Spurs drop nail-biter in final seconds to Clips, 103-102
November 4, 2024 -- Intuit Dome

INGLEWOOD -- In what was about as even as a matchup could be – a back-and-forth game with 21 lead changes – San Antonio fell victim with a devastating loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The game opened with James Harden and Harrison Barnes trading baskets, with 22 points for Harden and 18 for Barnes in the first half. The second half then became the Kawhi Leonard and Victor Wembanyama show. However, the game would come down to the final 10.6 seconds where Wembanyama would get a chance to iso Ivica Zubac – a matchup he won the entire fourth quarter. This time wouldn't prove as successful, unfortunately, as the 7-foot-4 phenom would misfire a step-back jumper to seal his team's fate.

Zubac finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds, but other than him, Harden, and Leonard, no other Clipper scored more than eight.

Along with Barnes' 21 and Wemby's 26 points, San Antonio got strong efforts from Devin Vassell (17 points and four rebounds), Chris Paul, who notched his best game with 10 points and eight assists, Keldon Johnson (10 points), and rookie guard Stephon Castle, who turned in his best outing thus far with seven points and seven assists.

Up Next -- San Antonio gets set to visit the Houston Rockets (5-2) for the third time this season, being down 0-2 in the season series.

Rockets dismantle Spurs in blowout, 114-84
November 6, 2024 -- Toyota Center

HOUSTON -- Starters on both teams got plenty of rest tonight as this game went haywire very quickly. In a blowout loss to the Rockets, San Antonio's offense failed to show up, shooting just 39% from the field and 29% from three.

"Sometimes you just don't have it," said head coach Gregg Popovich. "No one had it tonight, but we have to just look ahead and gear up for another game tomorrow."

Reserves Blake Wesley and Malaki Branham saw their first minutes of the season, but didn't contribute much.

"I think it's time for them to play a little more. They provide good energy," said assistant coach Mitch Johnson.

Up Next -- San Antonio plays host tomorrow night on a back-to-back against the Portland Trail Blazers (4-4) for the teams' first matchup against each other.

Went shot to shot with the Clips and then the Rockets beat that piss out of you. That's gotta be tough.

Coming off a high-emotion loss, this was a big letdown.. played the next game too tho - the last update might have fuxd with the sliders a little… cuz shooting is harder and defending the cpu shooting is also harder :cmon:
