Happy Thanksgiving to all those reading/following along... I hope you had a great day with your families. It was a great day for me despite some sadness. For the past 21 years my wife and I have celebrated Thanksgiving on my wife's family cattle ranch here in Eastern Oregon. However my father- in-law -passed this past June and the ranch is currently up for sale so we had Thanksgiving with my wife's sister and her new husband and their 5 kids as well as my Mother in-law in town.. Food and fellowship was still great though. However more sadness came. I started a new job this past July and have to work tomorrow so no 4 day weekend for me.. Also one of our many cats who we have had for the past 13 years is battling kidney failure and we will have to put him down tomorrow. He will be missed..

I remember you mentioning the father in law passing on OS. Glad you were able to have a good Thanksgiving even with all the changes and rip to the cat broski

I think even moving into the Big 12 you would struggle to find a lot of tough matchups, so my vote goes to adding the Big Ten West

some tough matchups to open the season and while you don't like giving up 30+ points in back to back games, the offense did enough to salvage the dub

BRIONCOS DOMINATE COUGARS FOR ANOTHER HOME WIN!!

BSU has moved it's home winning streak to 19 games and it's Overall winning streak to 31 games as they defeat BYU in Week 4 to move to (4-0) Overall and (2-0) in Pac-12 play.

The Broncos and Cougars locked into a Defensive battle in the first Quarter with BSU taking a (3-0) lead into the 2nd Quarter but the Broncos would explode in the 2nd Quarter scoring 4 times including 3 rushing touchdowns by Greg Stock as the former 5* now has 10 on the season in just 14 Quarters of play. Stock didn't just run the ball though as he showed off his 3 down skills with a 18 yd screen pass for a score as Boise State goes into the locker room up (31-0).

The BYU Defense stepped up in the 3rd Quarter holding Boise State to just 1 touchdown but the offense continued to struggle as the Bronco Defense looked to complete the shutout. Trailing (38-0) in the 4th, BYU would finally break the goose egg with a 38 yd FG to make it (38-3).

With a 5 score lead BSU looked to use the last 6 minutes to even the reserves a chance to play and QB Nate Exum showed why teamates call him Nate "The Great" throwing 2 touchdowns on both of his pass attempts including a 45 yd strike to TE Scott Folwer.

BYU would sandwich another FG in between the 2 scores to make it (52-6) with under 2 minutes to play. Despite throwing just 3 pass's Exum's day was over as BSU turns to True Freshman Kyle Mast.. The former 3* Athlete would actually get to lead 2 dirives after completing 3 of his first 5 pass's Mast would throw a INT but the Bronco Defense covers for him as they pickoff BYU backup FR QB Doug Henderson to give Mast the ball right back.. Mast wouldn't waste the opportunity as he lead the Broncos down the field 1 more time as BSU adds to their lead with a 9 yd touchdown run by Addison Daniels.

BYU had 1 last chance with 38 seconds to play to Henderson would throw his 2nd INT of the game to Roland Finely as BSU kneels down the remainder of the clock.

BYU finiished with just 246 yds of Total Offense with 29 rushes for 55 yds (1.9 avg) Starting QB SR K. Mare was 10/19 for 96 yds with 1 INT and Backup QB FR D. Henderson was 7/13 for 96 yds with 2 INT

UP NEXT

BSU stays at #2 in the rankings and will travel to Salt Latke next week to take on the (2-2) Utah Utes.. Utah started the year 2-0 including a Pac-10 win over Oregon State but they have lost 2 straight in Pac-10 play (Cal 43-19) in Week 3 and Washington State 48-20 in Week 4).

BRONCOS SIGN 3RD RECRUIT

Coach Miller signed his 3rd recruit of the season this week after the game but also lost his first official recruit as well.

5* WR John Horner (#17 Overall/#2 CA/#5 WR) is the first 5* to sign this year after Boise State landed a nation's best (6) last season. Horner like current WR1 Enrique Chance and WR2 Tye Shelley is listed at 6'5 193lbs from Santa Ana CA and could very well step into Chances roll at the end of the season should he follow in Carr/Zentner's footsteps and leave early.

With Horner on board, fellow 4* WR Tavares Sampson decided he wasn't coming. The 6'2 182lb Friendship TX native is staying close to home and signing with the Longhorns.. Sampson was rated #80 Overall/#5 TX and #15 WR.

Yeah it was a sad day today but we still have plenty of cats around both inside and outside ferals that call our backyard their home. It's just tough when they have been apart of your life for 10+ years.

The team is playing good. The Defense rocked the Cougars (just posted the game) and I have to be honest after having a decent challenge against Duke and even Colorado I was shocked with how bad Michigan played. Duke put up 403 yds of Offense, Colorado actually put up 441 yds but Michigan had just 282 with 2 INT and 2 turnovers on 4th down well BYU had just 246 yds with 3 INT.

As far as the Big 12 vs the Big Ten.. My thought process would be to remove Iowa/Iowa State, K-State/Kansas. The add Boise State and Arizona State and have a 12 team conference that would be Texas/TAMU/Texas Tech/Baylor/Houston/SMU on 1 side and then Oklahoma/Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Boise State, Arizona State and TCU on the other side. So my 5 division games would be against potential Top-25 teams every year and then I would still have the occasional matchup with Texas during the regular season and most likely the Big 12 Championship.

If I did a Big Ten West.. I would still be play Oreogon/USC/UCLA and either Washington or Arizona State was my 4 division games but would also have the 5 games against Ohio State/Michigan/Pitt/Penn State and Notre Dame every year so year probably top to bottom a much tougher schedule.

Yeah honestly I don't think I have unlocked his full potential yet.. I actually really like my backup Nate "The Great" but it's pretty hard to bench a 5* who has led your team to a Natty. He is a RS SO and a 91 Overall so there is a chance he leaves after this season which would open up the door for Exum to start his Senior year but we will see.

Figured you would like to know Miami is off to a nice start gong 5-0 and has take over #2 in the rankings but they got a tough matchup coming up against #8 Florida State, but they just beat Georgia so they should be ready.

CAN'T BE STOPPED!!!

WEEK 5 RECAP

Boise State cruised to their 32nd straight victory over Utah in Week 5 pickup up their 3rd road win of the season as they improve to (5-0 Overall/3-0 Pac-12 play) going into the Week 6 "Bye" week injury free and playing some of their best football in school history.

Utah kept things close in the 1st Quarter trailing (14-10) and actually took the lead in early in the 2nd Quarter after Freshman RB Antwaun Knight (73 Ovr) broke a 45 yd run to set up a Issac Reed (78 Ovr) 12 yd touchdown run making it (17-14) but the Broncos responded with a pair of scores over the final 6 minutes of the half as Greg Stock continues to pile up touchdowns with his 2nd and 3rd scores of the day including his longest run of the season (34 yds).. to give BSU the (28-17) lead going into the locker room.

BSU opened up the 2nd half with the ball and Tobias Barksdale quickly led the Broncos on a 6 play 80 yd drive capped by a 28 yd touchdown to TE Scott Fowler who has officially take over the #1 TE role. After forcing a quick 3 and out by the Defense Barksdale would need just 1 play to extend the Broncos lead as he hits Wisconsin transfer Felix Donahue on a 52 yd bomb to make it (42-17).

Utah would open up the 4th Quarter scoring with a JR QB Kevin Prescott (80 Ovr) throwing his 2nd touchdown of the day as he finds his TE John Stephen (81 Ovr) over the middle for a 11 yd strike to cut the lead to (42-24) with 6 minutes to play in the game..

Already with 3 scores and 163 yds on 26 carries in the game Greg Stock would take the remainder of the game off as RS FR Addison Daniels takes over.. Daniels would rush 18 times for 68 yds including a 6 yd touchdown run to extend the Broncos lead and final score of the game.

Prescott would finish the game 17/34 (50% for 180 yds with the 2 TD in the loss. Utah as a team would manage just 293 yds of Total Offense on the day on 62 plays compared to Boise State's 85 plays and 610 yards.

WEEK 6 TEAM REPORT

With the Boise State Broncos officially on their Week 6 "Bye" we take a look at some of the news surrounding the team this week.


MIILER/BRONCOS FUTURE

Coach Matt Miller is in the last year of his contract and is coming off his 4th National Championship in 7 years leading the Broncos to back to back Natty's. The former Bronco WR and OC has already established a Hall of Fame career despite having coach just 115 games. Miller is (107-8) Overall and has lost just 1 time to a team no in the Top-25 rankings. He has also never lost more then 2 games in a season and has lead BSU to 2 undefeated seasons in 2028/2033 and has the Broncos 5-0 this season..

Some have to wonder at 43 years old Miller has a long life and a long career still ahead of him. With so many goals already accomplished, the question is what drives Miller to continue?

Maybe it's Boise State's unknown future in the landscape of college football. The Broncos dominated the WAC and Mountain West for year's before making the jump to the Pac-12 in 2026. Since arriving BSU had won 7 straight Pac-12 titles starting in 2027 just their 2nd year in the league. However with the 2035 Realignment Project taking place we have heard rumors of Boise State potentially moving to either the Big 12 or the Big Ten as NCAA Commish Ryne Scott looks to change things up.

"Alot of people thought we were crazy in 2030 when we moved Georgia and Florida out of the SEC and into the ACC, Georgia had won 6 SEC titles from 2022 to 2029 and played in 7 Championship games, well Florida after year's of climbing back to the top went back to back in 2027 and 2028 but the moves have payed off for the ACC making the conference stronger and has allowed schools like Louisville/Tennessee and Auburn opportunities to rebuild their programs as potential SEC powerhouses giving Alabama and LSU a run for their money each season.

The Big 12 has been dominated by Texas 7 Big 12 appearances since 2026 and 6 titles well Michigan has done the same in the Big Ten (5 title in 26/27/28 and again in 2030/2031 as well as 3 titles in 21/22/23) We believe it's time for those programs to have some new blood pushing them"

When Boise State signed RB Greg Stock they already had multiple 5* RB on the roster in Brian Crum and Drew Waller but that didn't stop the Broncos from adding Stock to the stable. BSU then went out and landed stars like Desean Swaim and Brian Myers in the portal and found another already on their roster playing the wrong position in Angel Coker.

But like the stock market, BSU made a smart investment convincing Stock that returning to Boise was in his best interest and so far for the Redshirt Sophomore, they couldn't be more right.

Going into Week 7 Stock is the only RB in the Heisman conversation after starting the season with 683 yds and 13 TD's on 141 carries in the Broncos first 5 games. Stock has also shown he is more the capable of handling both roles played by Crum/Boykins and Swaim/Coker in the past as a true 4 Down RB who doesn't leave the field. Stock currently is 5th on the team with 17 receptions for 175 yds well adding another score..

NEW PLAYMAKER'S EMERGE

When Taj Carr and Eric Zentner took their talents to the NFL and 2 year starter Larry Ika graduated, the Bronco WR/TE room had some major shoes to fill. So far they have found guy's capable of filling those shoes. RS FR Tye Shelley leads the team in receptions (29) yards (549) and touchdowns (5) well Fowler has fought off Steven Strong to officially take over the #1TE role with 22 rec for 369 yds (16.8 avg) and 4 touchdowns.

ESTABLISHING A RUSH

Last season Boise State led the nation in Interceptions but finished in the bottom 3rd in registered Sacks. Well their #'s are not eye popping BSU has moved up quite a bit this year in the first 5 games recording 15 Sacks (3.0 per game) and trails just Oregon (23) and UCLA (17) in the Pac-12 and are Top-25 nationally, well still producing decent #'s from the secondary with (6 INT's).

Redshirt Junior DT Trevor Bouchard is a key reason why.. Bouchard so far has recorded 17 Tackles with 10 TFL and leads the team with 4.0 sacks., with former 5* Nick Parker (3.5) and L. Oshinowo (3.0) not to far behind..


RECRUITING NEWS

With Greg Stock having the type of season he is having many believe Stock's playing days will be on Sunday next year leaving Boise State to find their 4th starting RB in 4 years. BSU signed 4* RB T. Chesley and 4* WR/RB Coco Jean in the 2033 Class (both redshirting) and have former 4* RS FR Addison Daniels currently backing up Stock currently, but that didn't stop Miller from landing 4* Jahlil Kearns in Week 1 and now in Week 5, BSU fan's are giving more great news as another 4* RB has entered the mix. 6'1 187lb Dave West from Bellflower CA has made it official. West rated #78 Overall and the #6 recruit in CA and the #15 RB in the class had plenty of offers (LSU,Florida State, Michigan, Alabama, Washington, Indiana, Clemson as well as San Jose State.

We are being are being told that BSU is committed to these 2 backs and will not look to sign another high school player in this year's class.

"At this point the plan is to focus on other needs at the high school ranks. We might explore the portal should Stock and former transfer portal addition Devon Lockett decide to leave but at this point we are really excited about the future of our RB room"

The addition of West pushes the Broncos class to 4 signings (1-5*,3-4*) and is currently ranked #7.

The Top-10 could see some major shakeup in after Week 7..

#1 Clemson plays #10 Georgia with a chance to hand the Bulldogs their 3rd loss of the season and probably officially ending any hopes of a playoff or ACC title game.

#2 Miami takes on #8 Florida State in a Sunshine State showdown. This game will not just impact the rankings and potential ACC championship but also leads to many recruiting battles won off the field as well.

#4 Texas will host #13 Oklahoma in the "Red River Shootout". The Longhorns have been dominating this rivalry so it will be interesting to see if the Sooners can end the dry spell

PAC-12 NEWS

UCLA is keeping pace with Boise State starting their year with a 5-0 record and USC has officially climbed back into the national news at #25 with a (4-1) start but the team everyone is talking about is #22 Oregon.

The Ducks started the year with a huge (13-12) win over Georgia in Week 2 but then lost to both the Trojans (21-10) and Bruins (33-28) before rebounding with a (52-21) win over Arizona State... With 2 loss's (both in the Pac-12) the Ducks Pac-12 title hopes are probably over and a 3rd loss to Boise State in Week 10 could officially end any hopes of a playoff bid as well.

UNDERDOG STORY

Florida Atlantic is once again the only G-5 school in the Top-25 going into Week 7. The Owls are on pace for their 3rd straight 10 win season after gong 11-2 last year with a American Conference title. FAU has moved into the discussion as a possible ACC member in 2035.

REBELS LOOKING GOOD

Well several teams are still undefeated Boise State included. We have to take notice of Ole Miss who will get a much need rest in Week 7 with a "Bye" after playing 7 weeks straight going a perfect 7-0.

The Rebels record is even more impressive because they are 5-0 against SEC opponents with wins with Louisville, Tennessee and Auburn with what appears to be only #17 Alabama standing in their way to what could be a perfect 12-9 season and bid to the SEC Championship and playoffs.


GEORGIA BULLDOGS

The Georgia Bulldogs might not be winning on the field (3-2) but they are winning off the field. Georgia has claimed the #1 Recruiting Class the past 2 seasons edging out Boise State both times and it appears they are off to a quick start in looking to make it 3 in a row.

Georgia had already signed 16 players to this year's Class including a nation leading (4) 5* Recruits and 12-4* Recruits establishing 236.20 PTS (Notre Dame is currently #2 with 114.5 and Texas #3 with 113.8)

WEEK 7 RECAP

Boise State overcame a early injury to RB Greg Stock and (4) 1st half INT's by QB Tobias Barksdale to defeat Arizona for their 6th straight win of the season, their 20th straight at home on "The Blue" and their 33rd Overall.

With Stock out and Barksdale struggling the Bronco Defense came to the rescue recording a Safety in the 1st Quarter to help Boise State take a (9-0) lead and holding the Wildcats scoreless despite the 4 turnovers as BSU goes into the locker room up (19-0) after a 52 yd FG by Nick Mateo with 6 seconds to play in the half.

Coach Miller already without his star RB would turn to his backup QB to start the 2nd half as Nate "The Great" Exum leads the offense onto the field. Exum would look good on the opening series completing 5/5 pass's including 44 yd bomb to Tye Shelley as BSU extends their lead to (26-0).

Arizona would finally get on the scoreboard on their opening drive of the 2nd half with a 38 yd FG to make it (26-3) Exum would then throw just his 6th INT of his career and first as a Bronco leading to another Wildcat FG to make it (26-6) with 5 minutes to play in the 3rd.

Exum however would put the INT behind him and find backup RB Devon Lockett for his first touchdown as a Bronco as the Umass transfer gets extended PT with Shock out. Lockett showed off his receiving skills taking a screen pass 24 yds for the score as BSU extends their lead to (33-6) going into the 4th.

Arizona's offensive struggles would continue throughout the 4th Quarter as the Wildcats turn the ball over 3 times on downs leading to just 194 Total Yards of Offense and with just 30 yds coming on the ground.

Looking to just close out the game and get ready for next week BSU would close out the game pounding the run game as Addison Daniels adds a pair of rushing touchdowns including a 22 yd score with under a minute to play.
