If nothing else, the sim engine nailed that part. LSU catching an L is the most canon outcome imaginable.

should be a lock for the playoffs though, even if Tennessee wins the SEC
Yeah, missing the SEC title game stings, but the résumé should still carry me. Two losses in this chaos‑ridden SEC shouldn’t be a death sentence. Now it’s just survive Selection Sunday and hope the committee doesn’t get cute.

That’s the plan. Get in, reset, and let the defense cook. If I sneak into the bracket, nobody’s going to enjoy drawing this team.

Not out of the question that you could sneak a bye. That’d be good to get some extra rest.

It’s definitely still on the table, just hanging by a thread. If a couple results break my way, that bye suddenly looks a lot less far‑fetched. And yeah, with how banged up this roster feels after the SEC grind, an extra week off would be massive heading into the bracket.

2026 National Awards Recap
Sorsby’s Heisman Sweep & A&M’s Defensive Mastery

The 2026 national awards season was defined by two programs at the height of their powers: Ole Miss on offense and Texas A&M on defense.

Ole Miss: Brendan Sorsby Claims College Football’s Top Honors
QB Brendan Sorsby delivered a historic campaign, sweeping the sport’s major awards:
• Heisman Trophy
• Maxwell Award
• Walter Camp Award
• Davey O’Brien Award
• Golden Arm Award

Sorsby’s leadership and consistency made him the clear face of college football in 2026. WR Cam Coleman added the Biletnikoff Award, further highlighting the Rebels’ offensive firepower.

Texas A&M: A Defensive Unit That Commanded Respect
Texas A&M dominated the defensive awards, led by Colin Simmons, who swept the Bednarik, Nagurski, Lombardi, and Defensive End of the Year honors. DJ Hicks earned national recognition for his disruptive interior play, while Taurean York continued to establish himself as one of the SEC’s most reliable defensive leaders.

Together, these performances cemented A&M’s identity as one of the nation’s toughest and most disciplined defensive programs.

2026 All-Americans Recap
Ole Miss & Texas A&M Lead the Nation

The 2026 season saw Ole Miss and Texas A&M emerge as two of the most decorated programs in college football. From elite quarterback play in Oxford to defensive dominance in College Station, both teams made their presence felt on the national stage.

Ole Miss: Sorsby Headlines a High-Powered Offense
Ole Miss was led by First Team All-American QB Brendan Sorsby, who delivered one of the most efficient seasons in the country. He was joined by fellow First Team selections Isaac Brown (HB) and Cam Coleman (WR), forming one of the nation’s most explosive offensive trios. Their production powered a Rebels attack that consistently overwhelmed opponents.

Texas A&M: A Defense Built to Dominate
Texas A&M once again established itself as a defensive powerhouse. Edge rusher Colin Simmons and defensive tackle DJ Hicks both earned First Team All-American and All-SEC honors, forming the most disruptive defensive front in the country. Linebacker Taurean York and corner Julio Humphrey added First Team recognition of their own, showcasing A&M’s strength at every level.

With additional Second Team and Freshman Team selections, the Aggies proved they are built for both immediate success and long-term staying power.
