Buckeyes dominate Stanford to advance to CPF Semi Finals
The College Football Playoffs Quarterfinals against Ohio State isn't where you want to take your first college snaps. Stanford quarterback Tevita Luck -- no relation to Andrew -- learned that the hard way.
The true freshman had to replaced the injured Alex Rowe and after leading Stanford to a field goal in his first drive, it was all Ohio State after that as the Buckeyes intercepted Luck three times and stripped him of the football once more in the 37-19 win in Atlanta to advance to the Semis to play Alabama.
Stanford whimpered to the finish line as they entered the game without star linebacker Manu Toomer, lost Rowe in the second quarter and then running back Trumaine Lasike left the game in the third quarter with a hip injury and backup running back Rashawn Crouse was also sidelined with an injury.
Luck threw a pick six to give Ohio State the 17-13 lead at halftime and then Garrison Doman found tight end Matt Clutts for the 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the second half to begin the domination.
