‣ NFL 2024 Regular Season, Week 4 - Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, California
(1-2) New England Patriots at San Francisco 49ers (1-2)
NE | 0 | 14 | 6 | 0 | 20
SF | 14 | 7 | 6 | 7 | 34

De'Vondre Campbell's pick-6 helps the 49ers snap a 2 game skid with 34-20 win over Patriots
Even after all the success the San Francisco 49ers had the past few seasons, a two-game skid and a string of injuries early in the season can raise some doubts for any team.
Considered those answered for one day at least.
Brock Purdy threw three touchdown passes, De'Vondre Campbell returned an interception for a score and the 49ers bounced back by beating the New England Patriots 34-20 on Sunday.
“We needed it,” left tackle Trent Williams said. “It was more than just going 2-2 on the season. It was something for the confidence.”
The confidence took a hit for the 49ers after losses on the road the past two weeks at Minnesota and against the Los Angeles Rams, plus injuries to several key players.
San Francisco's offense was dealing with some early struggles before Campbell delivered his latest big play of the season, making a leaping interception against Jacoby Brissett and returning it 42 yards for a touchdown after intercepting two passes last week.
It was the third interception of the season for the Patriots, who have been unable to get any consistent passing game generated with Brissett at quarterback, which will lead to more questions about when rookie Drake Maye will take over.
Brissett went 16 for 25 for 234 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Brissett did have some success throwing to Ja'Lynn Polk who had his best game as a rookie with 113 receiving yards and a touchdown on a fourth-down conversion. But as a whole, New England's continues to struggle with turnovers and being unable to convert red zone trips into consistent touchdowns.
“At this point, Jacoby is our starting quarterback,” coach Jerod Mayo said. “I haven’t watched any film or anything like that. He’s been a great leader. ... We’ve got to watch the film. We’ve got a long flight to go back and watch the film and we’re always evaluating every single position.”
Purdy hit several deep passes on the day for San Francisco on the way to throwing for 251 yards, completing 82 percent of his passes.

A dysfunctional offense must be so frustrating to play with. Gonna limit those turnovers but I imagine its difficult when your targets aren't...the best.

it actually was a competitive game until that fumble, we just couldn't finish drives. i can't believe we only ran the ball that little, definitely need to stick with the running game more. the blueprint from the cincinnati is the only way we're going to win. run the ball, mistake free football and opportunistic plays!
This is why I have good running backs in my CFB chise. Run when you can, pass if you have to and take care of the ball!

Ja'Lynn Polk showing some signs of life is promising though.

‣ NFL 2024 Regular Season, Week 5 - Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachussets
(1-3) Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots (1-0)
MIA | 7 | 14 | 0 | 7 | 28
NE | 3 | 3 | 8 | 7 | 21

New England can't finish the comeback as Miami's Achane explodes for game winning touchdown
Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane splashed onto the scene last season with a 203-yard, two touchdown performance against Denver in the Dolphins' historic 70-20 win over the Broncos.
He reintroduced himself to the New England faithful on Sunday, breaking off a 73-yard game winning touchdown in the final thirty seconds of the game to take down the Patriots 28-21.
The Patriots had just rallied back with Jacoby Brissett completing passes of 25 and 11 yards to get the ball into Miami territory, down a touchdown with two minutes left in the game. He then completed five of his next six passes, the only incompletion coming on a drop, before Antonio Gibson rushed it in from three yards out to tie the game with 36 seconds left in the game.
New England had trailed by fifteen points at halftime but a 57-yard completion to Tyquan Thornton got them their first touchdown of the game in the third quarter. New England's defense was able to overcome some early struggles with Miami's motion heavy offense and kept them in check after surrendering three touchdowns in the first half. Until Achane broke off the long touchdown run when the Dolphins were ready to settle for overtime.
