Big start for the Canes.
wellll......

Honestly, I really tried to be modest about who I went after, and kept it realistic to what Ohio State has done in the past in terms of positions/locations/pipelines/ect
I had to put a lot of thought into how I recruited, because you're right, it's fairly easy to land overpowered recruiting classes with Ohio State.ShireNiner wrote: ↑16 Dec 2025, 14:16Is it hard to not recruit all great players with Ohio State? Seems like you can get anyone.
I kind of intend to have a storyline around signing day about how the class is a little bit of a disappointment (I don't think it will end in the Top 10), and what the ramifications of that might be.

As stated already, that class is looking wide in the middle. Planning to be aggressive in the portal to make up for it?

Great class, mostly pipeline though. I appreciate seeing that.

the fans aren't happy tbh
tryna keep it realistic haha
The default roster is really weak on the O-line. Needed to do a bunch of work there. But yes, gonna go portal heavy this year, I think.
Yep, really wanted to stick with Ohio/Midwest, with a few big strikes that made sense with who is on the coaching staff and where Ohio State has recruited in the past.
Yep, as long as Brian Hartline stays, those stud receivers are gonna keep coming. Honestly, the biggest problem is he recruited so many that that room is oversaturated. There were a couple guys I let go because of how big the room is.YaBoyRobRoy wrote: ↑17 Dec 2025, 13:16this bro got screens in all three unis #nextlevel

True Freshman Bo Jackson is Making a Play at Play Time
By Zachary Anderson on September 15, 2025

Ohio State didn’t bring Bo Jackson along slowly because it wanted to. It did it because the opener was Texas, the stakes were sky-high, and true freshmen running backs rarely get much say in that kind of game. But even in one snap, Jackson found a way to matter.
Late in the fourth quarter against the Longhorns, with the Buckeyes needing a response drive to keep control, Jackson leaked out of the backfield on a third down and turned a simple checkdown into a 25-yard gain. It wasn’t loud in the box score, but it was loud in what it suggested: the moment wasn’t too big, and the game didn’t move too fast.
Afterward, Ryan Day didn’t overhype a single play, but he did make it clear that Jackson’s poise is already earning trust. “He’s one of those guys you can see it right away,” Day said. “He practices the right way, he’s reliable, and he’s earned more opportunities.”
Those opportunities arrived quickly. Jackson played 19 snaps against Grambling State, then another 18 against Ohio, and the Bobcats game was the first time the staff truly put the ball in his hands with intent. In 18 offensive snaps, Jackson carried 11 times for 48 yards and a touchdown, showing the blend Ohio State recruited, quick feet, balance through contact, and a calm understanding of where the run is supposed to hit.
Offensive Coordinator Brian Hartline said that’s what separates Jackson right now, even in a crowded room. “For a freshman, his feel is advanced,” Hartline said. “He sees space. He presses the hole. And when he gets out in the pass game, you can trust him to do the right thing.”
That last part might be the biggest reason Jackson is climbing. Ohio State already has proven bodies at running back, and in September, coaches tend to default to experience. But pass protection, route discipline, and trust on third down are how freshmen force their way onto the field, and Jackson already has the kind of “QB-friendly” reputation that accelerates a role.
Day hinted that the snap counts aren’t an accident. “We’re still figuring out the best rotation,” he said. “But Bo has done enough to keep him in that conversation every week.”
And that’s the point: this isn’t a “nice early-season cameo.” Jackson has now matched his workload in back-to-back games, and against Ohio he clearly separated himself from the other true freshmen in the room. Ohio State isn’t just getting him reps to be polite, it’s getting him reps because the staff believes he can help them win.
The Buckeyes will need that as the season tightens, and as the margin for error shrinks. Bo Jackson looks like the kind of freshman who shrinks it right back.
