Remy turned as I opened the door to the gym in our building and decided to cut his shoot around short.

“Hold up, man. Hold up. We need to clear the air. Iris told me I could find you down here.”

“This whole potential trade situation has you buggin’, Rem.” He was definitely on edge and he wasn’t quite playing like himself. And I said as much in the huddle in our win over San Anotnio. He’s gotten more aggressive, which is good, but not always.

“I take it the conversation did not go well with Remy this morning.” Kori said once we were seated at our table. We decided to head toward Central Park and grab lunch at Green Kitchen. Figured we could head down to Bloomingdale’s and do some shopping after, since it was a nice day outside.

“He’s just in his head about all of this sh—” I quickly looked over at Isabella, who was busy coloring, “stuff. And I get it, I do.”

She narrowed her eyes in my direction. “Do you though?”

“I mean, when have you ever been put in a position where you felt like you weren’t wanted? You won two state championships in high school. You walked on at St. John’s because you wanted to play ball in New York that bad.”

I leaned back in my seat and thought about what she said. “You’re right, but I’m trying to use my star powers for good.”

The conversation paused as the waiter brought our food to the table.
