With training camp coming up to a close, it's put up or shut up time for several Titans
The Tennessee Titans returned to practice on Sunday and will travel to Philadelphia on Wednesday night for the preseason finale as the Titans are opting to mimic an in-season road game instead of spending the week in Philadelphia.

The starters are expected to play at least a drive, including Cam Ward who did not play in last week's game, but fans should keep a close eye beyond that with several starting slots and roster spots up for grabs that will be decided in the second half as well.

The most high profile battle is at receiver and probably won't be resolved in a single preseason game and will likely play out throughout the season depending on who the hotter hand is. Chimere Dike got the start last week over Xavier Restrepo and caught four passes for 35 yards, playing 45 snaps. Restrepo came on in the second half where he had a touchdown, his second of the preseason. With Ward expected to play, it'll be interesting who gets the start as Restrepo started in the first game.

Both players enter the finale with four receptions with Restrepo having one more yard and those two touchdowns.

Down the depth chart, Allen McGrill had a pretty bad drop last week on third down but has been the runaway favorite for WR4, excluding Deion Burks who is more of a special teams player at this point. UDFA Trevor Waldron and second-year player Anthony Evans III are distant competitors for that final receiver spot.

The backup quarterback battle continues to heat up with Julian Lewis gaining ground on the incumbent, Jalen Milroe, who hasn't done himself any favors with his play. He's been mediocre as a passer and while he adds to the running game with his athleticism, his fumbling issues are a cause for concern. Milroe's roster spot is likely safe and who the backup truly is won't be known until Ward goes down in a real game but its trending towards the rookie with his impressive outings so far.

At running back, the picture is very much muddled from how many players will even make the roster to what their roles would be. It's three guys fighting for likely one available spot behind Mark Fletcher Jr. and Jam Miller. Darren Jacobson is a bigger back at 230 pounds that can do some of the dirty work that Fletcher and Damien Martinez have done in past seasons and he's gotten the most carries with seventeen carries for 70 yards and a touchdown, averaging 4.1 yards per carry.

The eye test, however, belongs to the diminutive Mike Wiggins who is averaging 6.6 yards per carry and has shown the most wiggle and explosiveness out of the backfield. He's probably got the most potential out of the three but plays a role that Miller already occupies which is what makes his roster spot tricky to call.

Third, ironically, is the guy that was drafted in Antoine Booth. His highlight unfortunately has been his fumble and since then, he's carried the ball just once. When he did get touches against Washington, he averaged 9.8 yards per carry but the fact that he did not get a single carry against Carolina last week speaks volume. He has been involved in kick return so maybe that's how he makes the roster as a fourth running back.

The defense has been a bit underwhelming, especially at defensive tackle where Jeffery Simmons, understandably so, has played just six snaps as the Titans are saving him for games that count. The same can't be said for Jamaal Jarrett who has just one tackle despite playing the most snaps on the defensive line and T'Vondre Sweat has been a non-factor as well after getting a big payday. It may not be time to panic but the lack of impact is concerning, especially against the run.

The nickel spot is still up in the air between Elijah Jones and Roger McCreary with Jones having some impact players but also surrendering too many big plays as well. At safety, Darnell Brazill has been the better of the two between him and Rasheem Biles as Nick Cross returns from injury and both should get plenty of burn in the finale.

3. Realism & Immersion
Believability: Does the dynasty feel realistic, or does the user make unrealistic trades/signings that break immersion?
Depth: Is the user just playing games, or do they manage rosters, recruit, handle contracts, and discuss strategies?
Narrative & Role-Playing: Some threads go beyond stats and include coaching interviews, media articles, or locker room drama.

Titans close preseason strong with 34-17 win over Eagles
The preseason finale between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tennessee Titans didn't disappoint as it featured a Hail Mary touchdown, a pick-six and a punt return touchdown in the Titans 34-17 win over the Eagles on Thursday night.

Star quarterbacks Jalen Hurts and Cam Ward led respective touchdown drives with Hurts scoring a touchdown on his first drive and the offense reaching the endzone in Ward's final drive in the second quarter to tie up with Mark Fletcher's 25-yard run. Ward would hand the keys over to rookie Julian Lewis who led the final drive of the first half which ended with a 51-yard completion on a Hail Mary to Chimere Dike as the Titans took the 17-10 lead at the half.

Hurts would play into the second half which opened with Anthony Evans III's punt return touchdown for the Titans and then Lewis threw a pick six two drives later. It would be Philadelphia's only points of the second half as Hurts finished the game 20 of 27 for 223 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 39 yards and was sacked three times by Jeffery Simmons, Justin Jarrett and Edgerrin Cooper, who shared the sack with Gabe Harris Jr.

Some new problems along with some familiar ones
Mark Fletcher got his first extended action of the preseason and it wasn't pretty at first as Philadelphia completely dominated the interior of the offensive line. Fletcher eventually got loose for a 25-yard touchdown but removing that run, he was held to less than four yards per carry on his other touches.

The offensive line struggled as a whole, being called for four penalties and the running game didn't get going, consistently, until the fourth quarter when the Eagles had pulled their starters. The interior combination of Dylan Parham (veteran player in his first year with the team), Zach Rice (first year starter) and D.J. Campbell (only returning starter who is in his third season) doesn't instill a ton of faith and then you have two tackles in Malik Agbo and Josh Conerly Jr. who are unproven themselves.

On defense, the team struggled to deal with tight ends Jake Johnson (4 catches for 74 yards) and Junior Davis (4 for 49) which has been an issue in recent years. The Titans tried to fix that issue by moving on from Zaire Franklin and bringing in Edgerrin Cooper and while Cooper wasn't the issue on Thursday, tight ends continue to cause problems, especially when the team is in zone coverage.

Stock watch heading into cut weekend
Alonzo Barnett III got his first run this preseason after not playing, being the third quarterback to get into the game after Ward and Lewis with Jalen Milroe not playing this time. His only pass went incomplete but he did scramble for 47 yards on four carries, likely securing himself a practice squad spot.

Antoine Booth had his best game of the preseason, rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown and showed good contact balance on that touchdown. Darren Jacobson was hampered by the poor blocking, averaging just 1.3 yards per carry while Mike Wiggins only got two carries for ten yards. It was a tough day for Jam Miller who struggled, again due to poor blocking, and then fumbled and got benched in favor of Jacobson and Wiggins when the first team offense was still out there.

Dike was the standout with his touchdown but was also at the scene of the crime on the pick-six where he didn't bend his route inside enough, allowing Quinyon Mitchell to undercut and jump the pass. Anthony Evans III's punt return keeps him on the bubble but his lack of impact as a receiver is hard to overlook since Deion Burks already has the return job locked down.

Defensively, the return of Jeffery Simmons was felt with his sack and overall impact on the defense. Jermaine Matthews Jr. had a really good game with two pass breakups, including one on fourth down, and matched up really well with A.J. Brown. The same can't be said for Rasheem Biles who was essentially benched in the first quarter in favor of rookie Darnell Brazill who didn't make any impactful plays but wasn't causing negative ones either.

Jamaal Jarrett had three tackles for loss and looked really good when paired with Simmons as opposed to T'Vondre Sweat who got a big extension this offseason.

Injury Report
Titans tight end Darnell Washington left the game with an arm injury and did appear back on the sideline with his left arm heavily wrapped. While he did not re-enter the game, he did have his helmet on and appeared to be cleared to return.

Nick Cross continues to be out with his injury and might miss the first month of the season. Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson missed his second consecutive game after injuring his hip in the opener and could be looking at the IR while Aubrey Miller, who played two snaps against Carolina last week, was in street clothes which doesn't bode well for his long shot chances at making the roster.
