, 0 sacks filling in for injured starter
S Addison (91) - 12 tackles, 1 TFL
Front 7 = 5 sacks

________________________________________________

We have #10 Michigan State at home and they are an elite team now 97 overall. Our QB Leamon did move back up to #1 in the Heisman and will play today. However, we can't afford for him to get hit so because of that we won't be calling any triple options or designed QB runs. That sounds good on paper, but so many of his rushing yards and carries comes on designed pass plays with his 94 speed. Tim Kong shouldn't have any limitations, but we don't want to give him too much of a workload coming off a injury. We have a bye week next week want at least one of our 3-star offense players fully fresh for the playoffs

Ramsey goes 14 yards from the flexbone FB and makes up a bit for that bad drop last week. They go for it on 4th and 2 and our defense stops the run. The speedy WR Mix spins around on the screen for the TD and we go into halftime up 21-0. This was a pretty ugly game with no points coming in the 3rd and us just trying not to get any of the star players hurt. Kong goes 20 yards for the 4th quarter TD and then the big TE adds one as well. Like always they score points in the 4th quarter with 14 and we beat a top 10 team 35-14. A adjustment game with a season low 35 points for us and really Leamon shouldn't have been playing in this game. Kong got a little more workload than we wanted with 16 carries which was enough for him to beat the single season record. Also a big time game for DE Harper with 3 more sacks and should now break the school record

Heisman Watch
Boss Hogg wouldn't let James sit out as he wants that Heisman and despite trying not to get him hit and save him he did enough in this one. He still somehow had 11 carries, but he did run out of bounds on a lot of those. His final rushing stats were 11 for 71. He was 16/27 passing with 161 yards, 3 TD and 1 Int. As long as he can hold on to the #1 spot going into the SEC title game he should win the award. West Virgina QB Brian Smalls will not go away and they haven't lost yet. He had 3,601 yards, 39:3 with 512 and 4 on the ground.

4 Game Balls - Michigan State
HB Kong (91) = 16 carries for 134 yards, 1 TD
TE Prosinski (95) = 7 catches for 69 and 2 TD
CB Cash (96) = 12 tackles, 1 INT
DE Harper (91) = 5 tackles, 4 TFL, 3 sacks

Ahead of Final Showcase - Leamon Drops To #3 In Heisman Race

After leading nearly all year at the top of the Heisman race Hazzard QB James Leamon has dropped to #3 and is now unlikely to win the award. That's because the #1 place West Virginia QB Brian Smalls has a game as well. At least the 2nd spot doesn't play which is the WR from Wyoming. West Virgina is undefeated and Smalls is having a big year so we can't say he doesn't deserve it. West Virgina is and ranked 6th and plays undefeated Oklahoma State who is ranked 4th so maybe if they lost that would open the door up for Leamon to jump into 1st. He also does come into this game slightly banged up so maybe he has to miss a little time. Brian Smalls 3.974 pass yards compared to 1,566, 42 TD compared to 23 and 5% less passing. While Leamon has 1,008 rushing yards and 22 TD, Smalls is no slouch 540 and 6 TD. While he won't win Wyoming WR Breida is having a big-time year as well. Leamon has also dropped to 3rd for the other awards as well.

The bigger question is should Leamon play and risk getting injured for the playoffs? He has 4 games to go and its high likely he will have to sit out one of them due to injury maybe even multiple. Boss Hogg has said he will play and Leamon wants to so he will at least start the game. We have learned again don't expect any triple options or designed QB runs in this game. The exception is maybe in the redzone where he can run out of bounds. Also, TE Alxander Prosinki is banged up as well and is expected to miss the game. We could see him a few plays in the redzone. He has pretty much wrapped up the TE of the year award with 67-686-16 plus 2 rushing TDs. None of the TE's ranked below him play this week so not a lot of reason to risk injury for him
