surprised you didn't push for another QB in the portal to challenge Baker. I admire the loyalty, but if he doesn't markedly improve from last year could be another rough season

Yeah we have some real ballers this year, I went hard after a QB but got pipped by Arizona, was a 3 star gem as well.

Oh I pushed man, just no luck. My QB room has Baker at a 94, Preston at 91 and Royer went from a 69 to 85 in the off season. So I’m going to try get him some reps so I don’t lose him as he is the future. I’m also targeting the #2 QB in the nation and he is sitting at #3 so far for TAMU.

For sure — these are the ones where you just want to see the machine run clean. Let the stars like Kameron Toure get loose, let the timing sharpen up, and let the depth guys get real snaps without the stress of SEC chaos.

And honestly, the way the defense is flying around right now, it feels like they’re treating every game like a tune‑up for something bigger.

Warm‑ups don’t count in the standings, but they definitely set the tone.

Yeah, this year is all about internal development. With a lighter portal class, the pressure shifts straight onto the freshmen and sophomores to fill real roles instead of just rotating in. Guys like Kameron Toure, Ashton Bethel‑Roman, and the young defenders already look ready, but we’re gonna need even more of that next wave to hit early.

If the kids grow up fast, this roster can still punch above its weight. If not… it might be a long SEC grind.
