Cam Ward and Mark Fletcher walk down the Buffalo Bills as Titans halt losing streak
The Tennessee Titans' Big 3 of Cam Ward, Mark Fletcher Jr. and Justin Jefferson scored three touchdowns in the final seven minutes of the game and the Titans defense was able to hold off Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills when it mattered the most as they rallied back from a double-digit deficit to beat the Bills 42-35 on Sunday.
Ward and the Titans trailed Buffalo 21-3 at one point in the second quarter before a end of half touchdown from Ward to Jefferson and a 57-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, with a two-point conversion to Jefferson, helped them tie the game.
The two sides would exchange touchdowns with James Cook retaking the lead before the end of the third quarter and Fletcher responded with a one-yard touchdown of his own with seven minutes left.
Allen and the Bills offense would strike with a 55-yard touchdown on the ensuing drive to take the lead, converting on third and three with seven minutes left in the game. Ward would respond with his own big gain, finding Jefferson for a 46-yard pick up and then two plays later, following a strip sack that Ward recovered, he dumped it off to Jefferson who did the rest, tippy toeing down the sideline for the 24-yard score.
Tennessee's defense would come up with two clutch stops, the first one being a three and out on the next drive to give Ward and the offense the ball back from their own 40-yard line where an eighteen yard completion to Jefferson on third and five kept the drive alive past the two minute warning and after Jam Miller's 28-yard run, Ward would punch it in on a scramble with a minute.
The second stop, and the one that won the game, came after Allen had gotten the ball to the Titans 26-yard line with thirty seconds left, once again hooking up with Dalton Kincaid for a 28-yard gain on third down. Allen would be sacked with no timeouts and threw the ball away on second down and on third and eleven, Allen's heaved the ball into the endzone was time expired but it was batted down.
